She has taken zero accountability or action to resolve this. Even though she fried my hair, she will not refund as she says "a service was provided." Romelia is the most unprofessional person I have ever worked with and should not be allowed to be in business. Romelia disappeared and left me in the chair for over an hour with bleach on my hair while she did laundry/other things. My hair is absolutely fried, I had bleach spots that did not blend, the hair all around my face completely broke off, which will take YEARS to grow back and I was charged for a bayalage, even though she only did a partial highlight. And the worst part is that I reached out to her in an extremely kind manner to resolve this multiple times and she has taken zero accountability for her mistakes. In fact, she read my message I wrote in tears and chose not to respond for 4 days (although she had time to continue posting on instagram) which is extremely unprofessional. I went into the salon with inspiration photos but also seeking Romelia's advice because I told her I wanted to go blonde but my most important goal was to maintain the integrity of my hair. She told me she could do what I asked without a problem or damage. I left with yellow hair, bleach spots throughout and my hair looked like a skunk in a ponytail by how streaky she left it. It was not blended at all and within 2 days, all the hair around my face began breaking off. I messaged her with photos and she asked me to come back in to fix it. I asked her if we could do a root melt to blend my base color into the highlights and tone my hair to fix the brassy blonde. She told me the only two toners in the industry that were available were warm and ash. I know that color is a wide spectrum and that this was not true. I told her I didn't want to be grey and that is exactly how she toned my hair anyways. At the end, I told her I no longer felt blonde and wasn't sure I would get used to it. She told me that she would not charge me and then asked if I wanted a few waves in my hair, I told her yes if she had time and then she proceeded to charge me $50 styling for waves that took her 2 mins and fell out within an hour. A true professional can admit their wrongs and also admit when they don't know how to fix their mistakes (therefore referring you to someone else). I left with grey hair, more bleach spots and my hair falling out into even further chunks. I had to get bangs today by another stylist just to try to hide the damage because my hair is 3 inches long in the front and along the sides now. I have huge holes in my hair (that goes down to my mid back) that I will now need extensions to fill in for the next several years while it grows back. Every stylist in the salon that fixed my hair was shocked at the amount of overprocessing and breakage I had. PLEASE learn from my mistake and do not go here if you value your hair/sanity. These people are crooks and have no idea what they're doing!! Photos posted are of the breakage/bleach spots after the first session and continued breakage after the second. Needless to say -- my man was not happy because the stylist couldn't understand what he wants and after a little snipping.. he was fine to leave since over-correction/too short of a haircut was his fear. It was suppose to be a basic business haircut.. I had to "fix" his haircut when he came home and I'm not a train stylist. However, I can see that the cut was uneven and choppy without a nice gradual blend. The 2 stars is because my son like his haircut. I had been there as well with a haircut and I'm not impressed with the experience. I had Jackie, she was good but I felt the experience is she sets the "it's good and you are done." and not "how do you feel about your haircut?". I was rushed to end the session. I want to rate this place higher as it is a convenient location for me -- although parking is limited street parking. Many time I have to drive around more than once to get a parking space. I have lots of hair and it ranges from kind of wavy in the front to full on S waves in the back, so it's not the easiest to work with. Dana just knew exactly how to shape it so that it lays right, but still has lots of swing and movement. This salon is such a great find for me. Compared to what other salons charge, it is so reasonable to leave with hair you love!

I read a few reviews and also wanted to stay within driving distance of Jefferson Park. so Aiyu peaked my interest. I was super nervous but as soon as I walked in Dana was so warm and inviting. the place is small but very neat and modern. she mentioned her training and education which did put me a little at ease. conversation flowed with Dana, but I never felt pressure to converse (sometimes I just want to read a magazine or play with my phone and not necessarily have an hour long convo while my hair is being done) (FYI: I'm an introvert). but I felt really comfortable. the wash was great, she conditioned my hair more because it was dry and needed lots of dead hair cut off. but she never once scolded me. she asked and actually listened for what I wanted. and I too asked her opinion on length to cut but she didn't go crazy cutting my hair all short. I wanted a cut but I still wanted my long hair. when she was done I admit I was a little surprised, it was probably the best cut I've had. all the dead hair was gone. my hair was still long, and it was shiny and soft and so flowy. my boss complemented me as soon as I walked in to the office yesterday. I was curious to know who she sees there and that's when she introduced me to Amy. I called over and made an appointment (this was Pre-COVID) and Amy did a wonderful job on my gel set. Amy is very careful, meticulous and a good conversationalist. She has clients that have stayed with her for years, if not a decade or more. Her loyal customer base speaks volumes of the quality of work she does and carries weight as a part business owner at Nano's. I treated myself to a much needed manicure/pedicure and was pleased with the results; so much I had them on for 5 weeks! Honestly, this was not by choice. Normally I would go to the nail shop to have them removed but I eventually got them off myself. As much as I enjoyed them, they were too long. It was difficult to do daily activities like typing on a keyboard and manual housework so they had to eventually go. I miss treating myself to the occasional mani/pedi but I'm hoping in a few more weeks they will reopen and we can all get our nail fix in!
