Theresa and Jeannie are the best art hostesses in Bend! They had everything set up and ready to go for our 12 friends and we all had a great time channeling our inner artist. We painted a Halloween inspired canvas and felt very comfortable as they navigated us through the step by step process of artistry. I would definitely have another painting party with them. Don't call anyone else.....call Theresa and Jeannie today and get scheduled for a fun and entertaining day of fun! Thank you so much for making Kevin's 60th so special!!!!

For the audience It's a quality performance. I don't think…read moreyou will be disappointed in the caliber of these kids. $15 per ticket for adults, $10 for 18 and under. It's a little pricey for a local children's performance, but meanwhile, pretty darn good show. For the actors It's a BIG time commitment. Four days a week, three hours each rehearsal. Three school nights and one weekend day. The environment is so chaotic that I don't think it's reasonable to expect to get any homework done. And pack dinner for yourself. For my daughter, it was a great getting to know all the other kids and forming friendships. It's a very supportive community. She will miss the friends she has made. For the parents Be prepared, this is one of the most disorganized and unprofessional groups I've ever been involved with. Communication is poor, spotty and forget about contacting them via email or phone, I reached out five times in five months (twice in response to emails they sent me) - nothing back, from any of them. My suggestion is to be at every rehearsal in order to ensure you get all the information you need. It's a chaotic environment, I get that, but a chaotic environment that the kids don't even enjoy. Very specific rehearsal schedule with my daughter often coming home that night to say that was not what they rehearsed and that she did nothing performance related for three hours. Pretty frustrating as an actor and a parent. And I do realize that trying to get a large group of kids organized has got to be pretty darn challenging. I totally recognize that what's not great for parents is often wonderful for kids. It wasn't until the last month of rehearsals that my daughter began to enjoy herself, meanwhile that means four months of her dreading it each night. A co-worker of mine had her son working the performance on the tech side. He's student at Summit High School and reported to his mom that the BEAT director was not nice to the Summit staff. The co-worker told me this unsolicited, I hadn't even mentioned my daughter's involvement with BEAT. Other than that, seemingly nice enough people. Just......wow, just need to get it together on the admin side. Pack a snack for your kiddo, it's going to be a long season.

They offer many different classes at various different skill levels. The environment is very welcoming and FUN! They allow you to film yourself on your phone so you can review and practice the routines at home which is so convenient and appreciated! They have a great variety of packages and memberships to choose from and their website is very easy to navigate. They maintain an updated class schedule online each week so you can view class descriptions and easily book yourself for whatever classes you'd like to attend. A lot of other pole dance studios oftentimes miss this important part of the customer experience unfortunately. They are a fairly new company, so they are starting to expand their merchandise which is cool. I bought a water bottle which I use a lot due to its small size, sleek look, and durability. Last but not least, the location and frosted windows offer privacy. It's too bad that I moved away from Bend, because I can't seem to find a pole dance studio as good as this one. I highly recommend going here even if you've never tried pole dancing before!

Wish we had more time with them! We still sing the praises of the learning style through play, adventures with Ted the Turtle, and the excellent memories with songs, performances, art projects, and good-byes that still make me misty-eyed! So much fun and a wholesome experience of a cohesive group. We are deeply appreciative of the humor in these 3 educators especially!

We've been with Seahorse Academy for 4 years. We've had all our kids in their swim lessons,…read moreincluding one of our kids who has autism with limited verbal communication. We tried community pool classes previously, and though our kids learned swim skills, they found the group experience more intimidating and less engaging since the instructor's attention was divided. Growth felt slow. Even though the classes accommodated our son with autism through having 1:1 special-needs helpers, the inconsistency of aides and instructors made it challenging for him and us, so we took a break for a season. It became stressful for all of us, and he wasn't gaining much skill in a group setting. Four years ago, we had a summer vacation planned that would involve a lot of beach time and swimming, so we felt the urgency to get our youngest ones water safe! They liked being in the water, but didn't have any basic safety skills mastered yet despite prior group lessons. We found Seahorse Academy, and thankfully, a couple spots opened up not long after being on the wait-list, and we have done private and semi-private lessons regularly ever since Seahorse was at the Bend golf club. Amanda has been so kind and encouraging and welcomed all our kids, including our son with autism. It was a relief to see her patience and care for him. She got to know each of our kids, met them at their level and kept lessons fun and engaging while also guiding them to gain skills and confidence. Our older kids did the swim team once they mastered skills, and our younger ones continue to take private lessons. Having the same instructor each week who knows them has made a big difference in our kids learning and maintaining skills. Thankfully, Seahorse's location on Greenwood has been more convenient for us, too, and we appreciate Amanda's attentiveness to keep chlorine levels safe and the pool clean. There's always something fun for my kids to play with or engage in while they wait their turn for lessons, plus changing stations, bathrooms, and a shower. Swim lessons like theirs can be pricey, but it's been a worthwhile investment in this season toward their safety and building an important life skill.

We had positive experiences at Seahorse Academy and genuinely wanted to continue. Unfortunately,…read moreafter I emailed the owner Amanda with straightforward scheduling questions, two months passed with no response despite multiple patient follow-ups. She finally responded when I held off paying an invoice, and rather than acknowledging the delay, she responded dramatically and defensively, made ridiculous accusations about my intentions, and abruptly removed my daughter from the schedule entirely. Despite my request for a conversation to repair/start over, she once again never responded. I had prepaid for my son's next session and was owed several makeups from Amanda's own cancellations (which I had also reached out about multiple times), but given the hostility, we decided we'd rather walk away and absorbed the loss. I later learned from other local parents that experiences like mine are not uncommon. Before enrolling, I'd encourage prospective families to read reviews carefully and also spend time on the website itself. Even the FAQ page, written by the owner, should give you pause.
