I've been going to Melrose & McQueen for a year now. Due to scheduling, I usually wind up with a different stylist each time. Normally I have a great experience. However, I was very disappointed in the haircut I received yesterday by Chelli. I expressed what I wanted--curtain bangs starting at eye level, face framing layers, and a split end trim. She started with my bangs first and cut them beginning at eyebrow length--shorter than I had requested. Of course, once they were cut, I didn't see the point in commenting since she couldn't regrow them. When she was finished, I realized how much of my hair was on the floor and commented how light my head felt. She laughed and said "Yeah, I didn't take much off the length, but you had a ton of hair on your head, so I thinned you out!" I have straight silky hair, and I could be wrong, but I have never heard of a woman with straight hair wanting her hair thinned out. It certainly was not what I asked for, so I was shocked and uneasy when she laughed at how much she "thinned me out." I feel as though I have lost at least 1/3 of my hair volume and cried when I got home. I've spent the past year working diligently with hair serums to regain my original hair thickness, and I feel like she sheared me like a sheep. After washing my hair and attempting to style it today, I'm realizing how choppy, ugly, and uneven the layers are. It looks like a child cut my hair rather than a supposedly "highly experienced" stylist. I will never be back to this salon. I don't think anyone who is even moderately fond of their hair should ever book with Chelli.

My family drove over 1 hour round trip to have Ryan do my daughter's wax/lamination/tint service…read morefor her Sweet 15, only two days away (which Ryan was aware of). Nonetheless, Ryan did poorly and left my daughter with uneven brows. The unevenness wasn't immediately apparent because of how Ryan brushed the brows and the drastic change from how my daughter's virgin brows looked. However, when we got home, it was apparent that my daughter's brows were uneven and she was crying nonstop. I contacted Ryan, and she sent me the video she took of my daughter immediately after the service, and she asked where the brows were uneven. I sent her a picture with a clear line showing the difference between the brows. Ryan asked if we could return so she could fix my daughter's brows, but my daughter and I did not trust her to fix anything, considering how she left them in the first place. I asked Ryan if she could refund me half the price of the wax service (not the tint or lamination) due to the poor job, and she refused. Instead, she continued to suggest that we return to see her. I believe Ryan's refusal to return only half of the service price for a service she clearly did incorrectly was in bad faith. Overall, Ryan Waxing Studio was a huge disappointment, and I would not recommend her services to anyone.

She was cutting my hair for about 25 minutes. when I left the salon I asked my friend to take a picture of my hair and I saw an absolutely terrible haircut. I immediately returned to the salon and told about it, she started to prove to me that my hair cannot be cut in a straight line due to the structure (my hair is a little fluffy in wet weather), I told her, let's straighten my hair and see. She straightened my hair, the situation has not changed, she said that this is because that she didn't straighten my hair completely, but just a little bit, then another hairdresser came and said that let's fix and cut more, I didn't want to let them cut, asked for money back, they said that they were not going to return the money to me in any case.
