Its a bit more casual, decor is lighter. I think it may be slightly cheaper (comparing lunch menus). The buffet area has less things compared to Fazenda but still get a nice selection. If you have not been to a Brazillian BBQ before, basically they come round with different meats on sticks and they carve a slice for you at the table. For lunch, there were 7 different types of meat (I think) which included a couple different beef cuts, sausage, gammon and lamb. Previous visits to Fazenda, my favourite has been the gammon. However, my last visit is didn't meet the very high expectation from that first time having it. Its still good but not "incredible". Actually, if I am honest, at Picanha it seemed to be lacking a bit of flavour. Not often complain about it but it was lacking some salt - which you expect with gammon. The rest of the meats were all good - although some of the cuts were a bit too rare. I don't mind rare meat but I prefer medium-rare (leaning a bit more towards the rare) but some of it was rare. The standout meats, and I have since heard they are a favourite of customers of Picanha (and Fazenda) is the belly pork and the lamb. My last visit to Fazenda and the belly pork was my fav that time. Lovely, juicy, marinated with honey and cinnamon. So overall, good food, nice restaurant and good service.

In the Ropeworks vicinity you'll find this traditional Brazilian restaurant of the Meet family,…read moredrawing you in with alluring offers such as the free glass of pink fizz between 5 and 7pm on Tuesdays, and buy one get one free on all courses. You can't say fairer than that, can you? Thankfully this place hasn't jumped on the churrascaria bandwagon, not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's nice to see something a little different from all you can eat meat. I've got backup in the form of Miss X and her sister, two half Brazilian ladies who spend every summer over there with relatives and they were rather pleased with the authenticity this restaurant had to offer. Simple decor and glowing lights add an ambient, warm feel to a cutely patriotic place (the row of Brazilian flags outside the entrance is particularly endearing) and the starter sharers really set you up for a fabulous meal. You know you're in hog heaven when you find deep fried cheese. Who came up with this genius plan to take something already full of calorific goodness and add even more indulgence to it? Mmm, crispy gooey meltiness. The red pepper tapenade that comes with some of the little dishes is mighty delicious, and you can also find goat's cheese, spicy sausage, scallops, rice, salad, everything that's bound to make your tastebuds tingle. The prices aren't half bad either, especially with the special offers. And this is definitely the place to come for steaks. The service is friendly, professional and yet not too brisk - they don't whip away your plates or hover around encouraging you to leave. You're simply left to bask in the cosy glow and languish over your tasty meal. Can't argue with that!

If you are a vegan I would look away now and not continue reading this review because we shall be talking meat meat and more meat. The decor inside is nothing out of this world, but very inviting. Upstairs is the dining area whereyou instantly notice the white curtains which are bright thanks to lights behind them. Now my Portugese is not the best, so all I managed to do was basically ask them no pigs please the rest is ok!!!!! I don't eat pigs, mainly because I've heard they are one of the very few animals that harbour a range of parasites and diseases that can be transmitted to humans. Even if there was a 1% chance of this being true, I decided long ago not to risk it. I'd like to extend this gift of life for as long as possible please!!! Back to the menu, I'd recommend Viera Ao Molho De Alho, which at £12.95 is a lush bowl of succulent scallops bathed in cachaca sauce. Cachaca being a Brazilian alcohol made from sugarcane juice. I still prefer Bem Brasil and Tropeiro but it is refreshing to see that there is an option here in Liverpool for those looking to "meet" up to enjoy a bit of south American flavour!!

No one explained how the tab system worked, or gave us a menu that had sides on, the first we heard about them was half an hour in when they told us we had no sides. The buffet section was never refilled, despite us pointing out they had run out of a lot of the options and we were told it was looked at. Finally, we were asked for more drinks, only for one of the staff to come over and tell us very rudely that we had precisely 12 minutes to leave because our slot was running out, despite the fact we had just ordered said drinks, and we were seated late, and the restuarant was virtually empty. Surprisingly, they happened to find another place for the party that wanted our table, not that we ever saw them, and we were then asked if we wanted desserts, which were apparently already included in the price of our meals. When we were going to get these if we were kicked out, I have no idea. The meat itself was good, but beyond that would not recommend, rude staff killed what was otherwise probably a 6/10 or 7/10

The menu is quite extensive, on top of that they are very happy to show you the meat cuts on a small table that is wheeled right to your table. We thoroughly enjoyed starters, mains and dessert. Our waiter was very friendly and happy to advise and check our questions about food with the chef if he didn't know the answer. The food was just heavenly! I would love to come back.

