However, after giving it some time and monitoring how badly my nails have been doing, I felt like I needed to share my experience. I had a pedicure with the extended massage, but unfortunately it didn't feel like a massage at all--it was mostly just scrubbing on my legs. I also had gel polish that needed to be removed, and the nail technician was extremely rough while filing it off. At one point, the filing actually hurt. She filed my nails down so much that they are now extremely thin, and one of my nails is already breaking off. What makes this especially frustrating is that I had been taking a break from nail services. I had only gotten gel once in the previous six months, had it serviced just once, and my natural nails were otherwise very healthy and strong. They had never broken or become this thin before. Now all of my nails are noticeably thin, even with polish and top coat, and I genuinely regret going to Radiance. I really wanted to give the salon the benefit of the doubt and see if my nails would recover, but after watching them continue to break and deteriorate, I feel this experience is worth sharing.

Her warmth came through from our very first phone call, and she was so helpful in explaining aspects of Indian weddings that I was learning about for the first time myself. She did an amazing job showing me different design options and then merging the elements I loved into something that felt perfect for me and even captured little pieces of our story. Having her do mehendi for our friends and family at the welcome event was also a huge hit. Everyone loved it! Reena was also with me on the day of our Hindu ceremony, doing my hair, makeup, and saree draping. I had booked her without doing a trial beforehand, and I was so impressed by how perfectly she understood and created the look I was going for. I received so many compliments, especially on my saree draping, which stayed beautiful and completely secure through the entire ceremony and all of the dancing that followed! I kept seeing amazing reviews about Reena, so I called her and she was able to fit me in later that afternoon. She even intentionally left some hairs so they could grow in more before shaping them in future visits. I will say she's a little on the pricier side for eyebrow threading, but that may just be the going rate in San Diego.

I'll be honest this was one of the only places I have ever trusted to do my eyebrows and I had a great experience a handful of times I've been to Carmel Mountain.
