I have always owned dogs and grew up in a home where my mother bred and showed Australian Shepherds. I've primarily had rescues vs. Aussies, but growing up in a home filled with many dogs has made me very picky about who I leave my dogs with when I travel, which I frequently do. I have friends who offer to keep my dogs, and I do not take them up on the offer. When I moved to Bend 11 years ago, the search for a reputable kennel started immediately. I researched all my options and interviewed them all. The only kennel that gave me comfort was Bend Pet Resort. I researched their facility, the owners and talked to everyone I could find who had an opinion. The first dog to get boarded at Bend Pet Resort was my elderly pup, Spencer. He was a rescue and before we adopted him, he had a very bad life. We pride ourselves on providing him a loving, happy home for the remainder of his years. Due to physical ailments and personality issues, he had some special needs, and Bend Pet Resort was there to help accommodate him. In fact, Spencer loved the time he spent there and was always happy to visit. The owners and team provided a loving stay for Spencer every time. Flash forward to us adopting a black lab rescue from a hoarding home. Bailey has stayed with Bend Pet Resort since we adopted him at 12 weeks. He had to have both his ACL's replaced and we boarded him shortly after the 2nd surgery due to work travel. Bend Pet Resort knew exactly how to help during Bailey's recuperation. I was a tad nervous he might re-injure himself, but they knew precisely how to handle him with walks, his accommodations, etc. And Bailey was fine. Now, he's 8 and gets so excited every time we turn into the driveway for his stay. Granted he barks the whole time he's there due to his quirky personality, he thoroughly enjoys his time there. Now, many years after his surgeries, he enjoys much play time and walks while he's there. Now, we have a 10 pound puppy to add to the mix. She and Bailey are boarded in separate rooms because they cannot eat together, but Bend Pet Resort has worked with us to ensure they are next to each other and get play times together while they are boarded. The owners have also helped coach me on handling an 85 pound dog along with a 10 pound pup. They provide me with advise and help with issues I have with my pups from time to time. I have nothing but respect for the owners and staff of Bend Pet Resort, and consider them part of my "tribe" and co-family to my fur babies. I know without a doubt my dogs are in the best, most capable hands while I'm away on work or vacation travel. I never worry while my dogs are under their care. There is no other kennel in the Central Oregon region I would have watch my dogs while I'm gone. These folks know what they are doing, are extremely experienced and truly care greatly for their guests and customers. My family and I have the utmost respect and trust in the owners and staff of Bend Pet Resort. We highly recommend them. Words can't express how incredible this place is and how amazing they were with my Paige! I recently had to leave the state to deal with the illness and eventual passing of my father. I was given MAYBE 2 days notice, and had nothing lined up for Paige. I emailed Bend Pet Resort, having never utilized their services in my life, and stated my concerns. My Paige can be fear aggressive with strangers. She's a rescue who tends to shut down in kennel environments. I didn't know how long I'd be gone. I needed to drop her off in the next 48hrs. The list went on. Their response? "No problem, we would love to have her." They explained the boarding process, outlined their facilities, and went on to ask all the right questions and confirm their understanding of dealing with nervous, fearful and aggressive dogs. They said all the right things to put my concerns at ease, though I was still worried since I've never left her with strangers or anyone other than my partner for any longer than a night. They emailed me regularly, letting me know how Paige was doing and sent me photos so I could see for myself how happy she was. The fact that she felt safe enough to show the staff just how much of a cuddly lap dog she is speaks VOLUMES of how incredible every member of the staff is at really caring for the dogs at their facility. The empathy they showed to me as her human and my situation was above and beyond. I picked her up today, and seeing for myself how comfortable and happy she was with every staff member she interacted with really solidified my love of this facility. I would have paid any dollar amount for the love and care Paige received in my absence. They charged me HALF of what I was anticipating. Man there are some whiners leaving crappy reviews for this place. I love the one about the place smelling...It's an animal boarding facility. Or the one crying about Ken telling them to take their dog back outside. There's only 2 or 3 signs stating that on your way in...Oh and the c0v1d Nazi review, If you're that uncomfortable then leave. Bunch of unrealistic whiny, pompous entitled people. So, my review on this place...We've been coming here since 2014 and board with them 2-4 times per year. They've always had openings and have been able to accommodate my three dogs. During holiday weekends you have to give them money to hold your reservation. (Simple economics of having to pay staff for working the holiday weekend and wanting to cover expenses). So don't cry when you lose your reservation because you didn't get your deposit in before someone else. Ken is fine, just generally quiet as he's probably thinking about some of the stupid people he has to deal with. His staff are always friendly and good with the dogs. My dogs are pretty intuitive and won't budge if they don't like going somewhere. But, every time we pull up the staff are happy to see them and my dogs go willingly without a whine (unlike some of the reviewers). The best part is when we get back to pick them up they are happy, worn-out from being outside during play times and the staff give me a full run down on how they did. My dogs are safe here, treated well, and fed. I'd highly recommend this place unless you're one of the above mentioned reviewers. If that's you then just go somewhere else. I have boarded our 23 month old black lab at Bend Pet Resort 4 times. This clean and peaceful facility is located in a beautifully forested area in southeast Bend, unlike other facilities I've researched in the Bend/Redmond area. Just behind the check-in counter is a large room with glass doors, resembling a dog park, where several "day care" dogs run around playing and entertaining themselves with the coming and going of people and dogs through the office. Through the windows to the right of the desk are several individual rooms, with a T.V., for those wishing "1st class" boarding. Not only are they a business - they know and love dogs. While checking in my dog recently for boarding, I asked one of the owners if she thought my dog was the ideal weight. She suggested he lose a few pounds and fed him accordingly while I was gone. I returned to a happy, leaner, and healthier dog. Our dog likes being dropped off there. The transfer is easy and he willingly goes with the care-taker, never looking back. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly. The last time I boarded our dog, I mixed up my return date. At 4 pm on the day I was supposed to pick him up, I received a message asking if I was coming to pick him up. When I didn't answer, the owners called my husband and were flexible regarding my return. I appreciate their attention to detail and the individual care our dog receives. I never worry about his well-being while we're away. I am writing this review amidst my own selfish desires to gatekeep my new favorite groomer in town but it's just too good not to share. Below is a photo of my child, Dexter. He is a gentle soul who is tied to me at the hip. Like many of our babies, he is afraid of things like visits to the vet and hectic grooming salons. Well, recently I discovered Branden Herrera at Bend Pet Resort, and I am absolutely blown away by the level of care, compassion, and kindness at this establishment. Branden kept me updated with photos to let me know how Dex was doing, and I am certain he was treated like royalty from start to finish. Dexter came in for a summer cut. He has a thick undercoat and gets very hot during Oregon summers. Branden was very thorough in the de-shed process, and even shaved his belly to help keep him cool. He coat feels the softest it's ever felt, and he hasn't shed a single fur ball since coming home. The folks at BPR are hands down the best humans I have encountered for grooming services. They are gentle, patient, thorough, honest, and passionate about what they do. They also offer day care and boarding services. Personally, I think they could be charging more than double for this level of service- but it truly seems their hearts are in the right place, and they are here for the animals (and their owners). This place is one of the best I have experienced, I was reading these reviews. These negative reviews are ment for the previous owners and it seems like people only use yelp for nnegative reviews, which seems ultimately unfair. The new owners are amazing the staff is wonderful. The facility is clean and comfortable. My dog loves being here. I have been to several boarding facilities and have had in home care for my dog and he has had the best reaction to Bend Pet Resort. I was initially skeptical due to the negative reviews, but once I stopped in met the staff and voiced my concerns they comforted me imimmediately. They shown me the dates the purchased this business and remodeled it. The dates for these reviews are for the previous owners and it looks like Google reviews are more accurate. My dogs reaction after spending Thanksgiving week here was the best I could have asked for. He did not want to leave and ran up to the staff wanting to stay when we were leaving. My dog was able to get a bath and deshedd before leaving as well as got his nails shortened. He has a Christmas reservation and everytime I jokingly mention going to the pet resort he runs up to my door excited. TLDR: Staff is amazing, take amazing care of your dog, go above and beyond to make sure your 4 legged best friend has a great time. If you are looking for a place to board your dog look no further. I was looking for a place that takes care of dogs with difficult histories and struck gold. My 9yr old corgi barks and pulls on leash and has a bite history, they listened when we explained his triggers and assured us that they are comfortable working with his issues. Not only did he come home happy and safe, he got to play with other chill dogs (something I NEVER thought could happen) and they asked if they could groom him. I NEVER thought he would tolerate the sounds and the touching which at home he gets snippy about, but they said he was a star. They brushed out his undercoat and ground his nails and he is so soft and clean, they did an amazing job. Seriously, they know what they are doing, they listen to your instructions on what works best for your pet, and make sure your fur baby has a good time. read more

Ken and Kathy are awesome people! Our three dogs happily hop out of the car ready for their dog-stay-cation. It's truly disheartening to hear all the negative comments about their services. We've been going for 7 years. Sad that people don't read all the signs posted up with clear instructions about "leaving your dogs in the car when checking in". Also as a disabled Latina Veteran- I have never been treated in a disrespectful manner or felt that these amazing folks were racist. Sadly people have to say mean things when they don't get their way. There isn't any other place in town we would leave our furry animal family members with than Ken and Kathy. Hopefully they can find good Employees who are willing to work and care. Ken won't ever risk the care of our animals if he's short staff and will decline taking your animals if he can't give them the 100% care they deserve! read more

