I have been coming to this dentist's office since I was a little girl when it was called Doctor Wylan's Dentistry. Since then, there has been a new owner named Doctor Tsibel who is awesome. He gives the same quality of care as the previous owner. Dr. Tsibel is caring, funny, and personable and cares about his patient's teeth. His staff is outstanding. They are very helpful, kind and hard-working. This is the only dentist's office I have been to my entire life. They do great work and have reasonable prices for cosmetic work. They take all insurance and have payment plans. They do crowns, X-rays, fillings, braces, dentures, root canals, etc. Plenty of free parking in front of the dentist's office. I love it here. Doctor Tsibel makes my teeth healthy and smiling bright. Note: Doctor Joseph is my favorite for getting a crown done. Doctor Tsibel has other offices in Cypress, Long Beach, and Pasadena.

No more chipped crown!

Dr. Tsibel and the staff at Bellflower Dental has always taken good care of me and my family. They have reasonable payment plans and they always follow through on whatever is going on with my dental care. Honestly, I'm always grateful for their frequent reminders of upcoming appointments!

Very Beautiful Work. I'm very proud of my Dr. Ann Kim
Keyonda A.

Well, it was about that time again. Check-up time and man, I failed drastically. My last visit was in 2019 and that was hard but the hard work could have been avoided this go around if I would have kept up with my visits. Maria C. Was so awesome when she did my x-rays. She communicated very well with me. She knows how to put patients at ease. On December 23rd old fillings were taken out and re-done with the good stuff. Dr. Kim along with his assistant Gale did a wonderful job in getting that task done. What I respect about Dr. Kim is that he explained the procedure to me and explained that the material they used back in the 90's (and yes my fillings were that old) worked but at the same time the material would expand in your tooth in reaction to hot food and or liquids. In turn with time the material would cause your tooth to crack. He managed to catch it before it could. A small crack was forming. He numbed my gums very good. He checked on me throughout the procedure to make sure I didn't feel any pain. He did a very good job. Heidi (not sure what's the name of her position) explained to me patiently what's going on with my teeth. She really made me feel involved. She took colored photos of my teeth and explained the work that needs to be done and why. Then I had half of my teeth deep cleaned by Angie R. She was very good. Patient and full of compassion. The whole dentist team has been working very hard during this month due to members trying to jump in at last minute to use up their benefits before the new year. (This includes me). She numbed me up as well and paid attention to my pain meter throughout the procedure as well. These team members treat their patients like family members. I feel safe with all of them. Today, December 30th, I was scheduled for deep cleaning on the other side of my mouth. I was in for a surprise. I was pleased with Angie's work so much that when this appointment was made I requested her. Well, as I mention, all the staff were very busy so I decided I'll take whoever would do the work. That's when I met Daniel G. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. I lost Ann Kim from 2019 and I was getting used to Angie so by this time I'm feeling like plaqued orphan. Well, after he introduced himself he began to get started but was very attentive and patient. I decided to bring some ear plugs this time to block out the sound of the drill. It worked perfectly by the way. Daniel was gentle and efficient. He reminded me so much of my Ann Kim. He made sure my mouth was numb throughout the procedure and at times actually had me laughing. I never thought I'll see the day when I didn't see a dentist as an enemy. He was another who explained the procedure and why it was needed. He even explained the difference between the scraper and that noisy drill. It seems as if once something is explained to you, it puts you at ease. I got his advice on the dental floss I decided on and he approved. It's something about using expanding floss that helps remove the plaque even better. I left this afternoon very happy and as if I belong. I had to take a photo with the very one who started it all - Dr. Tsibel. I'm very appreciative of my new dental home and hope we can continue our relationship next year.

The technique he used to distract me from feeling the novocaine injection is remarkable. One of a kind. Very successful in avoiding any painful discomforting issues. For a dentist to create his own technique in trying not to inflect painful injections, show to me how caring, considerate and pride in his work. This leads me to actually leaving my anxiety at his front door as I enter his dental office. Trusting him more and more after each visit. My next appointment was for a new cap for my upper front tooth. Once again Dr. David did his unique distraction ritual and painlessly injected my upper front tooth area. This time it was better than the previous one only because the upper jaw area is more sensitive than the lower. So I was expecting some needle injection pain but there was not much. Remarkable! I joked around with the doctor and his attentive assistant Lemmy, that he must have used the "tiny needle" because I hardly felt anything. Dr. David Doan is truly an outstanding dentist!

But in this case, I feel it's important to share. I came to this office years ago after moving to Cerritos, right before my wedding, simply looking for a new dentist and a routine cleaning. They had great reviews, which is why I trusted them. From the start, I was told I had extensive issues--multiple cavities needed to be redone and several crowns were recommended. This was surprising to me, as I've consistently gone to the dentist and had never been told I needed such drastic work. Still, I trusted their assessment. The procedures that followed were some of the most painful dental experiences I've ever had. They took hours, felt extremely aggressive, and left me in severe pain afterward--far beyond what I've ever experienced with dental work. I have a high pain tolerance, and this felt very wrong. What was most frustrating was what happened next. I returned multiple times explaining that I couldn't sleep, eat, or function due to the pain. Each time, my concerns were dismissed and attributed to things like not flossing (umm I couldn't floss because of the extreme pain), which didn't make sense given the level of pain I was in. After pushing back repeatedly--especially with my wedding just days away--I insisted something was seriously wrong and requested further evaluation. It turned out I needed three root canals as a result of their prior work. Separately, the crowns that were placed caused ongoing issues. Eating anything with texture would cause gum pain, and I noticed unusual gaps that trapped food. When I brought this up, I was told the only solution was to redo the crowns at additional cost. My crowns also came off. Later, I happened to see a different dentist at the same office (a female provider who may have been temporary), and she immediately noted that the crowns had been placed at an awkward angle. She corrected them, and since then, I've had no pain and no further issues such as crowns falling off. I ultimately switched dentists and have not needed any major dental work since--just routine cleanings every six months, with no recurring problems. Based on what I went through--particularly the aggressive treatment, the outcome, and the dismissal of my concerns--I feel it's important for others to have full context before making a decision.

Probably because insurance will pay more and patient copay will be more. It's all about money here and how much they can make out of you and your dental insurance. They said if they fix it with bonding now, I would have to wait another 6months to do the crown. He made it sound like doing the crown is the better option. What he didn't tell me was what will happen if the crowns failed. Story short the crowns on my 2 top front teeth looks like bunny teeth and for them to fix it, dentist here said I will need to have root canals so that I wont have to feel the pain/sensitivity when he takes out more of my healthy teeth in order to have a better fit for the crowns. So that means they will have to charge my dental insurance more and me for more copay. Do not get talked into getting crowns because if it fails, there's no other solution but to do root canals and amputating healthy teeth. These are such invasive procedures. I'm embarrassed to smile now and can't even talk properly. Totally unacceptable. Giving this place a 1 star is generous. There should be a zero star.
