I have been threading religiously for the past few years but a friend and I decided to give waxing at the Benefit Brow Bar inside Macys North Star a try after buying some brow products at Benefit. We have been making appointments with Tori consistently after our first visit. She has a sweet disposition and is very detail oriented during her session with you. She makes sure she has all your input before working on shaping and framing your desired brows. Be sure to schedule an appointment in advance, their schedules are regularly filled. read more

Erika did an AMAZING Job on my eye brows! I've never been happy with the way I've had them done but she took her time and figured them out! Thank you so much Erika!!! read more

First time going to someone outside my usual eyebrow gal and I couldn't be more pleased! ! Erika was kind and did a very good job cleaning up my brows! read more

A good eyebrow can make or break your whole look. The lady's at the benefit brow bar certainly understand this. After many years of threading my brows, I decided to go back to waxing. I'm so glad I did! Tori did a great job mapping out my brow shape during my first visit. She told me why she was waxing the way she was and how to help my brows get a little thicker. She did a great job when she filled them in at the end of my service and told me which products I could use. Tori's super fun and personable. She makes great conversation so it's easy to forget you're even getting your brows waxed the whole time! read more

I've been going here for almost 9 years off and on, but I hadn't gone in over a year. The service was excellent. I had Tori, who was friendly and quick. My eyebrows look clean and maintained. There was very little pain when waxing, and she filled them in wonderfully afterwards. One thing I enjoy is the free eyebrow waxing on my birthday! Can't wait to go back. read more

Yes ladies this is where you need to go and get your brows shaped by some of the best!! Erika blessed my eyebrows the other day and I've been getting several compliments ever since. She was so professional and friendly, she took her time shaping and also showed me how to apply the products I wanted to purchase afterwards. I highly recommend her! read more

Made an appointment for a brow wax today. Got a call from Benefit confirming my appointment for tomorrow. Called them to tell them no I made an appointment for today and the lady said oh I have you down for tomorrow but I can change it to today. Great thanks, we hung up. Then I get a call 10 min later saying no they are booked up today and can not get me in. So now after telling me twice I could come today because I never said tomorrow they tell me so sorry I'm out of luck and there is NOTHING they can do to fix their mistake. Twice. This place has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Never going back. Be ware that when you make an appointment it may not be a real appointment. read more

Without being dramatic, this is the only place in town I feel worthy of touching my eyebrows, and I'm an esthetician. I could do them myself if I chose. I ONLY see Marilou, not that everyone else isn't fabulous. They are, I just prefer her. I've been seeing her for almost 2 years now, and my brows have never looked better. She's the brow wizard, and respects the fact that I prefer a fuller brow. I don't want to look angry, and I never do when leaving. Included with the service is a touch up, so you don't have red brows or lip for the world to see. They also fill in your brows (which we should all be doing anyway, ladies!) to give you a completed look. They also do proper brow shaping, not the dump and rip "technique" as used by many places. Right now, they offer facial waxing, but will be adding body waxing and spray tans very soon. The prices may be a bit more than your nail salon, but the quality is exponentially more. I've been telling everyone I know to see Marilou for their brow needs, and now I'm sharing the secret of my brows with you too, Yelp. read more

Ok... so this is just a review on one particular person at this location!!!! This was my second time going to this brow bar. The background on my brows... I've only allowed certain people to touch my brows after experiencing a horrific over tweeze and wax once before in my life. Since this nightmare, I only went to Anastasia trained brow specialists. I've done my time growing my brows out and even in between appointments maintained them on my own for the most part, as to stay as close as possible to the thickness and shape that I've been carefully "Bonsai" growing for years!!! Trouble is, my brows are dark blonde. They are not "LUSH" but they are enough and they grow in the right spots to pull off a "faux lush" if done right! The first time I came here, I had Mary Lou. SHE WAS AMAZING! My eye brows had not looked that good in a while!!! I was relieved to have found her. And I was sold on coming back again and again! The second time I came in I was given to "Britney"....*sighs*.....Ok....So I saw Mary Lou with another customer, and something in my gut was telling me, just wait for her! Even if you have to wait a few hoursssss!!! Yeah, I decided to trust "Britney" because all of the cosmetologists are suppose to be specially trained in brow shaping at this brow bar. If they are trained, the results should be the same if not almost identically similar due to measuring my facial features, ETC.... NOT THE CASE.....I was explaining to Britney while she plucked and plucked and plucked and ripped and ripped and ripped about my nightmare experience and how happy I was to have found "TRAINED BROW SPECIALISTS".... I thought to myself wow.... She must be a perfectionist, and at the same time I was trying to control my other half that was freaking out, while feeling pain from hair I don't normally pluck. I thought oh well... She is TRAINED! SHE KNOWS BEST!!! HELL NO... SO WRONG... SO FAR FROM WRONG I HATE IT! She told me, yeah! They look GREAT! and handed me the mirror... I nearly broke down and cried.... I wanted to wax one of her brows off for revenge.... I quickly covered my mouth in disbelief and shock... I told her... They are so thin!!! Omg... I was freaking out and trying not to make a scene and embarass her! I'm so angry... I came out looking like a 90's sharpie'd on brow....I still want to cry just thinking about it. She told me, ohhh!!! Let me fill them in! They aren't done!!!! Oh Lord..... She filled them in, and all it did was make my brows look like I actually took a sharpie and drew 2 lines above my eyes. Now I'm attaching a picture... and you may think, oh they aren't that bad... but yes... YES They are! When I make an expression, you can actually see my brow muscle ABOVE MY BROW HAIRLINE!!! Thats not Normal Folks!!! I want to punch her in the face... I'm not kidding... I got a full refund....I'd of rather waxed her brows off I'm so mad! She should never be allowed to touch another person's brows ever again in her life! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO BRITNEY AT THIS LOCATION! MARY LOU IS FABULOUS, THOUGH!!!! read more

