It was immediately obvious that the chocolate chip & snickerdoodle cookies were not fresh. They tasted & felt at least 2 days old. Perhaps it was our mistake for not asking when these were baked before choosing them. The iced shortbread & linzer cookies were good. The raspberry jam between the linzer's shortbread cookies was generous, making it messy to eat - but yummy. The puffy iced lemon cookie itself had a nice soft texture, but the icing on it was aggressively Sprite tasting, & overpowered the cookie. Still we enjoyed the soft cookie part naked. I love a jammy thumbprint cookie, because the cookie is soft & the jam is baked into the center to reduce it to slightly chewy. The 2 we picked here had blobs of jam placed in the center after baking, & the cookie part was almost crunchy, so every bite left crumb & jam blobs dripping on your hands. We got none of the chewy jammy centers or soft cookie parts that make thumbprints so good. I'm giving 3 stars overall because service was very warm & friendly, and the shop is very inviting. Perhaps the best cookies to get here are the shortbreads as they are very cute & seem to hold up well. Or any of the cookies we tried, that appeal to you in the ways they did not appeal to us.

One Way Bakery has a 10% discount for both military and first responders, making me want to go over there more often. I brought home this sourdough bread and it was absolutely delicious, toasted with butter and honey on top. Yummy. I also tried half a blueberry donut which was exquisite. After a couple of pieces of bread, I only had space in my stomach for a half a muffin. But it was nonetheless. The service was superb, with smiling attendants, explaining the different offerings in the bakery. When in Claremont, this will be a must stop location.

I specifically requested that the cake say "26 Years Later." The bakery assured me they could complete the cake by the date I needed it. Unfortunately, the cake I received looked significantly different from the inspiration photo I provided. The lettering was not what I requested, the colors were different, and the overall decorating quality did not meet my expectations for a custom cake. The frosting was uneven and had visible marks throughout the cake. To the bakery's credit, they did honor the original $60 price I was quoted after there was some confusion at pickup. However, I was disappointed with the final product and felt it did not reflect the design I ordered. I've included photos of both the inspiration cake and the cake I received so others can make their own comparison. It's truly a pleasant little store. The lady seemed a little weirded out when my brother and I first walked in. We were in Manchester for the night, on our way back to NY from a week in Maine. I also bought a peach-raspberry muffin and a blueberry muffin. The muffins looked great but were without ANY flavor. Downright awful, not sure what that was about, but the chocolates were very good. I don't think they were quite as good as Lake Champlain chocolates, but they were a close second. I always appreciate the freshness factor (in addition to flavor), so it mattered that the orange peel and apricots were very fresh. If we are ever in the area, I'd come back here for sure, but I'd stick with the chocolates only. No more baked goods !
