Naples is an incredible city to visit in Italy, and so few tourists do. Belle Arti Resort is situated in downtown Naples, a few blocks away from the hip Piazza Bellini, and a few more blocks away from the central Piazza Garibaldi. A few more blocks and you're on the waterfront. It is moments away from the archeological museum, a hot spot for many tourists. My parents, EC and I had a wonderful time at this hotel. Naples was our last stop in Itay, and we were in need of a great place to rest our feet and relax. Marco was very responsive over email, organizing a taxi for us from the train station (30 euro total for all four of us, a steal compared to some of the higher tourist cities). We were provided with maps of the city and an explanation of the general layout of Naples.
It's all in the details:
-Very clean.
-Modern decor: lots of artsy statues, photos, and design.
-My parents were able to hand in some laundry and had it back early the next day.
-One star away from five mainly because when I asked for suggestions on organizing a trip to Pompei, I felt that we were sold the Belle Arti recommendation of pricey car and tour guide, despite my asking for how Napolitans would organize a trip on a budget (and I was speaking in Italian, so it wasn't a lost-in-translation issue).
-A safe was available in the rooms for safe keeping.
-Binder with suggestions of things to do and advice on being a tourist in Naples - very American-hotel-ish, and great to have.
-Wifi and computer available in the lobby.
-Breakfast available, but through a tricky menu system of add-ons.
-The staff preparing breakfast does so in a hallway room, and with the marble floors it becomes very loud for those rooms nearby - we were woken up a few times by the noise.
Belle Arti was a great place for us to stay. It can be difficult to find hotel options in Naples, and this is a great one! read more