I've been getting my eyebrows waxed at the Benefit Brow bar for almost a year now and Vanessa is my go-to esthetician. The team is awesome and always makes me feel happy to be there. They map out your eyebrows and you approve it before they begin waxing. I always leave with perfect eyebrows. I love that they do free makeup touch ups so that I don't spend the rest of my day with my skin looking red from the waxing. If you want great eyebrows, go to the Benefit Brow Bar!! read more

I've been going here for a while. Marilou and Yahaira are very good . But this place gets so busy even if you're scheduled for an appt, you usually still have to wait. I used to think it was worth it. But today, I had an apt at 240, there was random traffic and they say they give you 5 minutes. Well I got here at 245 and Yahaira saw me. She then said I had to be a walk in and wait then walked away and proceeded to go to lunch. Irritating because of the fact that I'm usually here on time and have to wait but yet I get here within the supposedly allotted "5 minutes" and now considered a walk in. I've spent a lot of money at benefit and that's pretty irritating. Update : still have been going faithfully. I start a new job tomorrow and they call me two hours before my appt on a Sunday and tell me my gal had to go home sick. Inconvenient and sucks. Second time this has happened to me. May need to find a new place to go. read more

So glad I found this little gem. I stumbled on it while I was inside Macy's. I love love love benefit masceras and eye makeup. They had all the new line of stuff and while it was busy it was less busy than the sephora where you can also get benefit products. It's worth the wait in line to chat with a sales person who I found to be super friendly and knowledgable. I did not have my eye brows done just got product but will be coming here to get them fine next time instead of going to the mani-pedi place I normally go to. I think you may even be able to use Macy's coupons here too. Also the testers looked cleaned and well maintained as was the makeup area itself. It's a small area but places to sit for you and a friend in case u are not shopping by yourself. I don't think you should come here if you're in a hurry - make an appointment and realize you may have to wait a bit - at least you have other stuff too look at or a clean area to sit and wait if needed. Also it's a small detail but I noticed and appreciated that they were not blaring loud music at me- it's nice to be able to shop in peace with regular ambient level music playing. read more

Obsessed with this place! I just relocated to this area and couldnt seem to find a regular brow place that just did threading or waxing. This place is so convinient and everyone is super nice! They dont only wax your brows, they apply a cooling gel and concealer right after. For sure coming back! read more

I will start off by saying I am one of the most pickiest clients that Vanessa has probably ever seen! I was referred by a friend to try out the Benefit Brow bar, and to go see Vanessa. She is the one who does my friends eyebrows and they always look amazing! I had been growing mine out for awhile now because I used to get them threaded and they got much too thin. I knew I was looking for a new go-to eyebrow gal but was very hesitated since I had just spent months trying to grow them back, more the less was even lucky enough they had actually grown back out. Explaining this to one of my friends over brunch she suggested I go see Vanessa which she talked about in such confidence, promising she would over deliver and listen to my eyebrow concerns and needs. She sent me the link to do the online booking and the following week I got in to see Vanessa. (She books up very fast just FWI) Now let me tell you!!! Her preciseness was unreal, she brow mapped my eyebrows explaining what would be waxed and what would be staying. When the service was over she gave me the mirror and my lines were sharp, there was no FILLING in that needed to be done! She recommended a product called Gimmie Brow, since I hardly like anything in my eyebrows and it added the perfect touch! Vanessa is truly and ARTIST with her craft and I cannot stress that enough! On top of that she is so sweet and knowledgeable. Her edgy look with her cute glasses gives Benefit a new spin, and she'll do your eyebrows RIGHT on so many levels! I'm so happy i was referred to her I will forever be loyal and have nothing but good things to say about Vanessa and Benefit! read more

I go to Victoria for my brows and absolutely love the way she does them. I highly recommend her for brows.

