Did that, made our plans for our last day in town, with the intention of meeting them at Newark. On the day we were supposed to leave, I woke up to an email from them stating that they no longer had a van to Newark and needed to meet us in town. Kind of a pain, because we had planned our entire day, including transportation without bags from the city to Newark, entirely based on their original recommendation and had to reconfigure everything. Trevor seems to minimize the inconvenience that this caused in his response below. Evidently this wasn't a big deal to him, but it was to me. Made a whole new plan, which now involved cutting our time in town short and different transportation back to Newark (all of which Trevor glosses over). This was more costly, because we required a larger vehicle. Not sure what Trevor is talking about, but our bags would not fit in a standard vehicle. We had two large duffles over 50 lbs each, a 35 pound suitcase, one medium duffle and three backpacks (that we had carried with us through the city)....plus three people. We called Uber in advance and they recommended a SUV because there was no guarantee that a standard UBER would work. Extra cost to us was incurred based on our original plan of taking a standard UBER to Newark and having to upgrade to a larger car, not as the result of any additional charges from FYA as Trevor incorrectly states below. Arrived early at our meeting spot, only to have the driver call us 5-minutes before the pick up time to tell us he was running 20-minutes late. He also asked us to Uber to a different location to meet HIM, rather than coming to our scheduled location. Super frustrating, especially after going to bed the night before with a plan that was completely buttoned up. My issue with this is not related to what time he actually arrived, but the annoyance of receiving the call last minute combined with the request to MEET THEM when I'm paying for a service that is supposed to be bringing my bags to ME. Very unprofessional. Definitely will not use them again.

A friend reserved half the mezzanine space and the top of the rooftop after the stairs for a birthday party. It was pretty spacious. They had divided the mezzanine space to have two birthday parties on the rooftop. At around 2pm, it was unbearable hot. However, after the stairs to go higher up the rooftop, the breeze was amazing. The drinks were great as per my friends and partner. I only had a diet coke as I wasn't drinking, but everyone had a great time and a great view from the rooftop.

The rooms are typical NY size. Oddly I found the bathroom to be more than adequate compared to the size of the room. Only drawback is there was no shower door so we went through a lot of towels drying the floor. Beds are super cozy. We asked for extra pillows and had them within minutes. The lobby is inviting with its low cozy couches and warm wood tones. The bar offers free coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate all day long. There is also a happy hour from 5-6 but we were never at the hotel to partake. Also several food options but again, we were never there long enough to eat. Great location to the subway. Can easily get uptown or downtown within minutes.

There are a roof top bar, a small coffee shop and a bar and a restaurant on site. We went to the roof top bar and the view was great, drinks were good and the whole vibes were awesome. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The elevators are little slow and showing our stay, one was out of order most of the time and the wait for the elevator took even longer. But overall we had a wonderful time here.

The biggest reason we keep coming back is how relaxing it is. It's adults-only, so it's never overrun with kids, and it's just a nice place to spend an afternoon in the city. We've also had really good food every time we've been. I also have to mention Natalie, one of the pool hosts. She's always so friendly and remembers us when we come in, which makes the experience even better. Little things like that go a long way. Extremely disappointing and deeply concerning experience…read more This hotel claims to be a Christian-based organization, which makes what happened even more difficult to understand. We had a reservation for 3 young girls in a two-bed room. This was their first visit to New York City. When they arrived, the clerk attempted to deny them based on their ages, then they were ere denied access to the room because the hotel claimed that NYC fire safety regulations did not allow 3 guests to occupy the two beds in the room. One of the girls called the hotel several weeks prior to checking in to confirm the occupancy and was told 3 people was not an issue. I understand that hotels must follow fire and occupancy regulations. If that was truly the issue, then the hotel should have identified the problem when the reservation was made--not when the young girls arrived at the property. Instead, at approximately 8:00 p.m., they were turned away and left stranded in New York City with nowhere to stay. No reasonable alternative accommodation was provided, and they were left to figure out the situation themselves. They would not even allow them to remain in the hotel lobby while the girls attempted to find other accommodations. What makes this particularly disappointing is the hotel's claim of being a Christian-based organization. Regardless of the circumstances, I would expect an organization that promotes Christian values to demonstrate compassion, kindness, responsibility, and concern for the safety and well-being of 3 young girls who were suddenly left without a place to stay. Following a policy is one thing. How you treat people when enforcing that policy is another. As parents of one of the girls, we called the hotel. We were informed that a manager was on the way back in to the hotel, and to call back in 30-minutes. This was a lie. When we called back, the hotel manager was not there, but was informed we would receive a call back from the manager. As I am writing this review, we still have not received a call from the manager. If the reservation violated occupancy requirements, the hotel should have taken responsibility for its failure to catch the issue before arrival and helped these girls find a safe place to stay. Instead, they were left stranded at 8 p.m. in a city they had never visited before. This experience was frightening, unacceptable, and completely inconsistent with the level of compassion I would expect from an organization that identifies itself as Christian-based. If I could give this a negative star review, I would. Management to reconsider how situations like this are handled in the future and ensure that their policies are posted when booking the room.
