When I walked in with, the gentleman who assisted me told me more about the clock than I knew (American-made, about 140 years old). Alex cleaned and oiled it and gave me a new key to wind it because the old key was stripped. I thought the price was reasonable. Clock bongs away happily now. Alex now is repairing my 50 year old Seiko wrist watch after figuring out what had worn out. Can't wait to get it back. Alex is a man of few words but knows his clocks and watches. Based on the foot traffic when I've been there, I'm not the only one who trusts his expertise. One comment: cash or check only.

They also have a loyalty program, so if you spend a certain amount of money, you get a discount for the next year. In addition to being a retail store, West Seattle Runner is also involved in the local community. For example, they offer free weekly running groups and events with physical therapists. I personally think he was overcharging $5-$10 per service performed (in this case, two). However, he is an expert with years of experience and one of the very few watch makers available in the area. Also, you don't have to ship your watch if you don't want to (like many places require nowadays). There are various ATM's close-by within walking distance. It took Mike about 15 minutes and I would recommend but, must know he is firm with his business and signs are posted that sales are final whether your watch works afterwards or not.

I generally just wear my Apple Watch so this one was collecting dust, but when I tried to replace it myself, I dint feel confident and put the pin back. They were closed on Monday so I left a voicemail to confirm the service and just stopped by. Upon replacing the battery, she mentioned that there was a run missing to hold the watch strap in place and she offered to fix that as well for an extra couple bucks! I sat inside the establishment while we worked, and she got it all done in less than 10 or so minutes for under 40. It was rather pleasant experience, Would definitely recommend.

One day, my husband found the Watchworks on Google and gave it a try. He was very happy with the work, and he recommended me to replace my watch battery here. I actually got my watch battery replaced in Japan during a recent trip, but less than a year the watch started to stop suddenly. It would restart again if I turned the knob. Until one day, no matter how hard I turned the knob, I just couldn't get it moved again. I came to the Watchworks. I told Karen that I might have got a battery of poor quality, and I asked her to replace. She immediately replaced the battery, but the watch still couldn't move. She started to examine closely and identified the problem was on the movement, not the battery. She explained to me that she would need to order parts to get it fixed and that it might take a few more weeks. Two weeks later, Karen called and informed me that the shipment she had received was not good, so she had to reorder, which would take a longer time. Another passed, Karen called me that my watch was ready for pick up. I went to pick up my watch. My watch now is working again! Yay! The price was reasonable. The battery replacement costs $20. The total for movement repair and battery replacement was $65 + tax. It's hard to find such a reasonable price these days.
