I hired Resurrection Brick in April 2026 to replace crumbling brick on our front porch that was…read moreallowing water to seep through the cement into the basement. I was promised by the sales lead & manager (Chris and Christian) who came out to our house that they would lay 45 cinderblocks into the bump-out portion of our basement to prevent leakage through the foundation and wall. They also promised to use a liner to help with waterproofing. Instead, what was installed was just 15 cinderblocks that extended only 2 feet. The liner, laid under the concrete on the top pour, did not even reach to the top of the cinderblocks, as was promised. The foreman said the crew had 25 years experience, but from what we observed, most were new to the work. The only experienced worker on the project, which was not supervised by any of the people who came out to plan the project, flat out refused to communicate with us. We asked for the rusted out support beam to be replaced once we saw what condition it was in, both by sending pictures to Chris/Christian and by asking the workers on site, ensuring that we would pay extra. However, the workers on site repeatedly called me a "puta" and said other extremely offensive things, not knowing that we understand Espanol. Additionally, they damaged our porch railing by ripping it out of the wall instead of unscrewing it or cutting the bolts. leaving huge holes. We took pictures and informed the "home team", who we hadn't seen since the day of the contract signing. They who responded that, since we had been so "patient and understanding", IN THEIR WORDS, they would repair the wall and reinstall the railing. However, the railing was haphazardly replaced, deeply crooked with wood screws barely penetrating the mortar. The whole effect is not only unstable and unsafe, it is extremly unappealing - with damage still remaining on the concrete steps. This is especially dangerous, as I recently had complete knee replacement surgery and rely on the railing to walk down steps. When I tried to contact the team about our concerns, we were initially told to just trust the process and that it would all work out. When we needed to go out of town, we asked them to pause the project until we returned (approx 10 days). They assured us they would wait until we got back to discuss what needed to be done to rectify the issues and finish the project. Instead, while on a whale-watching trip in Alaska, I received a call from Chris informing us that they had, in fact, decided to return while were gone and complete the work. I had very bad reception on my cell and was missing a lifetime experience, but explained that this was really unaccceptable and needed them to wait until we returned, as promised. However, they simply said the project was done and they would not be back. When we finally got home, we found metal debris left in the yard, a dangerous railing and contract specs undone, such as a 2-in overhang on the porch slab. To make matters worse, there was evidence of rain water accumulation under the porch.
Shoddy work, poor communication, broken promises.
