We received the green light the morning of as they had promised. From the second Will and Gwen greeted us, to us saying good bye at the end of the day we felt safe and well taken care of. They communicated the expectations clearly. They navigated the insane "load in" area. I mean insane. Other companies had big buses and way too many people for each guide available. Glad we launched so quickly and efficiently. Once underway they navigated the river and stopping spots with excellence and ease. Truly. They had a system and plan and made it feel like we were the only ones on a very busy river. Super sick trip and we are super thankful to their entire team. There were 2 groups booked the day of our rafting adventure and we lucked out and had our own raft and guide. The two rafts worked together and had a great report throughout the day. Once on the river our guides immediately pulled us to the side to jump off some rocks which set the tone for the fun to be had. The excursion went from one adventure to the next. The guides were extremely communicative. At no point in the day did I feel unsure, unsafe, or have a sense that I didn't know what was expected of me. Stopped by the Deschutes Brewery Tasting Room for their brewery tour on a weekday! Tour started at…read more4pm, and we were given a choice between four different beers to sip along the way. I opted for the Patagonia Provisions Organic Lager, and it was light and refreshing. Our tour guide was very informative and high energy. You can tell that employees take a lot of pride, especially since they're dubbed co-owners. The tour included a walk through of how beer is made and a peek inside their facilities. I'm not new to beer, so I wasn't sure how much I'd learn; however, my interest was piqued when our tour guide started talking about how sustainable Deschutes' practices are. They even treat their own water! We had some tastes along the way. My only critique is that our tour felt long (~ 2 hours) and there weren't many spots to sit, so be prepared to be on your feet the entire time. My partner and I stopped by the tasting room after - we didn't buy any cans, but enjoyed sampling the latest party bombs on tap. I loved the frozen version too! We left with merch, coupons for their downtown brewpub, and exclusive tour stickers!

We decided that this week we would explore the Deschutes Historical Museum as part of our weekly…read moreexploration adventure. We were not disappointed! Parking was easy. There is a parking lot at the museum, plus there is street parking. The museum is contained in a 100+ year old schoolhouse. The small gift shop has several books that we want to add to our collection thereby ensuring that we will return multiple times. We spent about an hour and a half studying the exhibits and did not see everything. For me the most interesting part was the railroad contribution to the logging industry. Next time I want to spend more time in the bicycle exhibit. Before we left, we had an interesting conversation with the friendly and helpful museum staff. This is a great place to learn about early Bend history.

Very knowledgeable, whimsical, lighthearted, and free spirited. The perfect person to lead an adventure into the Oregon wilderness. Our trip started with a short van ride from the Fred Meyer parking lot. She shared lots of knowledge about various trees in the area, wildlife, things the local government was doing to help clean up some of the territory we're gonna be going to explore the cave. She seemed like somebody who genuinely enjoys her job, likes to explore, and is just a genuine, good person all around. Going into the cave was surreal, almost like stepping into a different climate. It definitely felt like it was 45° all year round down there. Once we lost the natural lighting too it became very spooky, but everybody had headlamps so it was pretty easy to see where we were going. My wife and I saw a few baby brown bats hanging out on the walls while we were there. They were so tiny and cute! I'm glad they're able to survive down there. I really like that her tour guy gave us a choice between one of two directions into the cave. I have really bad knees, and thankfully, our tour guide, and our group was able to respect that. We had a very good lighthearted adventure down in the dark. My favorite part was when we all got to turn off our headlamps for a little bit, and stay silent, and just enjoy utter blackness. Deathly felt like a good way to de-stress a little. Shay was a fantastic tour guide and we are definitely going to be using this to our group again in the near future. Thanks for the memories!

Stargazing tour of meteor shower was not up to expectations. We were taken barely out of Bend. We…read morehad been told that groups had been out and had seen up to 100 meteor and that August 12th should be great. I think I saw maybe 20. My wife saw only 7. We took a blanket as instructed and basically sat in dirt for the evening. This wasn't a real dark sky experience. We saw more stars walking back to the van. People need to be told they need to bring a chair with zero reference to a blanket on the ground and that they will be taken slightly outside of Bend. There needs to be a better group huddle to point out what people are looking at and what to expect. We planned our trip around this outing almost a year in advance. It was far below expectations.

After purchasing the painting, Mary spent a long time talking to me about what the painting meant to her and what she hoped people would get out of her work--and listened with all kindness as I shared my own ideas about her paintings. If you get the opportunity to see Mary's work, see if you can still find anything from her crow or Day of the Dead series. Those are older collections--and just as amazing as her current work. She is both a nice lady and a beautiful artist.
