What I wrote close to a legal-adult age gap ago (#1) still largely holds true, with a few notable…read moreexceptions: construction never truly finished as the place is perpetually under it; it no longer resembles what it was for the last decade and is more updated and spacious than ever. In fact, the multi year transformation that its currently undergoing makes it less of a traditional mall and more of a mini city that has spawned into a mixed-use commercial district. Their use of natural lighting all throughout the space makes it an ideal place for a photo in any corner. In addition to the space, many stores have stepped in with a good number that are high-end to appease all of the new money coming into the city of Richmond. It has become a leisurely destination for families and teenagers as folks roam the mall from corner to corner. One of the most significant transformations has been their food court, which has been dubbed the DiningTERRACE and features a number of food and drink spots. The only downside has been the mediocrity of most spots, which has plenty of room for improvement. Parking is also a mess, especially during the weekend. Folks are constantly competing for space and camping out has become a necessity during their busiest times. As many skyscrapers have been built nearby and it's proximity to the metro rail, this place will only serve to be busier as time goes on. ____________ (#1) 18 years has flown by.

Then they got bought out by the YM Company that owns Stitches, Suzy Shier and Sirens. So now you can get the same two plain tshirts for $10 at Bluenotes that you could at any of those stores. Yay for options! The staff are pretty much run off their feet because the store is filled with peasants who get dressed in the dark and are looking for a bargain. You'll get helped by a disgruntled employee. who is constantly trying to play catch-up by filling the shelves with stock that just came in, since the shit is flying out the door, and half of it is probably not even paid for. The store is usually in disarray, so finding a size is next to impossible, not that the clothes they carry are worth sifting through, the two stars goes to the cheap price of pretty much everything in the store, because occasionally you will come across something worthy of your time and effort. I guess I am just sad to see the old Bluenotes go, which gave us good quality jeans that didn't stretch out after the first wear. Sometimes change is not so good.

Really bad customer service on price adjustment. For example, my mom recently bought a $400 coat…read morefrom the place on Dec 22 which then went down to ~$350 around Boxing Day. After consulting with a store associate, checking the price adjustment rule on Laura.ca and checking rules posted in-store and on the receipt, we found that we are eligible for a price adjustment because the discount happened within 14 days of the coat being bought. We brought in our receipt around Jan 2nd for a price adjustment. The store manager, Michelle, told us that we are not eligible in an annoyed and begrudging tone. First she explained that only purchases after Dec 25th are eligible for price adjustment. She proceeded to follow with "if everyone does it, companies will go bankrupt." Here are my major concerns with such practice 1.) There is no rule, whether it's on Laura.ca, receipt, store posted sign nor verbal at the time of purchase that states we are ineligible for such price adjustment. Such rule, if exists, should be very clear from Dec 1st and is made clear in-store, online and at the point of sale. 2.) When pressed further to provide evidence of said rule in the store, and showing the manager the web site. She told us in a very rude tone that we should take it up to corporate, which I sure did. 3.) Calling other stores in lower mainland has yield different responses stating that we are indeed eligible for price adjustment. In fact, the ladies in Coquitlam and Metrotown was really helpful in explaining the policy in detail (for example items that had over 50% are ineligible for price adjustment) l. I believe the store deserves a 1 star because A.) The associates were not helpful. Besides the store manager, one associate actually proceeded to answer "I am not sure" and then walked away ignoring our further questions. B.) The rules and policies were not stated clearly. In fact, I doubt if such policy exists since it is not stated anywhere. Said rule seemed to be made up. C.) I overheard the store manager talking about us with another customer, which I believe is a violation of our trust and privacy. The above 3 reasons led me to believe the store manager is being unprofessional. To be very honest, selfishly speaking it is not my business that your company go bankrupt and is rather an unprofessional thing to say to a customer. Imagine taking this to Nordstrom, Best Buy or Futureshop or the Bay, these sort of practice and unprofessional conducts would not fly.

So I was one day after their "two week" stipulation so I couldn't get a refund. No problem I thought I will just exchange for other clothing in the store. No that is NOT how they do it - the refund has to go on a card but you "DO NOT get the amount of your purchase they give you the new sale price. I would have had to lose over $100.00 dollars ... so the outfit is in my closet waiting to be given away. Really poor business practice and kind of stealing on their part!

How did Richmond end up with such a great boutique like this?!…read more As I stepped into the store, I knew this was going to be good. A simple and clean blue and white scheme, a large open space, a couple of racks of clothing, a simple artsy armchair, and Kelsi Dagger shoes! Their careful selection of clothing reflects in the brands that they choose: Covet, Something Else, Gentle Fawn, Spiewalk, Designers Remix, and a couple of other newly discovered brands today. Lots of cute tops and dresses, jeans, as well as a good collection of jackets. Oh, did I mention that they also carry Kelsi Dagger shoes (Pour La Victoire's sister line). They have jewlery by Blee Inara, which were very unique pieces. They only have one change room though, so it could sometimes be a bit of a wait. So happy that I discovered this shop! (And it's right next to Rocanini!)

The store was neatly organized and displayed everything to it's fullest potential. I loved the wall of bags and the small collection of shoes they had. The racks of dresses, tops, pants and sweaters were all very pretty and trendy but were on a slightly more expensive side, than I'm used to but that's boutique shopping right? However, touching the clothes, it definitely had quality in every piece. I was very tempted to buy a high-wasted rose pink flowy skirt for $56 but I stopped the little shopping devil inside me. I loved the very dainty and unique jewelry that adorned the shop as well - there was a feel for antique, aztec and modern jewelry scattered around the room. A very cute addition to Steveston.

My part-time, work-at-home research gigs have spoiled me silly, and I found myself brutally underprepared for my first week of work at a new position. But I didn't have a plan of attack! Enter Plenty (aka Plen+y, I suppose). It caught my eye (as I walked on by), because I was familiar with the store...I had purchased some things from their other locations, but never from this particular one. I was pleased to be greeted immediately by racks of trousers, blouses, and skirts, AND signs that informed me of their 50% off everything sale going on right now. Needless to say, I went a bit crazy. I started flinging items over my arms willy-nilly in an attempt to finish the task at hand ASAP. A sales associate noticed my burden and asked if he could start a room for me, so that I could continue to rifle manically. It also helped that this store is about a quarter the size of their other locations, eliminating that lost, overwhelmed feeling that I'm prone to. Decent selection of casual and dressier options for the "young, modern working woman" (no, my new job isn't in advertising). Service was there, but sort of indifferent. I didn't mind - I walked away with enough items to keep me semi-presentable for the next few weeks, mitigating any future nightmares about showing up to work in pajamas.