Tori at Northstar is amazing. I'm 100% loyal to her. She's done my brows rights. She super nice, helpful and very professional. We been working on getting my brows fuller for a little over a year and I have to say I've had a lot of improvement. She brow mapped me the very first time and a few time after to make sure we are staying in track. I usually see her ever 2-3 weeks or so. I absolutely would recommend her to anyone needing of a brow appointment. read more

Erika is the best!! I am completely dedicated to getting my eyebrows done only at this location! I highly highly recommend this place!

I stopped coming to the Benefit Brow Bar for almost 2-3 years, I switched over to threading because it was a bit cheaper. After several comments, I realized my eyebrows were becoming thinner and they were not as thick and pretty as they use to be back when I would get them waxed at Benefit. I decided to go back and give waxing a try. Victoria (Tori) has been my brow girl ever since then and she has managed to get my brows back to how they were. I go every 2 weeks, and I'm never disappointed by the work she does. + she makes you feel like a friend rather than a customer and is super nice. I definitely recommend Tori. She will answer all you're questions, and make sure you feel comfortable during the process! read more

I have been to this location since it first opened several years ago and let me just say that if you want the best brow wax and shape Benefit is the place to get them done. They go through training through the Benefit office in Chicago and learn from the best professionals. I have been through two brow aestheticians whom left and didn't know where else to go! Then there came Tania and when I met her the first day I was a little scared but when I saw the results, my brows came out amazing! Now she is the only one I let touch my eyebrows. It's now been over a year and a half and they come out looking better than ever. There is no other place to get your brows done than Benefit Brow Bar. read more

Good news and bad news: Brittany is no longer here BUT Tania is back at this location! She does great work, so glad that she's back!

I've been going to Brittany to get my eyebrows done for over five years. She's thorough, professional & has never let me down. I followed her from Anastasia to the benefit bar... Although she's only been at this location a few months she's been in the brow game for years! I wouldn't trust my eyebrows to anyone else:) read more

Trust me when I tell you BRITTANY is who you need to hire as your new eyebrow expert! After almost 3 months in "eyebrow rehab" she transformed my brows into pure perfection. She listens very carefully to ensure you achieve the exact look you are hoping for. I never leave her chair without being 100% satisfied. She maps out the shape to help you find your natural arch and the correct shape for your face. Brittany takes her time and the pride she takes in her work definitely shows. Not to mention she is so nice and personable. Go see Brittany I promise you won't be disappointed!!! read more

I get my brow arch done with Rebekah F. She's amazing! Never disappointed! I first met her at Ingram and followed her to North Star. She always "maps" out your brow and gets your approval before moving on with trimming and waxing. Won't be going back to the nail salons for brow waxing! read more

This is hands down the best Brow Bar in San Antonio! Ask for Ellie she is amazing, my eyebrows have never looked better, she's professional and makes you feel welcomed. She gives you the perfect shape, and fills in your brows for a complete eyebrow look. They also offer Eyebrow tinting which is a must, they custom blend your color for a perfect match. I don't have to fill in my eyebrows anymore for a while and I wake up with perfect brows. I highly recommend Ellie!! I added a before and after photo of my eyebrows, the after picture is with no eyebrow makeup. Try the eyebrow tinting ladies, you won't regret it. read more

We found the eyebrow guru ! My daughter, Kate, got a bad brow job at a hair salon. We went to Macy's for help and got BreeAna Prieto at Benefit Brow Bar. BreeAna made the very best of a disastrous eyebrow hack job. Where there should have been hair there wasn't and vice versa. So Bree trimmed and tweezed here and there and then used a pencil and something called Gimme Brow which made the brows look fuller. And she suggested Browvo which speeds up hair growth for those bare spots. read more

Amazing place! I have been going to the Benefit Brow Bar in Macy's since October of 2015. My esthetician is Vanessa and she is awesome! Vanessa always makes me feel comfortable and is the sweetest girl you can meet! I always leave with my eyebrows looking amazing. The team at the Brow Bar is always friendly and are quick to help you with any services or products you may need. I also love that if and when I want it, they always offer me a quick makeup touch up, so I am not running around with redness. If you are looking for a professional and friendly place, this is the spot and remember to ask for Vanessa! read more

AMAZING, had shapeless, sparse caterpillars before and after I felt like a new woman. Thank you, Victoria!!

