I think the owner caught a catchy name, Alibaba Liquidation. No kidding. They sell imports from…read moreChina I'm huge quantities. They don't have display cases, but huge boxes of merchandise as seen on Amazon (not TV). I don't think it's related to the internationally known e-commerce website. Alibaba is also the main character from the famous Arabian folk tale. Any ways, as I was saying, don't think all products from China look cheap. They're seriously made for high end consumers. Like cell phone accessories brand LeYi. I never knew this brand until I bought a cell phone case from Amazon. They got unique design and functionality. Yesterday July 31 was their first day. I arrived around 3 pm. They were busy unloading and setting up the shop. There were few customers. Employees greeted everyone as we came in. Prices are still handwritten on the crates. I saw $1, $2, $3, $4, $5... But I saw nice stuff in the crates. Oh, they take cash and credit cards. I wasn't planning to stay long because I could overspend for trinkets. Some items can become customized gifts for businesses. I'll be back when we can safely meet in person. Because I will buy a bunch of stuff for my meetup giveaways. **Updated after my second visit and chatted with co-owner Jason** They have plan to expend this operation to 10 stores in Houston. I think it's a great concept. I wish them luck and I will be back every month to see new products.

Daiso has a lot of items that are super cute, such as plushies, stationary, makeup, pet toys, household items, and more. They also have an awesome snack station and a good amount of electronics accessories, so there's usually something suitable for everyone that they might find interesting/ useful. I have a lot of the kitchen items such as their dishes, stovetop liners, and chopsticks, but I also enjoy their home accessories such as their house slippers, plushies, and stationary. The snack area always has a lot of fun options to munch on during my trip back home! They also have excellent car accessories, so I have even purchased car cushions from here (they're pandas!). Overall, the items are usually in the $1-3 range, but some items may go up to about $10 based on what it is!

It's Japan's version of $1 store except in the US, it's $1.75 and up. The quality to me is better than the regular dollar tree or 99 cents stores. The store is very clean and organized. There are some basic items that they carry all year and then specialty things that come and go. Some of the sections: gardening, toys, makeup and hair, electronics, storage, kitchenware, pets, snacks, camping, etc. You can grab some necessities as well as whimsical things. The staff are very friendly. Def one of my fave spots.

You won't be disappointed by the variety of products they sell. They also have beautiful sake cups and carafes, bottles of sakes, ramen bowls like the ones you see in Japanese restaurants, and even Japanese knives! The supermarket is big, and it looks like they are still trying to fill up some of the empty shelves. Their prices are reasonable, and definitely worth checking them out!

It tastes fresh, buttery, and honestly just like what you get at a good sushi restaurant. They did not have Hamachi this time but we got Buri instead and it was still really good. I really like that they are now cutting the salmon into smaller portions and even giving a storage box with the fillet. It makes it easier to keep things fresh and not waste any. I just wish they could do the same with more of their fish in medium sized portions because it would be super convenient. The staff is helpful and quick. They explain the different types of fish and give good suggestions when something is sold out. Compared to other places we have tried, Sushi Depot feels more approachable and the quality of the fish is very high. If you want restaurant quality fish in Houston for sushi at home, this is definitely the place to go.
