Worst customer service & management is horrible. The workers act like they can't hear or see you. Never will I ever come back

They published that the first bingo session starts at 6pm. It's 7:30 and straight bingo hasn't even started. Nothing happened for the first hour and now we've had 40+minutes of pull tab games. This place won't last. They've managed to make bingo not fun. Edit: it's 8:25 and we played 3 of the 5 games. Now they are playing a bunch of tab games before starting the 4th jackpot game. They totally ripped off a friend of mine. It was the first time we went. They said they didn't take her number and it was her responsibility to get them to take her number. The young girl just didn't do her job. The guy also said the rules were called out (not that it matters since they didn't follow them anyway) and that doesn't matter since we couldn't understand the caller either. He also pointed way across the room to the (maybe, I could not see them) rules and said they were written for people to read. If my friend called "BINGO!" and the lady came to the table to acknowledge it, we followed the rules. They dropped the ball. They were too busy catering to people who were buying pull tabs to pay attention and do their jobs. The caller's voice was irritating and hard to understand. STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY. read more

Won a bingo that was acknowledged by the caller. Girl selling pull tabs came over confirmed the bingo and then started selling pull tabs again. Too busy selling to actually complete my bingo. I went to the desk and some guy told me that it was my responsibility to get a person to confirm the bingo. I explained the situation and he said "read the rules" which are posted on a sign at the furthest end of the hall. Even though caller remembered my win, her only response was "I don't have anything to do with the money." The calls were hard to understand and voice was low. Got more help from other players than any staff member. Sloppy calls and staff. Go to any of the much better halls in Austin, but no this one. read more

Heads up, do not play or pay for the early bird and speed bingo games; TOTAL SCAM.... if you win they pay you only in pull tabs - NOT CASH. Let me repeat that -NOT CASH. So, you might get lucky to get a number/horse from the pay tabs...but again if you win from that number/horse; they will pay you with a voucher (to return at a later date) and get a free bingo machine.... So, just pay/play the REGULAR (10) bingo games.......they have to pay you CASH MONEY, instead of those pull tabs.... FYI, games started at 6:30 p.m. and we did not leave until 10:30 p.m., because they play at least 20 different pull-tab games throughout the night in between the regular bingo games. This made the whole time longer than normal. So, we suggest that you plan on only playing the bingo games and not mess with the speed bingo --with those crazy pulltabs. Take you a deck of cards or your iPhone, so you can kill time while they mess with the pull tab games. read more

This place is easy: BYOB, BYOfood, cheap plays ($2 packet) and a low-smoke Room. They call it smoke free but the smoke lingers. All the people have been friendly and helpful! Free beer and water on Fridays. We've been twice in 2 weeks! read more

Ben White Bingo is back at it with 2-3 sessions an evening, a full menu of snacks, plenty of fountain sodas, and a BYOB(everage) of your choice. This is the perfect place to post up with some friends on any night the bingo place is open. You are allowed to bring your cooler with you & drinks if you are cool about it and don't cause a scene when settling down and/or enjoying yourself & your company as you play bingo. I would call before heading over as some nights they are closed. Be sure to bring cash if you plan on using the papers issued for the bingo games. You don't need cash at the register but for those Penny Paper nights it's silly not to bring cash. Computers are easy to use & self explanatory - they do everything for you for a small $8 per computer. I recommend signing up for their text messages as Ben White Bingo will text you 1x weekly to remind you of any specials and/or events they are having. Dobbers are $1.25 and snacks at the snack stand range from 50 cents to $3-$4 at the most. Also - if you don't come early and set up your area or claim seats on the closed in/non-smoking side before the session will be forced to sit on the 'Smoking' side of the place which can be pretty rough if you are not used to smoke around you and/or not smoking. Otherwise if you don't mind the smoke you will have plenty of room to spread out all of your good luck trinkets you brought with you to help you win some big money! read more

I don't recommend coming to this location. They are so disorganized and the washrooms are so dirty.

First time experience was awful. The employees do not communicate with each other about when the games start. Their directions are unclear and they clearly don't appreciate getting paid to do nothing. They are always in a rush to get table to table and not polite. Super smokey when you walk in, but they have a non smoking room where there is food that makes it a better environment to play bingo. The staff were very helpful when I asked questions about which game we were on and where certain things were located. Pretty cheap place to win a lot of money. Sometimes they have free entries which is awesome b/c you can end up paying nothing but walking out with hundreds. Overall, not that bad of a place to play bingo so go check it out. read more

Aside from the smoke pouring into the non-smoke section, this place was fairly fun! The people we sat around were so welcoming to my husband and I, who haven't been to Bingo in SO LONG, I guess we looked a little confused. This woman next to us even gave us her computer to use before she left, so we knew how they worked for next time. Everything's very fast paced (naturally), and the French fries we had as a snack were surprisingly good! Will definitely be coming back to this bingo. read more

