So I've had Ben & Jerry ice cream from a grocery store but never visited an actual store location before. There were actually 2 locations close together. One a stand inside Quincy Market & the other a storefront right outside. We went to the storefront. It looks like your typical ice cream shop with the addition some cute signage. I chose to try the Cherry Garcia. When I think of Ben & Jerry's that's the 1st flavor that comes to mind. It was loaded with chocolate chunks but I only got a couple of cherries. This location of the BJ chain empire is in the storefronts surrounding (not in) Quincy Market, next to Newbury Comics. It is an excellent pit stop in the area for something blue. Blue is my favourite type of food. It could be candy (the most superior flavour of all of the Sour Patch children), pancakes (RFK will take the blue food dye only from my cold dead hands), or anything else, even ice cream. My point is, blue food can be blueberry, sour raspberry, blue cherry like a Gatorade, watermelon-flavoured like the Blue Milk in Disneyland, or several other miscellaneous lab-grown flavours I am not quite sure what they taste like until the Mondelez Corpos tell me what flavour I am supposed to be tasting in my flavour hole. Point is, blue food just makes me happy. With the world on fire in a number of different ways, both literally and figuratively, it is time for more blue food than ever before. I suppose that makes me "blue pilled" but does that really apply to me specifically since I am allergic to soy and hence cannot be a soy boy? Summers ago the main delight of flying in/out of Love Field frequently was the Baskin Robbins kiosk in the airport which had a rare blue coloured ice cream, it was called Beach Day and I ordered it before (flying out) or after (flying in) every flight. For some reason they pulled it and I could never find it again in any airport BR, so I stopped patronizing the BR kiosks in airports. What do you think of them apples, BR?!? Quincy Market is not an airport but I did not see much blue food elsewhere outside of the BJ. In fact, the worst sashimi I ever had at Ueno (to be reviewed separately) inside Quincy probably actually would have been better had they squirted some blue food colouring on it since despite all of the other complaints I had about the worst sashimi in the world, I could not say it was at least blue the way they delivered it to me. I had just briskly sashayed out of an extremely crowded Newbury Comics next door. So people were out and about in Quincy at that time of the day. Yet there was zero line at BJ next door. If I see a blue option I am getting it, so I went in directly on the marshmallow sky. Marshmallow Sky is BJ's absolute best flavour since it is blue, the rest of the details matter slightly less. It is marshmallow ice cream with marshmallow swirls & gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough & chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough. I like marshmallows. I spend a lot of money at that gourmet marshmallow stand in Disney Springs when they have the key lime flavour in stock but thing is, they do not have a blue coloured one. In ice cream, the marshmallow pull is just as good, but even better when it pulls on blue coloured ice cream like here in BJ. I have never seen this flavour in a supermarché, but I will desitively be looking for it now. Added bonus, bring the ice cream out to the benches just outside Quincy and listen to the buskers on the street. When I was there the guy was strumming a rendition of Pink Pony Club to end his set, the only highlight of the Oilers' last postseason run, IYKYK, which was funny since the second before that rendition had begun I had just completed a detailed explanation to the lieutenant about how great Brad Marchand was as a human in general and I meant that independently of his help ensuring the Oilers were denied Lord Stanley a second year in a row. It was like the universe was listening to make connections and it sent a rendition of Pink Pony Club out into the endless audient void. While it is a chain: service was quick, the blue ice cream was delightful, and there was music from buskers nearby. So I don't know what else you could want or /reasonably/ expect from a chain ice cream shoppe. Four stars. If Marchy licked my face at the register I'd give it five stars, but I was not a very skilled skater (stopping is hard) so I never went semi-pro in Nova Scotia or actually pro to get the chance on the ice to be licked by Marchy like so many other players experienced over the past 25 years. read more

I came to Ben & Jerry's for Free Cone Day. I actually stopped by the Seaport location first, but the line was insane, so I came by this location on my way home from work. While the line was pretty long, it only took 15-20 minutes. In retrospect, maybe it would have made more sense to just come by on a regular day and pay, but this way seemed more fun. It was a nice day out and I was happy to find some outdoor seating. Usually there are some spots open to sit inside as well, but it was way too busy that day. No need to review the ice cream itself, we all know Ben & Jerry's always hits the spot! read more

Ben and Jerry in quincy market was great. There icecream are always delicious. The reason I am posting a 5 star review is that they were very accommodating for food allergies. We explained them about my child's severe dairy allergies. The server washed hand. Washed scoop. Opened a new dairy free box to serve him..showed us all ingredients. Gave a cone from new box etc. My child who is not able to eat outside loved the experience. And was able to eat dairy free. The server was great. She went above and beyond. My recent visit to Ben & Jerry's in Boston Seaport was decent. I ordered their strawberry milkshake and a chocolate sundae. The taste of both items was consistent with expectations. The quality of the ice cream at this Ben & Jerry's location was good. What truly stood out, though, was the mediocre service. The staff members were unfriendly and it really negatively affected the experience. I wouldn't be surprised if this Ben & Jerry's location continues to decline based on the bad customer service. I haven't been inside a scoop shop in a while, but this Ben and Jerry's missed the mark for us. We came mid-afternoon and there was no one else in line. The very small store was dirty, trash on the floors and all over the few tables inside, and the staff were all standing around. We waited at the counter and - when no one greeted us - eventually asked out loud, "can we place an order?" A person came over and just stared at us, so we said, "Could we get the Colin Kaepernick's Change the Whirled?" They said, "We don't have that." We pointed up at their flavor board where it was listed as an option. They asked us, "But do we have that?" We pointed down at the flavor in the case. They said, "Oh, I guess that's something we have." Our large was not the rounded large you'll see in B&J's marketing photos, it was one tiny, flat scoop for almost $10 after tax and tip. I'm assuming this flavor had been sitting in the case for a while, because it was more ice crystals from freezer burn than ice cream. Not a great representation of the brand overall. read more

Terrible! As soon as I walked in I got a bad vibe from this place. The two workers behind the counter looked at us as if we were foreign objects. I ordered a small cup of chocolate ice cream for my son, and she pretty much gave him a kid size portion in a small cup. She rang me up and and I as I swiped my card, she walked away and left me standing there. I waited for about a minute before getting her attention, then asked if I was done & could I have a receipt. I didn't feel like fighting ignorance that night so I just proceeded to walk out of the store. As I was leaving, there was a girl at the door emptying the garbage who looked like me. She apologized for the behavior of her coworkers, which let me know that she's used to them treating certain people like scum. Three people behind counter. My children were very quiet and made a mistake in their order, so I said please wait to the server and he just kept going. So I told my son that he just need to take what was given to him because it was apparently to late to change your mind. when it was time for my daughter to order, I told her to be very clear as to what she wanted because there's literally no time to change her mind. She was confused on the difference of the cones. I gave my order and was very clear on the cone. Then after he was done he slammed down the glass covers and the check out person started laughing. They are lucky my husband already paid because if he hadn't, I would've handed back the ice creams and went elsewhere. Servers were extremely RUDE! Portions were tiny.
