There is a lot to like about this place! First, we had great interactions with the staff--everyone from security to merch vendors to bartenders. Getting in was a breeze, probably one of the fastest entries I've experienced. I was a little taken aback by the prices of food and beverage here, because I naively assumed it would be cheaper than Portland. Ended up being more expensive than some music venues we frequent here. This is not the venue's fault, but the majority of the people attending the show we went to love to stay seated. It was strange to be (literally) one of the only handful of people who stood through the set and actually danced/swayed to the music. It honestly put a bit of a damper on the show because the energy of the crowd was so...meh. I'm not sure if this a regional thing or not, but it's something to be aware of if you prefer hype crowds for shows. This venue has a great view of the river. In fact, you'll likely see people in kayaks and boats floating past during the show. It would be great to experience a show that way sometime. Overall, this would be a great venue to see a more laid back show!

I've been to a fair number of beer festivals around the country. My experience is that the really…read morepopular ones are total zoos - wall-to-wall crowds, long lines for beer, inadequate facilities. Not the Bend Brewfest. Arriving on Saturday, we found a good-sized but manageable crowd, virtually no lines for beer, easy entrance and plenty of port-a-potties. Awesome. More brands of beer than you can shake a stick at, with lots of types. If you like beer and didn't find at least several good beers here, well, you don't like beer. One negative: the festival puts out a hugely comprehensive guide book (not booklet) listing the beers, activities, logistical details, etc. But what it didn't have - and it's something that's properly become standard for those selling craft beer across the country - were the ABVs for the beers. I don't like drinking high alcohol beer, so I pay attention to the ABV. At the brewfest, that required checking out the beer detail sheet laid out on the tables at the various vendors before deciding on whether to try it. All the vendors supplied the ABV, so it should have been listed in the guide book. Other than that, no complaints. Great festival!

We got there right as they opened on Saturday and were greeted by Hannah who was absolutely amazing. I had a white flight and my husband had the red. We had our two littles with us and ordered them a cheese plate and Capri suns. Our kids thought this was the coolest. We also had a dog with us so we sat outside - Hannah was so on top of our drinks and describing all of the new wines. I also ordered a frose because why not? It was amazing. We ended up walking away with three bottles as well. Love Evoke and hope to make it back here more often - but until we do we will enjoy the wines being delivered!

I don't condone whatever the man did that led to him being removed, and if he was causing problems, he absolutely should have been escorted out. But the guy was clearly intoxicated, and the amount of force being used seemed completely unnecessary. People around us were yelling that he couldn't breathe, and whether that was true or not, the whole situation was disturbing to watch. It honestly felt like we were watching someone get beaten up. I understand security has a difficult job, but this didn't seem professional. It completely ruined the night for all of us, and none of us feel comfortable coming back after what we saw. There are plenty of bars in Bend where you can have a good time without witnessing something like this, and we'd rather spend our money at those places instead. Go to Astros instead!

Caught a Friday night concert here and overall had a blast. Parking in the lot is pretty limited, so we ended up finding street parking around back. Sound was a little rough in spots and definitely felt like a few things could've been worked out during sound check, but it never ruined the show. The bar was a mixed bag. My non-alcoholic pineapple cider was surprisingly delightful, super refreshing and not overly sweet. Free water is also available from the hydration station, which I appreciate in theory, but unfortunately the water tasted pretty terrible. They advertised pizza and had a pizza warmer at the bar, but we never actually saw any pizza available that night. My biggest complaint was the alcohol service. We watched one older guy put away four beers within about three songs, and shortly afterward he drunkenly fell into me. Definitely felt like a situation where someone should've been cut off sooner. That aside, we still had a genuinely fun night. Great staff, cool atmosphere, good lighting and an intimate setup that makes for a fun concert experience. With a little tighter sound and bar management, this place could be excellent.