Generally, you can save 25% off food with Gourmet Society membership but this offer takes it further. Inside, the decor is fantastic being set in an old Methodist Church just off Deansgate, accessed via a ramp with a very steep gradient or a large step. The inside area is a stunning old building, decorated with cow print. The cocktail menu was rather expensive, they also didn't have anything basic and seemed to have weird, wacky cocktails which I really didn't fancy, standard spirits and mixers were also rather expensive too. I didn't end up going for a cocktail in the end - one of the best places in the city for a cocktail has to be the Hard Rock Cafe, a 70cl cocktail and a collectable glass for under £13 meant I'd head thereafter for some booze before heading home - the selection here didn't cut it for me. Although known for their steak offerings, I opted for the Spatchcock Chicken. I did enjoy the flavours of the chicken although the leg piece didn't have a lot of meat on, I really enjoyed the breast part - I just wish it would have been more breast. The flavours, spices and sauces were good but I still think it didn't represent value for money at all, this dish alone was £18 without any sides! For sides, I decided to opt for chips/fries, at £5 a portion I expected them to be good, but they just weren't. I found them to be poorly seasoned as well as a little overcooked and soggy, for such a price you'd expect them to be good, fresh chips when in all honestly I've pulled out better fries from my freezer at a fraction of the cost, this meant although I did enjoy a half of my chicken, it didn't cut it as nothing went with it. Considering they only have one lot of chips, there's nothing which would go with steak either, who wants steak and mash? All the staff seemed friendly, with the exception of my waitress who seemed more like an angry mother, who seemed to treat me and my party like a child, for example forcing us to use the menu as a placemat for our food. I also found it a shame to see they were unable to adapt dishes, now this is fine dining, a high-end place with mains costing at least £18 and some items going up towards the £100 mark, a place like this being unable to adapt dishes is truly dissapointing especially for the price mark, they were unable to remove sauces etc as it came "pre-marinated" in many cases. My server also seemed a little rude and easily confused, for example, she couldn't understand when my friend ordered a starter as a main course which was down to the fact he didn't want anything with spices on, as every dish came pre-marinated other than the steak. She did get there in the end, but even that was a struggle. There was also a long wait for food, it at one point felt like I'd never get my food which was quite frustrating as well. They didn't seem overly busy and it didn't seem like anything the large open kitchen couldn't handle either. They do have gluten-free labelled on the menu and do have a few choices, sadly their gluten-free bread is seeded bread which I hate (I wish everywhere didn't put seeds in bread as it ruins it!), also there were no gluten-free starters on the menu which again was dissapointing. Do bear in mind also that this place has a rather high service-charge at 12.5% regardless of how many people are dining, this is also applied before any discounts so even though our group of 3 saved £10 per person, this amount was also subject to the service charge, so that alone worked out close to £9. Considering the long wait for food and the attitude of my server, I don't understand the justification behind that by any means. A high-end place which doesn't live up to the price tag, some good flavours in the chicken and nice decor warrant an extra star but I won't be rushing back to this place. 2*

I'm from California & live in Toronto, Canada - you can tell Californians because when we live other places we whine about not getting a good burrito. Yes, but I'm in Chester - I wasn't expecting anything or trying to emulate 'home' - we were just walking by & a bit hungry so we popped in thinking it'd be kitschy & cool. Wow. Srsly. The food is a mixture of cuban, spanish, mexican, brazilian, etc. I had a burrito. I would actually rate the burrito a bit better than most of what passes in Toronto. The service was awesome, even tho I hadnn't quite tuned my 'English' ears yet (was needing translation). However the margarita was world-freakin-class. I was expecting some sort of margarita mix/tequila mixture, but it honestly tasted like fresh lime and tequila - like an authentic margarita. It - was- awesome. I doubt I'll have many chances to visit Chester again, but if I do, I'm totally hunting down this place. For expats who might be in the area: check this out for your burrito fix! There is also a dance-floor in the centre of a good size, which I'm sure was packed later in the evening. Fiesta Havana also does food too, but although we enquired the wait time was too long, by virtue of its popularity. The dishes that came past us looked tasty and were predominantly tapas.

A nice mix of old and new, with some eclectic choices and some classics, and £1 for five songs. On a Saturday night there wasn't a wealth of atmosphere and it was pretty quiet. The food here is always great and about on par with the prices to be expected in Chorlton, the portions are on the smallish side but are priced within that 'tapas order when you feel like it' range so it's reasonably acceptable, you'd probably need to order a couple of things if you were desiring a full meal. They have a decent range of cask beer and the keg on offer is not your average mainstream beers either which is always a pleasant occurence. Because of it's location, it is never packed solid with people so it is a great option in Chorlton if you are after a beer and a bite without contending with the usual Chorlton crowds especially on a Friday/Saturday evening. De Nada has a lunch time special running pretty much constantly where you can grab an empanada and a beer for £5 which is a bargain. There is good outdoor seating on a front deck for the warmer months. In Winter this is relegated primarily to smokers which can be a slight turn off when you are walking up to the bar, but it's fairly common practice around Manchester.
