But equally as important to us was choosing a great wedding photographer who would capture our day, our love, family and the details that went into every decision made while planning our big day. We set out to find a photographer the same week. We did not know Benjamin but had seen his work among 3 other professional wedding photographers that we contacted. Two things we knew: one, we knew that we wanted someone who had proven strengths as a wedding photographer and two, we knew there would be cost for quality. I am not going to lie, it was not easy choosing. We have some amazing talent in Central Oregon and I know of the handful of photographers that we considered, we most likely would have been pleased with their work as individual artists. We chose Benjamin for a few reasons that stood out after looking at his work and interviewing him. He does have a talent for working with light that is pretty amazing. He has an eye for capturing the emotion of not only people but of the scene. He was quick to tailor our wedding package to our needs as well as including our engagement session as a gift. I think the engagement session is a must for any photographer to be able to get to know their clients and how photogenic or un-photogenic they are, their humor, their chemistry etc. For a photographer to know this importance to the point of including a pre-session of sorts as automatic is telling.
