First time here. We really love the atmosphere!! It's beautiful in here and I love the fine dining feeling. The menu looks fantastic! Our bruschetta and bacon wrapped shrimp where to die for!!!! The only complaint I have is that our server seems to have way too much on his plate. He is too busy. Too busy to take the kind of care a fine dining establishment should of you. I've been here 5+ times. I do enjoy it. I highly recommend it for special occasions. It is a little more pricy than the chains; not much. They are a small outfit so don't expect extensive menu choices. Set up reservations so they can be prepared with extra staff. We always choose one of the house recommendations. They have always been good and most of the time they have been excellent. It is not fast and not a good place for young kids. Didn't see anything that young kids would like. I was disappointed and surprised to see some of the negative reviews. We have always made reservations which may have helped. We had a wonderful experience here. The hostess was very courteous. Our waiter Christian was professional and personable. He gave us just the right amount of attention and never left us waiting. We ordered the filet with garlic mashed potatoes and the Arosto Italiano Chicken with Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. It was all very delicious and perfectly cooked! My husband and I went to eat here on a Wednesday night and they were not busy. My first indication that this was going to be a less than fine dining experience was when they brought the bread to the table. It was burnt. Then after a ridiculously long amount of time before getting our food my Maui arrive barely warm. It was very over cooked and the sauce was extremely salty. The Brussels sprouts were ok but nothing special. The waiter tried his best but was far from polished. My husbands food was also cold and nothing special. The food here was Great! I had the chix and andouille pasta. It was spicy but VERY TASTY! My husband had the Ahai Tuna. Huge piece of tuna and sides. He loved it!!!! The only reason I'm even giving this place one star is because the building and holiday decor were pleasing. The menu sounded very appetizing, but unfortunately we didn't get that far. We chose to go to Bella's to celebrate my birthday, as it's supposedly one of the best upscale restaurants in the area. After waiting 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by a Hostess (after ringing the bell as the welcome sign indicated to do), we waited for over 25 MINTUES without even so much as a passing glance from any of the servers. There were a few small parties at the restaurant, but overall the restaurant wasn't very busy. After the 25 minutes, my husband approached one of the servers to ask about being waited on, but she just shrugged and kept on going about her business. At that point we decided to leave and mentioned to the bartender why we were leaving on the way out. We overheard him tell the manager, who also did not seem to care that we were unsatisfied. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone; its hard to believe this place even exists after our experience with their 'customer service.' read more

This restaurant is amazing! I've been twice, but most recently, I took my girlfriend for a late lunch on Saturday, 21SEP2013. This was to be the meal before I proposed to her, so I wanted to make it extra special. Brent went out of his way to set up a table by itself in the middle of the restaurant, with rose petals on it, and even gave me the number to a harpist so I could hire her to be playing in the background. The chef went out of his way to ensure what we wanted to eat was made to perfection, and even presented in a way that went along with the theme. I had the filet mignon, and my fiance had the Italian chicken. It was perfect. It was an amazing experience, and I will continue to recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. I've been here twice with a large group (8 to 10) for business dinners. My favorite appetizer is the eggplant josephine. The crab and cheese dip is also amazing. The place has been under new management, I believe for about a year now, and the atmosphere is cozy with Italian music playing in the background. It is dimly lit, perfect for dates or a business dinner. The servers are very knowledgeable of the menu and always make great recommendations. I have not been while it is crowded, but both times the server was very attentive and did a fantastic job managing the large table. The drinks are strong, which makes it worth the price. The menu selection is limited, but I will say that they make those items very well. I was not terribly impressed with the steak, but the mahi-mahi was excellent. Another person with the group commented that the bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious and the salmon was a great choice. read more

Recently moved to Dothan and went to Bella's on the recommendation of friends. Beautiful venue in an old warehouse/retail building just off of Foster. The menu was diverse with an Italian influence, and there was something for everyone's taste. The service was spot on and the food was an absolute treat. We will be back soon. read more

