My 92 year old grandmother, a client of Justin's for OVER a decade, has a beautiful garden bed full of massive amounts of BIENNIAL SELF-SEEDING Black Eye Susans, rudbeckia, and coneflowers. First, in 2022, despite telling them NOT to cut down the flowers (so they can RESEED themselves in order to remain in the garden) they CUT down EVERY SINGLE FLOWER HEAD. THOUSANDS of seeds - gone! As a result, Justin offered my grandmother only a small discount on spring service. Despite him promising my grandmother that Belter Landscaping would not touch the flowers and not cut them down ( again since they are biennial self-seeders that rely on reseeding in order to remain each year...) he BROKE that promise and allowed them to once again, cut EVERY SINGLE FLOWER DOWN! So many years were shed. My grandmother is in her 90d and now won't know if these flowers will ever return. Thousands of seeds tossed away after she told them not to cut them and even worse? He promised her he would not do it and allowed this to happen again - to my 92 yr old grandmother who has been a dedicated client. The broken trust is unbelievable. Belter Landscaping did an excellent job putting in my stone patio replacing a wooden deck. The patio looks great and everything draining in good order. Also made sure the bushes were replanted and grass in the area was repaired. read more

A year ago, we moved into a charming home with an equally charming landscaping situation in the front yard. The previous owner had a love of plants and designed a sweet scene with a horseshoe gravel path, stone wall, and a variety of perennials. Ahh, so delightful to look at. Fast forward to winter, and it was a windblown, flattened, mostly dead, nightmare. Then spring came and it was apparent that we needed a serious intervention. Not only were we not interested in maintaining the existing Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde situation, we needed some help re-imagining what was possible. My first step, which I now see was unnecessary, was a consultation at Lurvey. We came up with a plan but even during the meeting I could feel the designer running away with our front yard and I knew we'd be, um, editing the plan before any dirt was turned. The consult was useful in that he gave me Justin's name, so there's that. Justin came over and we walked through what we wanted to change, and he offered ideas for cosmetic improvements as well as a drainage solution for rain. Unfortunately, he is a busy guy and we had to wait a few months to get things rolling. In that time, the weeds grew and so did my discomfort with this public display of landscaping incompetence. I felt like we had a scarlet letter for the whole neighborhood to see. I don't know which letter, but maybe K for plant killers. But finally our day came. And a day it was: one day, instead of the two he'd estimated. Justin and a crew of three started early and finished early, and as it turns out, under budget. I only wish I'd been there to see the backhoe in action. The transformation was dramatic, and I even noticed one of our neighbors come admire it after the team left. Justin's web site has info on how to water new landscaping, which is really handy. When he left we had a plan specific to our situation, and so far so good. Belter and his crew are top notch. I have used them in the past and was always happy with the results. This time around I called to see if he could sneak in a end of the year project in my backyard. I had just moved to a house with a 1950's themed landscape layout, large pine trees and shrubs that were encroaching into what is a decent sized yard. Justin got me scheduled and got a game plan together to take back the yard and open up the space. This is after day one With 3 guys kicking it in the butt! Justin at Belter Landscaping completed a job for me to divert water from my backyard to my front yard. He was beyond knowledgeable in this field. He and his workers completed the job quickly and efficiently and were excellent at what they did. I highly recommend Belter Landscaping for anyone that has any water issues surrounding the outside of their house. read more

Contacted Belter and Justin ( the owner) came out and we discussed what I would like done. No estimate ever came. I contacted Belter Landscape and requested that they send the estimate, 1 1/2 months later, still no estimate. Remember -- Belter is not better, Belter "bungles" deals and is unresponsive. Cannot recommend this business. Plenty of other landscapers would be glad of the business. Go with yhem and forget Belter Landscape. read more

We used Belter Landscaping when we decided to sell our house and are sad that we didn't use them earlier. Fabulous work, always available. He was helpful and gave us an economical plan to get our yard looking up to date. And he was patient with my many, many questions. His staff was very polite and accomodating and were respectful of my other landscaping and house. I'm just sad that we moved too far out of their radius. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family. read more

Update, we had to stop using Belter as last year there was damage done. Most was fixed by Mr. Belter, however,it took too many calls to him to get the repairs made. Also there were scrape marks on my truck which I thought could only be caused by his men, yet as I didn't see it I could not prove it. I did put in a double gate a cost of $450.00 so there would be no problem getting his equipment in our yard, and around the vehicles. They just needed to be careful and were not. My husband said he would do it this year as we have new exterior and can not afford damage to our home.Also there were lots of leaves in my back yard and he charged me twice for fall clean up, and still left a mess. I'm writing this review because it is a bad business practice to promise and not deliver. This past Saturday morning I asked the supervisor of Belter's crew that was cutting our next door neighbor's lawn if they could cut our lawn as well. He looked over our property front and back and said yes that they would be back later in the afternoon. We shook in hands agreement. The supervisor asked for me to leave $45 as payment in our mailbox. I thanked him and he assured me they would be back. Well they never came back. I see Belter's crews in our area frequently and considered using their services for a drainage job several years back. Initially, Justin told me that could start on the job right away. Unfortunately he called back and said they couldn't fit our job in for 5 to 6 weeks. I accepted that they were busy but as with the no show this weekend was disappointed in the poor treatment I received. If a promise can't be kept it shouldn't be made. The explanation I received about the no show was that they run a tight schedule and aren't taking on new customers. Whats more they weren't coming to do the job as promised. This does not reflect well on Belter's company and think others should know about their poor standard of service and lack of respect. read more

Belter Landscaping just did the finest spring cleanup at my residence. Winter 2013-2014 came on fast and furious and buried us in snow for the duration. The yard was a mess. The crew did an excellent job, yet protected the emerging perennials better than my previous landscaper ever had. They straightened shepherd's hooks and put upright a toppled bird bath (which was too heavy for me to lift). I'd recommend them to anyone! read more

Justin came out to give us an estimate on some remodeling work that had to be done on our backyard. He took measurements and everything. Unfortunately, he never gave us the estimate. I called him and emailed him and he completely disappeared. Very unprofessional and a waste of our time. read more