This place is absolutely amazing and the new owners and staff are some of the most friendly and caring in the animal industry that I have gotten to experience. They truly make my dog not want to leave there facility I am so happy to be able to have this be my dogs 2nd home I have lived in Bend since 1981. I have watch this place be a staple of the community through several owners. My parents and grandparents have been bringing their dogs for over 30 years & I have watched this place grow and become amazing over these years and have seen new buildings added. And now with the new owners they have really turned this place around with all of the remodels they have been doing and their amazing positive attitudes! This place is horrible. Ken granacki the owner is a sick sick man who blackmails his employees and tries to solicit sexual services from them. I hope this man gets a sexual harassment lawsuit because he truly deserves it. Not only is he a pervert but he is also a deeply disturbed narcissist this man needs medication. Not only does ken try to have sexual relations with employees I've also heard him many times call his employees things like "idiot" and " stupid." As far as kennel quality goes id say mediocre the owner is really what brings this place down and I'm assuming a sexual harassment lawsuit is coming his way. We have been taking our Mastiff to Bend Pet Resort for the past year - twice for kenneling and weekly for doggy day care - and we are very pleased with all aspects of the facility. We find the staff to be very dog friendly, very knowledgeable about dog care and feel that they truly have the dogs best interest in mind. Our Mastiff is beside himself with excitement each time we drop him off for daycare that he literally jumps out of the car to play with his friends. We feel totally comfortable leaving him for a week or so while we are vacationing knowing that he will not only be well cared for but that he will get the pets & hugs that are so important especially to a growing puppy. I usually use a different boarding facility but I have switched to Bend Pet Resort from various recommendations, I am always skeptical of new places so I stopped by several times to get comfortable with leaving my dogs at a new boarding facility. I spoke with Abigail and Nathaniel, they both made me feel really comfortable about leaving my dogs here due to the bad experience we had at the other boarding facility we normally use. My husband picked up our dogs and they were beyond happy and did not want to leave and they were tuckered out and ready for a nap after playing all week! The facility is clean and well kept! I have 4 dogs that are really untrusting of humans and I had to go out of town on an emergency basis due to my mother being in hospice. It was after hours and I happend to pull in to the parking lot and see the workers walking dogs around the trails. I rushed to them and begged them to help us out. They contacted the owners and they showed up and helped us out in our last minute situation. I just picked my dogs up and they were so well taken care of and happy it warms my heart to know I can take them to a boarding facility and they will be loved and they spoiled my dogs! I have been in transition to moving back to Central Oregon from hawaii.. and during the back and forth flights and moving, i had to leave my dogs there for 1 1/2 months and I was very nervous as due to my last boarding experience in Hawaii wich left my dogs very shaken up. and I have got to say thank you to the staff and New Owners over at the Bend Pet Resort. We had our dogs boarded at Bend Pet Resort for a long weekend while we were out of town. This was the first time we ever left our dogs anywhere. This place is AWESOME. Our pups loved it there, I think they were actually sad to leave when we picked them up. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. They obviously love what they do and are so good with their care. The facility is amazing, the attention and love our furry family members received was top notch. I am excited to be able to take our pups for daycare there so they can enjoy their other furry friends and the park like setting while we work. I was unsure of going here due to some of the reviews directed at the previous owners of this buisness I decided to give them an actual try because I had such a bad experience at a different boarding facility and needed a place to board last minute. My margotè is absolutely in love with this place She also gets groomed there with each stay, and to find someone willing to groom my bernadoodle has been a challenge until I started going here. Only dog hotel/daycare I trust in Bend. I have been going to Bend Pet Resort for about a year now and they have always maintained excellent and friendly service. I recently moved across town and they got my dog in last minute on various occasions. I have a Collie who LOVES to bark however, the owners have always treated her with patience and love. Just recently I was late to pick-up from daycare due to an emergency and the owner was understanding and forgiving. He stayed open late until I was able to get there. We've been wanting to write this review for a long time and kept forgetting. A few months back, our family took a last minute trip to Bend with our golden retriever to look at houses to purchase. We needed to drop our pup off quickly and just decided to walk in and ask. We were treated with a warm welcoming by the female owner and she immediately offered for our dog to stay for the day.
