Our food was very good so each dish gets a star. The service was unacceptable!! Our waitress came one time.During our long wait, my husband and I watched other tables come in, be seated and receive their food and almost finish before ours arrived. As locals and long time patrons of the original it's too bad that the service is no longer top notch. Had our server just 1 time acknowledged she was not on it- I would have tipped her 20% and not written this review. Sadly, another really great local spot grew too big and stopped caring. I'm sad to say I have to walk back on my 5 star review from 8 months ago. They've made some changes to the kitchen staff and boy is it obvious. The pancakes are now a revolting doughy mess and I gave them three tries, on three separate mornings before posting this. The eggs are either over or under cooked. The waitstaff continues to impress, friendly and warm... they seem to genuinely love working there and we enjoy seeing them which is the only reason we've gone back. Fingers crossed they train the kitchen staff soon! Rarely am I served PERFECT over easy eggs. Crisp on the outside, liquid gold on the inside. Most breakfast chefs will cook them on a grill too cold or hot, resulting in slimy or hard eggs. These were absolutely the best eggs I've had in a decade. Fabulous breakfast place. The best Quiche I have ever had....but what really made it great was the happy smiley welcoming ladies who waited on us. I've been coming here on a regular basis for at least 4+ years. The Owner is nearly always present and sets a very friendly tone for the rest of the staff. The food is ALWAYS EXCELLENT, portion counts are large, and pricing is well within reason. This is truly a gem for breakfast and lunch! The only thing that keeps me from rating "As Good As It Gets" is a consistent and annoying matter that tables are often left unbused for longer than acceptable times. A simple change in procedure could rectify this problem. It appears that it is the responsibility of the individual server to bus their own tables. However by simply changing the procedure to require any server heading toward the rear and passing an unbused table pick up at least something then come back for the rest would generate a clean and "We're Ready For You!" appearance. Chose this restaurant from yelp turned out to be a nice place. They had great service and the Greek omelette was really good I highly recommend it and so do they. The servers are really good about water and coffee and the only thing is the kitchen was a little slow on service even though it wasn't that busy when we got there . My husband and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast here today. I had the Farmer's quiche and my husband had the salmon Benedict. Both were very good. My quiche came with fresh fruit and my choice of homemade bread. I chose the cranberry orange bread and loved it. My husband had home fries and fresh fruit with his Benedict. I absolutely love this place for breakfast. We've been back several times with out of town guests and they just love the ambiance the food and the service. Everything is fresh and hot when served to you and the service is always and I do mean always coureous. The coffee is nice and fresh, not too strong but they are always willing to give you refills. Now the food, omlets are delicious, pancakes are fluffy and the french toast was very good also. Almost forgot to mention the homefries, perfectly made not hard or raw or even burnt, just perfect. Waitstaff is friendly enough and the place was expectedly busy for a Sunday morning. The food was ok, my waffle and bacon were hard and overlooked. Normally I would still come back and try it again. But, after eating I watched a server wipe her nose, then touch her hair (which was down and quite long, I expect hair to be pulled back) and then drop a cleaning rag on the floor, pick it up and go clean a table with it. I was disgusted. She never washed her hands the rest of the time we were there. Unfortunately, after seeing that done in front of customers, makes me wonder what happens in the back. Half the waitstaff had hair down passed their shoulders and not tied back. I've worked in many restaurants and the first thing you learn is to put your hair back and not touch your face, especially your nose and not wash your hands. read more
