Please go anywhere else! I went to the salon to get my hair done since my normal place was booked up and I was supposed to have family photos this weekend. I literally had the formula that my stylist uses for aveda products and it still came out terrible. The highlights are uneven in color and thickness. Literally one whole side of my bangs is yellow and the other is blond and brown streaked. The highlights are about an inch from my scalp and don't blend at all. I shared with her the formula to break the base of my hair and told her my stylist leaves it on for 20 minutes. She rinsed it out after about 30 seconds so obviously it didn't have time to process. My hair has never looked so bad. The color is not even close to what it's supposed to be. Again, I showed her the formula! Then we get to the cut. She cut my bangs while wet and they are way too short. They are crooked and the right side is half an inch to three quarters of an inch shorter than the left. Not to mention there are long pieces in the middle and short on the sides. They don't blend into the sides of my hair and look like some kind of awful mullet. I can't even sweep them over bc they are so so so short. I can't pull them back bc of the color imbalance I mentioned earlier. Then she goes to dry my hair. I have super fine hair and when she asks how I blow it out, I told her I don't use heat products on my hair. She uses a blow dryer so hot I can smell it, and went over my poor hair multiple times with a ridiculously hot flat iron. This is important for later. My husband picked me up and I cried the entire way home. He agrees my hair looks awful and said it looked exactly the same as when I went in (with the ends of my hair super blonde and the roots black) except for the terrible bangs of course. As I'm talking about the appointment to him, I notice that SHE BURNT MY HAIR! The whole front piece is fried, I was livid. There is literally nothing I can do at home to remedy this and I have to wait two weeks for an opening with a reputable salon to correct this hot mess. I had to call the photographer and move the picture date back two weeks until after I get this corrected. So now I'm out $150 for this epic fail, the change fee for the photographer, and the insane amount it will cost a real salon to fix this. Good lord save yourself the time and go to a real salon!

She proceeded to take me to a frigid room, where she asked "what do you want." I told her I was four months postpartum and wanted a massage preferably laying on my side or back, to which she told me "I am not trained to do massages on the side or back" and stated she had the client face down the entire time. Having had massages done for over 20 years, I have never heard of a masseuse who is hired untrained to perform massages unless the client is solely on the back. Nor have I heard of a spa who books massages without specifying that the masseuse may be unable to do a massage at all if you are unable to lie on your stomach after you inform them you are postnatal from a c section. After I told her I guess I would cancel the massage because she kept shrugging stonefaced while telling me "I just can't do it," she promptly left the room and began gossiping with another masseuse down the hall. I literally had to call out after her "can you at least show me the way out?" given the lack of exit signs in Spavia's dark hallway. Caitlin rolled her eyes and sarcastically asked "you are not going to change into your clothes?" and I told her I needed the locker room. She wordlessly showed me the way before rolling her eyes again and stalking off. Please avoid booking with this woman Caitlyn and Spavia in general. Also, Caitlin came to collect me at 12:59pm (though I could hear her chatting with someone in the hallway well before then) so that my 1:00pm appointment time could start ticking away while she led me to the room, did intake, have me get ready, etc. No waiver or paperwork regarding massage goals was done at all, though it is unlikely she would have reviewed it anyway. I would also avoid this Spavia location for safety reasons.

Serena has been there to help me both times and is absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. She knows what she's doing and gives just the right tips to make your experience that much better! Absolutely love the experience. I fell asleep this time being it wasn't my first time now and she said I got good REM sleep during my 90 minute float. I also have done the infrared sauna twice. And hydro massage bed is a perfect way to end your spa day off right! Hours of pure bliss

I saw a deal on Groupon for 60 minute floating therapy along with a 15 minute enhancement. I'll begin with the staff. The staff members were very friendly and they greeted me upon entry and asked if I had an appointment. Once I confirmed my appointment with them, They offered me a shower cap and then one of the girls immediately walked me to the spa side of the salon. I'll be honest I forgot their names but they were friendly and nice nonetheless. Next is the place itself. The place itself is very very clean. I can tell that this place is fairly new especially since this particular location was hard to find because there is no sign called "the float spa". This location is actually next to Raymour and Flanigan in the Deptford town center plaza and you have to enter through the "Hello gorgeous" hair salon. once I saw the salon I actually did see a sign in the window but it can easily be missed by someone who is not as familiar with the area. My float pod was very clean and I can tell that they actually do clean in between guests. The lady who helped me was very informative and she provided me with everything that I needed for my stay including ear plugs and a cushioned floating neck rest which was very needed because I cannot flow on my own lol The floating experience is self was very peaceful and I actually did end up falling asleep lol it was very clean in there and it was very warm and comforting especially with the music and the lights. I cannot do lights off in there whatsoever because I am afraid of the dark lol After the float therapy I tried to shower and wash off the salt but that was a fail. I still ended up with salt in the crevices so I ended up showering again once I got home. after showering I was guided to the Hydro massage bed for 15 minutes as an enhancement and that was just the icing on the cake! I understand that this place is still fairly new but one thing I would recommend is to have an actual swimming cap maybe or something to protect our hair because not everybody wants to get their hair wet. the shower cap was a great gesture but still got a little bit of water in my hair. other than that my stay here was excellent and this place truly deserves five stars from me!
