They do offer seasonal flavor specials so I went with the black sesame latte with oat milk ($6.75). The service was friendly! My drink came out much faster than expected, no complaints at all, I was just surprised in a good way. The coffee was smooth with zero bitter taste and the black sesame provided a rich creamy flavor (don't forget to stir your drink so you get the full profile). Parking was easy as well; they have a free lot right next to the building with and it was packed but still had several open spots. Before leaving I noticed their selection of retail coffee beans, including a special Atlien (Outkast) roast that they have right now. Definitely check them out and support this small business.

I walked in with a smile and kindly asked if I could order a quad shot of espresso over ice with oat milk. I also politely asked about the syrups on the menu. Rather than answering my question, an employee who told me her name was Elizabeth responded in what I can only describe as a weirdly mocking, condescending tone: "So you want an Aunt Viv?" Mind you, I've had the Aunt Viv before. It seems to be their bestseller for good reason. It's delicious! But that's not what I asked for. When I politely clarified, "Um, no, I'd just like shots over ice. Is that okay?" I was met with even more attitude and an annoyed response. So, I guess I got an Aunt Viv? Which, ironically, wasn't even good this time. Not sure what happened there, but I left with a drink I didn't order and a pretty bad impression. I know people have bad days, as I've worked in service positions, but it was genuinely so uncomfortable. I would've happily taken a recommendation or even an explanation of how my order compared to something already on the menu. What I didn't appreciate was being made to feel stupid for asking a pretty straightforward question that no other coffee shop has ever had an issue answering or accommodating! I love supporting neighborhood coffee shops, especially in the West End, but good coffee doesn't excuse poor customer service. I'm not expecting anyone to roll out the red carpet. Parking is inside a garage and is validated for 2 hours. When you enter the cafe scan the QR code located on the table and enter your car details. When I walked in around 12:35pm on a Monday, there was no line. The seating area, which is shared with the apartment/hotel lobby, had a few people working, and a few others were sitting on the outside patio. It was very quiet inside, almost like a library, which was unexpected but would be welcomed if I was trying to get work done! The service was so-so. I was greeted when I walked in, but it wasn't a particularly warm or friendly interaction, though it kind of fit the vibe of the space. However, I was very impressed with their selection of seasonal drinks and happy to see some unique options to choose from. I decided to go with the Miss Jaunice, which is a Jamaican inspired carrot punch with milk and espresso for $6.75. I forgot to ask for a plant-based milk option and was surprised the barista didn't confirm if regular milk was okay. While it's ultimately my responsibility, usually baristas ask if I forget to specify, so it's good to know that's not a guarantee. Just as a heads up, oat milk and macadamia nut milk are an extra $1. Initially, I enjoyed the flavor of the drink and was happy I tried something different, but after drinking half the cup, I got tired of the taste. I personally felt like it needed something creamier, and I think oat milk with a little vanilla would have been the perfect addition. I would definitely return to try some of their other seasonal drinks, like the HVR or the pumpkin spice latte (they use real pumpkin), and I'll plan on staying awhile to get some work done or read a book since it's such a chill space.
