This is a great locally owned store. I go shop for my walking shoes and work boots here. I like it because it's owned privately and the prices are still good. I could order online after I figured my size out but I always go back to them because ai like them. They greet me , Amazon just takes my money. They help and do not pressure sell. Their inventory in sizes and brands is good so I just don't feel I need another shoe store for these types of shoes. They also have great markdowns so that's helpful. I love my Hokas but the variety here gives you so many others to try too. read more

The great thing about Below the Knee is that it is focused on running and helping anyone get started or improve if you're already an accomplished runner. She was very easy to work with, took my shoe measurements, and asked me exactly what I would be using the shoe for. She brought out several examples for me to try on and was very attentive to my opinion, swapping out selections as needed. My son is in training at Fort Benning and while on a family day pass, he complained that his sneakers weren't supportive enough for running 5 miles per day as it bothered his heel. The very attentive staff person did an analysis of his feet and measured them to help him find the right running shoes. He also got insoles for his boots. We are from NY and we found out about this place from a very nice young man in Foot Locker who told his that the mall sneakers are largely for fashion but to go here if you need running shoes. They will assess your arch, walking gait & running gait. If you prefer a different shoe, they'll work with you to make sure you're happy. bought a pair of hiking shoes after 3 months shoes started to fall apart so i took them back and was told the owner would have to approve swapping them out and he wont be back till tomorrow. Well they ask me to leave the shoes and the owner would get back in touch with me and i have called and left messages and the owner has always just left. Its the third day and still nothing i called and was told again like everyday i have called, the owner will call you back. This is BS. First of all why does the owner have to approve a pair of shoes thats falling apart and i also have a 45 minute ride to get there. Second of all why did they want me to leave the shoes. This really sux and if anyone else does business with these people be ware they do not stand behind there sales. read more
