Took our 2014 f-150 with 60000 miles on it and usual rust On a trade in and never discussed a trade in price, instead kept us busy with h cheap talk so the end result was a trade in of about 4000. We were devistated once we figured out what they did. Can't think of anyone who would have accepted that, what an insult . Shows you what kind of people run this business. So we are screwed out of about 6000. I could have sold it for 10000 cash if they would have had the common decent courtesy to let us know what they were giving us for a trade in. After a long search I ended up with Ben Davis Ford. I worked with Jacob who in the end got me in the vehicle that I was looking for at a reasonable price. They were fair with me and Jacob did a great job after the sale explaining additional features and answering any questions that I had. I would highly recommend getting pre-approved with your own financing prior to purchasing. I was charged a $195 loan origination fee that I did not expect. I moved to Indiana right after college from SC. I knew nothing about cars or costs of maintenance at that time. I went to Ben Davis since I had a Ford Escape. They were always good to me with fair prices regarding regular oil changes, etc. It wasn't until I ran over a curb, popped my tire and messed up all sorts of other stuff on my car that I realized how great they really were. They kept my costs as low as they could knowing I was paying for everything on my own and not relying on my parents. They updated me every step of the way and took such good care of me and my car. Went in there looking to buy a new truck. Was told that I needed a 5000$ down payment. In the mean time they ran my credit report 7x and dropped my credit score by 42 points. Now they are telling me I need 9000$ down. When asked why I was told that the salesman don't have any control over down payments. So why did mine tell me I needed 5000$ then. read more

Bought a used Fusion and asked for a thorough inspection prior. Was assured all was well. A couple months later, brakes went out. Then the shocks. Now the pulleys, water pump and coolant system all has to be replaced. This didn't happen in the time we've had it. Called them to discuss and it was basically "too bad, it's you're problem now." I had been looking all over for a vehicle and being from Fort Wayne I was really looking to stay in Fort Wayne. I found a few vehicles I wanted to take a look at up in Auburn at Ben Davis Ford, Inc. First off let me tell you I am so glad I made the drive. The first weekend I went I met my salesman Jerry Shroads and I will tell you that I couldn't have met a nicer person he was great very easy going, funny, not your typical let me tell ya what I'm gonna do for you salesman. I didn't find anything I liked that weekend. Jerry gave me a few calls during the week. I was busy I didn't have a chance to return them. He didn't call me incessantly he didn't text me over and over like some of the competition did one of them 18 times!!! He let me set the pace. I contacted him the next weekend went up looked at another vehicle test drove it and bought it. Auto Body is a total joke. Took Chevy Dually in for Insurance Work. $15k worth of work. Took 6 weeks workmanship zero quality. Fenders not aligned, huge gaps is grill, hood opened but not shut, fenders still bent, loads of missing bolts, loads of missing parts, tailgate not working, inner fender wells fell out in 50 miles, right door fell off in 100 miles(only 3 of 12 bolts installed). Took to other FW area dealer, took $18k to get it right, most of it redo of BD work. Won't provide me with itemized receipt. Used starting fluid on truck because too ignorant to figure out real issue, broken fuel filter housing. Created 26 photo PowerPoint presentation asking for them to review my issues. No response after 2 weeks. Truck was unfit mechanically to drive, they claim they test drove it several times, odometer indicates it never left lot. 3 weeks after picking truck up the BD sales department called wanting to buy truck...I said make offer. Cody the general manager offered me 1/2 of KBB value stating the condition of body work was so bad it needed lots of repair. Hmmm even he recognized the horrid workman ship of his organization. I went into Ben Davis to buy a 2008 Escape for $8,995 . After filling out a credit app I sat there for 2 hrs and I was beginning to think they forgot about me when he finally did get back to me I was told that they could not approve me for a 2008 but I was approved for a 2014 at $12,000 They told me the reason I was turned down for the 2008 was it was too old. I think any good salesman should sell you the car you want and not what they want you to have. All they want is your money so they try to sell you the higher priced one even if you don't want it. I wanted the 2008 and since they wouldn't sell it to me I went someplace else where they treat people as people and not dollar signs. read more

What a nightmare! So glad we dodged this disaster of a dealership because the sales manager Nate wouldn't call us back. I called one time and was transferred SIX times, on the 7th answer by the receptionist I asked for a supervisor and she told me "STOP BEING SNIPPY WITH ME" and hung up on me. All I wanted was an email address because the sales manager asked me to send him a picture. Sorry....I didn't realize I was asking you to do something akin to rocket science or that I needed to be transferred six times for that piece of information, after your tantrum I also feel I should apologize for asking for someone who could help me when you couldn't do a simple task, I was selfishly thinking of myself and my wasted 10 minutes on the phone that resulted in me still not getting what I needed. I have learned my lesson, you are the almighty receptionist, it's your way or no way and customer service is not your strong suit. I won't call again. After no return phone calls on the vehicle we were inquiring about we received an email days later telling us it was sold. They clearly advertised a price on a new 2018 F150. The truck was still in stock and the stock number matched the ad. I was told they could not sell the truck at the advertised price, there had been a mistake made and the price was too low. Very unsatisfactory business practice. The old bait and switch or even worse they just would not honor the price in their ads for the exact truck. The price advertised was low but not unreasonably low for a truck that will soon be replaced by new models. Be careful. read more

Service department manager Travis i one of the most dishonest man I've ever dealt with. After replacing motherboard (back up camera screen/radio) it started going out again within a month. Took it back to him, he told me it was just my Sirius Radio channels not coming in. Thought that was kind of odd took it to Ohio Ford dealer and they stated it was going out and under warranty and replace it for free. This is not the first nor second time Travis has misled me I will no longer be buying my vehicles at this location if this is the terrible service department I have to deal with read more

John Mohre is a great sales guy. He gets it. He may be the only one left there that does. His rating is a full 5 stars. The rest of the experience with buying a vehicle there is terrible. The deal was done, I had a check to pay for the Expedition in my hands and still had to spend 30 mins with the finance guy going over finance options. I showed him the check and his answer was "it's company policy." After owning it, it was nearly 45 days before we received the paperwork to get the title. They collected the wrong amount of sales tax and refused to refund the overage. Finally got that straight. It was a 1 year old vehicle, Certified Preowned with a longer warranty. The tailgate is corroding. Not covered by any warranty. They won't repair it. No problem. Later within the year, the auto lift on the tailgate stopped working. With a warranty of 48,000 miles, bumper to bumper factory warranty according to the dealer provided paperwork, the electrical is not covered. Even after showing them the paperwork with covered areas highlighted where it says electrical, they agreed to implement a $100 deductible. After buying a new truck at Kelly Chevrolet, I see the real difference in how a dealership should treat a customer. read more

Worst experience of my life. I bought a used car from ben davis less than 2 years ago. Its in the shop AGAIN. This car is in such bad shape its a miracle i haven't been killed driving this car.