DO. NOT. GO. The atmosphere is nice, as is the live music (though very loud), so drinks there would be fine, but never go for food. The only thing good was the crab and cheese dip, but there were tiny crab shells in even that. When we finally got our overpriced food from the ridiculously limited menu, it was barely warm. I got I think five mushroom ravioli, which was very mushroomy, true, but besides salt that was the only flavor. My husband got the lasagna, and it was cold and flavorless; Stauffer's oven lasagna tastes gourmet in comparison. My fiance and I went here for dinner after getting engaged. We made a reservation before hand and when we got to the restaurant we where seated in a corner of the room next to the office. It was a dark room but we had a spotlight coming down from above right onto us. It was somewhat blinding. Our waiter was also the bartender and they where out of all but one white wine. An Italian restaurant with only one white wine???? So I tried it and it was barely better than two buck chuck. Our waiter spent more time cleaning and getting ready to close than waiting on us. We felt like we where closing the place down at 7 o'clock. We had to ask him if we could order. Our salads came 25 minutes later and our main course came before we could even take two bites of our salad. My husband had the chicken Marsala which was great. The only great part of our experience. However my Lasagna was gross. Holly cow basil. Now don't get me wrong I love garlic, basil, oregano and such and I mean love. But the only taste in this dish was basil. I ate two bites and could't eat anymore. I was starving and I couldn't eat this dish. It was the worst Lasagna I have ever had. Our waiter never asked how our meal was or anything like that so I never had the chance to let him know something wasn't right with this dish. He then brought us the check without asking if we where ready. We said we wanted a desert he apologized and brought us our desert and the check at the same time. Bella's not only doesn't care about customers happiness but seems to want to rush us out. We spent $95 on the worst dinning experience of our lives. We were in town for a special occasion, first we get there and tell them reservations, the guy shook his head and said we didn't. (They were made 3 weeks in advance) we get seated, takes forever for anyone to take our drink order - we finally get our drinks and it takes forever for them to take our order. We had small child in our party and when they finally come around to take our order, they tell us they don't have a children's menu, told us they could throw some spaghetti together for her. Salads come out (best part of my meal) and then it takes forever for food to come out! Several in our party ordered the blackened shrimp/sausage pene pasta and enjoyed it, but the shrimp was grilled not blackened. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with blackened shrimp and the shrimp was so dry, I couldn't eat it. Two others from the group ordered a filet & a ribeye - both ordered medium rare and they got crispy chargrilled! We went Sat night 2/16/19 & it was an awful experience. We had reservations for 8pm and when we got there we had to wait for about 30 mins before getting a table. While waiting, another waiting couple with a RSVP got tired of waiting and cancelled and left. Another couple walked in and was told there's no open tables until closer to closing time & they left. On the way to a table, I slipped on wet spot on floor & braced my fall. We were given a table and it was super rocky. There were many tables available and free as we were seated. As we looked at the drink menu, we were given paper menu which was small & limited. I asked if it's today's specials and I was told no, that it was total menu to order from because they were running out of food Mind you they open at 5. We weren't told that when we made reservations, when we showed up, nor was it online. Reality was nothing compared to what they showcase on their website. My hubby orders a bourbon, super watered down. He orders another, same, and it had metal bottle cap in his drink. Waiter asked main bartender and he says it must've fallen in. Food was meh but tiramisu was soggy & cheesecake was dry. Waiter was the only plus to the whole night. Won't be returning at all, sorely disappointed. Had a very enjoyable evening with my wife on our "date nite". We went early so probably didn't need the reservation I made in advance. Kind of disappointed in seating myself. Had a chalkboard sign like you see at a lower level restaurant saying seat yourself. All in all I was very satisfied with the service. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We made reservations for our anniversary and we when we got there we saw only a few other diners. (We were told there was a 200 person party in "the other building" and a 20 person party in the back room.) We waited two hours for our food and so did everyone else. We watched three other couples leave. One of them was there before us. We waited it out since it was our first time there and wanted to see how the food was. It was not good! The ribeye was thin and the filet was tough. The potatoes were so undercooked I couldn't eat them. The broccoli seemed like what you would make out of steam fresh bag from the grocery store. We asked about sides and were told we would get whatever the cooks wanted to give us. You can't choose your sides at all. We were not even allowed to choose our salad dressing. Our waitress was friendly but brought us the wrong meal and then took it to another table who also sent it away. We were charged for three glasses of wine when I only had one and an appetizer we didn't order either. On top of all of this, the bathroom was a mess. No soap or paper towels. The mirror looked like it hadn't been washed in days and the sink had hair in it! Everything with the service was forgivable up until that point. We were there almost from opening and I only saw two ladies go in the restroom so it is not like it got filthy in just the time we were there. We will absolutely never go back there. If an establishment is going to have huge parties going on during normal business hours they need to have the ability to take care of their customers at the same time. read more

My husband and I visited Bella's to celebrate our anniversary. It is a little odd to seat yourself in a fine dining restaurant. However, as soon as we were seated the waitress greeted us and took our drink orders. She returned promptly with our drinks and took our order. Bread with olive oil dipping sauce and salads were delivered shortly after that. The salads were fresh and nicely composed, fresh olives, carrots, greens. I ordered the lime cilantro vinaigrette dressing - amazing! We enjoyed the atmosphere while waiting for our meals. The dining area is quiet, with soft jazz playing in the background. It's definitely a nice change from the crowded chain restaurants in town. I'm not sure how long it took our food to arrive, but I'd guess around 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Arrosoto Chicken, which is chicken in a white wine butter sauce topped with spinach and sundried tomatoes. It was delicious. Hubby ordered the seared tuna entree, which was served with wasabi. He said it was really good. Both entrees came with sauteed vegetables and scalloped potatoes. I could have ate a plate full of vegetables. They were reallly good. The dessert options were enticing, but we were both too full to have dessert. It was a delicious meal, and we really enjoyed ourselves. I had just returned from Europe, and I have to say that the experience at Bella's was better than any I had overseas - including dinner at a 2-star Michelin restaurant in Paris. My family made a reservation at Bella's for Saturday night to celebrate their father's 70th birthday...the whole family turned out...kids and grandkids...we were expecting a wonderful celebration with what we hoped was "FINE DINING"...there were so many problems with the evening I don't know where to begin. We had to wait a few minutes for seating which was not a problem...but once seated the confusion started. Our server was weak and seemed to be overwhelmed with our group...he could not keep up with our drinks..we were a party of 13 (which the restaurant was not prepared for even with our reservation)..plus the restaurant was not that busy...there were lots of empty tables and rooms around us...our server was also our bartender...???...he never asked if we wanted appetizers...when he finally got to our table he went straight to asking what we wanted for our entree...by then it was too late for appetizers...besides really horrendous service we were not pleased with the food...my son ordered a rib eye medium rare and I ordered a filet the same...both came well done...(his almost burnt)...the chef cooked him another steak which was mostly gristle and fat...and hard to cut with a steak knife...steak #2 was not eaten...everyone else's food was only fair and not very warm...This was our 3rd and last time to eat at Bella's...we keep trying, but no change...Several times the issues were brought to the manager's attention, but all we got was they were sorry...I feel the wait staff needs more training...We came in at 7:15 and didn't get out until 10:30...our food wasn't served until almost 9:30...not a good experience at all. read more
