I've been to 2 other dance schools in the past few years and AM Coral Gables blows them away 100 times over. To say the staff at AMCG is great would be a huge understatement. Their teaching methods are part of a renowned curriculum that gets proven results for any student regardless of their dance knowledge and comfort on the dance floor. And above all else, the instructors are excellent teachers. Whether preparing for a special event (wedding, party, etc.) or just to improve your dancing skills, there is no better place than Arthur Murray Coral Gables.

This is EXACTLY what I needed in my life and I had absolutely no idea…read more February 2019: I went to a French Meetup at Maroosh in the Gables. I had a fantastic time. Good food, great company, and of course belly dancing! Since then, I have had my eye on belly dancing. Call it a bucket list item if you will. I can finally say that thanks to Belly Motions I tried it. I signed up via ClassPass for their 10 AM Fundamentals class. My instructor was Alexandra. She was so lively, full of energy and pep. Felt more like being with a friend than an instructor. The Fundamentals class is essentially Belly Dancing 101. You know - your standard intro class. In it, you do some stretches, learn about locking and popping, but most importantly: the shimmy! When in doubt, shimmy. Actually I think that might be what one of their shirts say, but it's super true. For my first class, they let me borrow a sash (or is it a coin belt?). It was so pretty that once class was over, I bought my own, because I am going back. That and admittedly I have a bunch of workout equipment at home. It motivates me. Anyway, Miss Emilia was heading the front desk and she was very sweet. Miss Luisa was teaching the little ones, as apparently they also teach kids. There's a show now on Saturday. I doubt I will get to go as I already have plans, but from what I was told, they do several a year. Because of this show, they're closed this next weekend (which is rare). Still, I'm anxiously waiting for ClassPass to open for Saturday, March 14th. I want to go back and dance. This was just so ridiculously fun, but more so, empowering. Dare I say it? You feel like a goddess!

I am very pleased with how much I have learned with just one month of Bachata and salsa classes…read more Thanks to my awesome instructor, Jeanette, I have been able to learn the basics, follow my partner, and successfully complete turns. Jeanette is really passionate for what she does and take the time to break down every movement. She works with you if you're not understanding And keeps the class pumped at all times. Every class starts at a beginners level and goes over the basic footwork for each dance type. Then you move onto working on more complex foot work and finally get into pairs to practice dancing with someone other than yourself haha. You rotate partners every minute or so so you really get to practice with everyone in the class which gives you a taste of how it would be if you would go out dancing. As you can see, as the time progresses the class becomes more difficult. Every class is about an hour and a half and there is usually about 15 students present. The choice of music is excellent and to top it all off it is a great workout. I definitely recommend investing on some dance shoes because they will help you with footwork and turns. Be mindful that sneakers are not allowed on the dance floor. The place is located in a shopping center with ample free parking. Thanks to Salsa Kings I feel more comfortable with my basic salsa and Bachata dancing and I can't wait to learn more.

We HIGHLY recommend taking classes at Fred Astaire. My husband and I took lessons with Nikita, one…read moreof their instructors, for our first dance and they helped us to feel confident and relaxed on our wedding day. For one thing, Nikita's experience really shone through. Nikita had stepped in as a new hire because our original instructor had left, and in our FIRST class, Nikita had choreographed 2/3rds of our dance, despite coming in with no context. He didn't know the lyrics for the song we had chosen (due to a slight language barrier), but Nikita captured the essence of the song and the drama of our love story EXPERTLY. We applaud Fred Astaire for hiring instructors who are skilled enough to step in for situations like ours and who have an instinct for dance. Additionally, Nikita was very professional. He did not waste any time with idle chit-chat or small talk during our lessons. He used all 50 minutes of our lessons to teach us the choreography, drill moves through repetition, and correct our mistakes. He was always honest with us about how we could improve, and so we feel that we really got our money's worth with Nikita. We really enjoyed our experience with Fred Astaire and we are hoping to go back in the future :)
