He took great care and value of my car, towed it and me to the local dealer, and helped me through the process of finding the right person to talk to. He charged an affordable price and let me know best practices of getting it reimbursed through insurance. Danny's been doing this for 45 years - he knows everyone and everything about this business all around town. I had a pleasant interaction with the tow truck driver. However, I was a bit alarmed when the next day my mechanic called and asked me where the car was. He said he had left the shop for the day and didn't see it there which made me panic a bit. I called the towing company and the person who answered said the driver would call me back. He never did. My sister, who lives closer to the shop, drove over that night and discovered the car way down at the other end of the lot. My mechanic had to push it down to where their shop is the next day. Fast forward to submitting the receipt for reimbursement. My insurance company said they don't often see prices this high. I am right around the corner from where the towing company is located (0.3 miles). I was parked right next to my house on a side street where there were no cars parked in front of me. It is not a dense area. It was not a difficult situation. The tow was 9.1 miles. It was $295. I did not realize at the time, but this is high. For reference, my sister is getting her car towed 30 miles today (similar area of the city, also 4wd similar type of car, but over 3 times as far) and the cost is $360. And this other company has to travel further to get to her. I would recommend calling around because you can certainly do better on pricing (I feel I was taken advantage of) and they failed to follow up on a panic-inducing issue. I was left to locate the car on my own. In the future, they should consider having the driver confirm with a photo (or two) where the car was left.

Fonzos was the only one up to the challenge. They arrived on time, and when each solution did not work (due to mechanical issues, condo association rules, etc.) they stuck it out and tried different methods, spending hours, until they were finally able to push the vehicle on dollies and winch it up a ramp and out of the garage, where it could be loaded onto their tow truck. Superb service. When they say they will get your car for you, they mean it. They won't stop until the job is done.

It all started well enough, but as we were riding down my street, the driver went flying over a speed bump. We flew over it and the car smashed down with a loud thud. The driver stopped to "double check on the car" and to "refasten it" and he didn't mention anything and I didn't think to get out and see if anything had happened. So after all is said and done, I take my car home and I parked, walked behind it and noticed that the bumper had been scrapped and tattered. I immediately contacted John's Towing. They gave me the run around. First John acted like it wasn't him that had driven, or that he wasn't the manager. Then he said he would call me back. Did they? No. I called back today and I got the response that "ma'm go do whatever you'd like, we aren't paying". I filed a police report, talked to my insurance company and will file a complaint with the ICC. This is completely unacceptable. if need be, I am taking this to small claims. I would not have been so mad about the whole situation, had I not spent 800 bucks two weeks ago getting brand new bumpers installed on the car. Then I lost the car key and it hadn't been driven the car at all until John's Towing came to pick the car up. So I know my bumpers were still unscathed and brand new until he wrecked it. I'm furious. My estimate for the damage is $600 bucks because they ended up scrapping and piercing the bumper.