My girlfriend works here it's a fun place to go and gamble since gambling is illegal in Texas.you can bring your own drinks and food, but they have a snack bar with some great food as well. Its only 2 dollars a session so it's cheaper then other bingo halls and the staff is friendly too read more

I love going to Bingo! It's a great atmosphere here. It's pretty smoky if you walk in the front door but you can always just come in the side door and never have to walk through that section. It doesn't bother me much either way. The staff is always great! Everyone is super nice (except one of the girls at the main desk... she's rude sometimes but it's understandable when you have 19 people in line staring at you to hurry up). The runners are all pretty great. Some better than others but they all have their good nights. I do have two complaints but they aren't worth a bad grade. It gets super hot in non smoking (I'm not sure about the smoking section). It might be just because it's always so crowded but if something could be done about that, people would be much happier. My second complaint isn't actually about the bingo hall exactly. There is a man and sometimes a woman with him who is obnoxious as all get out. He always sits in Little Non Smoking. He's an older, short, chubby-ish black man. During horse races, he continually yells out the number that he needs, so loud that you can't hear the announcer. And he stands up and jumps around while yelling. I understand that you can get excited but it's super annoying. Also, DURING the games, he calls out the numbers that he needs... he yells stuff like "don't make me come up there and reshake those balls for you James", or "I know I don't need to teach you how to pick the right balls James" "I need a 7 James!" "Come on James!" Or! When you have children with you and the number O69 is called.. "oohh James! You called my favorite number James! 69 is my favorite number" - some people laugh at him but most find him super annoying but no one makes him stop because he comes in with stacks of 100's and I guess he tips very well.. I get that the runners depend on Tips, but ... my family and friends will stop coming unless someone makes him stop. Or at least calm down a bit. You can tell he does it for attention bc he always looks around after he says stuff, to see whose watching him. It's ridiculous. When we first walked into this place it was SUUUUPER smokey but we realized that there was a non smoking section in the back which was really nice- I don't think I could have stayed if we had to sit among all the smoke. Out cards were only $2 each and our markers were only $1 each so very affordable! The staff was really nice and readily provided assistance whenever we needed it! We didn't win but it was still pretty fun! read more

i go to this bingo all the time but it is getting to bad James do not shake the ball when you tell him to shake the ball up he tells you that they shacking as he walking very disrespectful and stop and go smoke a cigarette and the runners won't come when you call them for pull tabs and when ask for the owner number they tell you they don't have it i think the owner should come and talk to the customer sometimes read more

Had a great time here last night. VERY affordable. Would recommend doing cards and computers and the computers do the work for you. Plus all kinds of little $1 tickets are sold for additional bingo wins throughout the night which makes it even more fun and interesting. Had some big winners with our group which was super cool. I will definitely be going back. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because when you walk through the front entrance, you will feel like you are back in the 70's or 80's. SUUUUUUPER smoky area. When you first get there, not so bad, but when you leave, you will want to run to the exit and cover your mouth, hair, and clothes if you are a non smoker so that you are not taking it with you. Its a bit shocking to me that people are still allowed to smoke like that in public places but atleast they have a non smoking area and although I read reviews stating that it lingers into those areas, it did not last night. I smelled no smoked in that area which was nice. Would definitely recommend given this a try. Big mix of people of all ages as well and apparently its all free for you if its your birthday:-) also, it does get a bit crowded so could get a little warm so be prepared for this if you are a person that doesn't do well in warmer conditions. other than these things, great time and again affordable for a night out with friends or family! read more

I play in bingo in North Austin all the time. I happened to be in South Austin so I thought I would give it a try. I will never be back. The staff was rude. The runners didn't listen and would pass you by without even helping even though I had money in the air for tabs. The speed bingo was way to fast to even get a call in for bingo. I understand it's "speed" bingo but by the time he called the number and you opened your mouth to call bingo he was already on the next number. They don't play sleepers. There were a lot of people who missed bingos. It says on the door you can't bring in outside food but a lot of people did. The caller kept saying he couldn't hear people calling bingo but there aren't microphones and the runners don't help by yelling bingo louder and the runners don't have walkie talkies. The only positive was they played ALOT of pull tabs. Probably four times more than North Austin. But that didn't make up for all the negative. read more

i used to love this bingo hall but here lately i have one particular runner by the name of chelsey that is most of the time very rude and has an extremly bad attitude. i have been playing at this location for years and i really don't think i want to return. tiffany is also a problem. she only listens and takes up for the employess and us customers are the reason they are still in business. ive noticed alot of people have stopped playing bingo at this location. they are very unprofessional. restrooms are always nasty and there is no ventilation in the smoking session. all of the ceiling fans have not been dusted or cleaned in years. i started out playing when it was b-12 bingo so i've been around for a long time. everybody else is cool but that chelsey needs a reality check. i'm really considering never coming back to this unprofessional establishment. my boyfriend and i spend too much money for your staff to think they can talk to there customers any kind of way and get away with it. read more