I am giving a one star review for the current manager (Bree) and all other workers that aren't specifically listed below. I have been getting my eyebrows waxed at the benefit brow bar since 2015. I originally started at Ingram mall with Tanya, then moved to North Star mall when Tanya became the manager. Tanya got my brow shape right, and it was always a pleasure seeing her to get my brows cleaned up. Tanya was so easy to talk to, ALWAYS brow-mapped, and helped me with new products. She should get 10 stars because she MADE the experience at Macy's amazing. Then came Victoria (Tori) Tanya trained Tori on my brows when Tori first started working for benefit. I was a bit nervous with someone brand new working on my brows, but as Tanya trained her in the benefit way, Tori became my go to esthetician. Tori ALWAYS brow mapped, and was so bubbly and personable. She always asked how I was doing, explained how and why she was waxing my brows etc. I never had any issues with Tori, and if this review was solely for Tori it would be 5 stars. Vanessa, while not my go to esthetician, always managed to do my brows when I showed up as a walk in. I'm pretty good at getting appointments, but sometimes life happens and id have to walk in and wait for an opening. Even though Vanessa didnt regularly do my eyebrows, she ALWAYS brow mapped, and if she had any questions about my shape she would ask Tori or Tanya, or ask me before she started waxing. Again, Vanessa much like Tori and Tanya was bubbly, personable, and made the experience amazing. In fact, the only time I ever saw Tanya Tori or Vanessa not bubbly was when they all had a cold, and the poor girls were just trying to make it through the day. If this review was solely about Vanessa, she would get 5 stars. Then Bree came. My first interaction with Bree was as a walk-in during the Easter holiday. The girls were super busy, and since Tanya Tori and Vanessa were all booked, I had to be seen by Bree. Bree took me to the small counter by itself and then asked how I liked my eyebrows. I told her "when I get brow-mapped, I go by the natural shape." She said she could see the shape of my brows, and that I just needed a clean up. She spent most of the time talking about herself, and wasn't personable at all. When everything was done, she had filled in my eyebrows with a darker color, but I brushed it off as her being new and not knowing my colors. Once I got home and showered though.... my brow shape was way off. Bree never brow-mapped me, and proceeded to make one eyebrow way too thin, and then took too much off the top of my other brow. She also trimmed the front of my brows too short. I didn't notice anything till I showered because the fill was too dark. With the dark fill, my brows looked their normal shape. It is now September, and we are STILL correcting the mistakes Bree made back in April. On my next visit, I told Tanya what happened. Tanya, and Tori both apologized as they both could instantly see my brow shape was messed up and that it would take a long time to get them back to their former brilliance. Tanya, and Tori, have both left Benefit after having to deal with Bree. I'm not sure how Bree became the manager, but since that happened the whole place has gone downhill. Everyone looks depressed, there's no bubbly energy, and it seems like Most of the new counter staff have no clue about their jobs. I had a walk in in August, and only Bree and Vanessa were there. I was so worried that Bree was going to be the one to do my brows that I had a picture of my eyebrows pulled up to show her my correct shape. Thankfully, Vanessa was able to work me in and save the day. I will only be booking with Vanessa, as I can't trust someone who doesn't even follow Benefit procedure. I used to recommend Benefit to ALL my friends, and my selling point was "every girl brow-maps so you get the same shape, no matter who is doing it". Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. If Vanessa ever leaves that location, I will stop going. It's been sad to see the downhill decline, and I only hope Benefit and Macy's corporate sees this. read more

I started getting my eyebrows done here for about a year and some odd months now. I first met Brittany and loved her! I had moved back to Texas and had gone to the benefit brow bar where I lived previously and was sad when I would not have my old eye brow girl. I first went to a ulta location and it was not what I would have liked. I felt that instead of shaping and waxing, I paid $20 to have someone pluck me...I can do that myself. I have been going to Brit for a year and some odd months and love her. I think she is great and really connects with your session. I also think the fact that I have just thick brows she does a great job shaping me. For the rest of the benefit cosmetics area I am slowly becoming less and less impressed.A few weeks ago when I was waiting to get my brows done I was waiting patiently and had a girl ask me if I needed help. I told her no thank you I am just waiting for my appointment, and before I even finished my sentence she walked off to do something else. RUDE Also I went last weekend to do some early birthday shopping with my mom and best friend and I don't know if it is because it is super busy and people are stressed but the only person to say hi to us was Brit. Everyone else, yes was helping other customers as we browsed items, but after they were done no one said hello to us or asked if we needed help. It was not until we walked to the other end and someone came to track us down. I will probably buy my items from Ulta or Sephora from now on due to the lack of customer service coming from certain people here. read more
