I…read morealways tend to keep my kitchen stocked with new ingredients based on what cuisine or recipes are inspiring me at that moment. I got into the habit of ordering these specialty items on Amazon, simply out of convenience, but this year I decided I would try instead to support local businesses instead. Rather than running to Amazon when I needed a special spice, I scoured Yelp for local groceries that might have what I was looking for, and I found even more than I hoped to at Patel Brothers! I noticed immediately the store is spare, but clean and very organized. It was very easy to find the items I was looking for, and I was especially pleased to find they had fresh produce as well. I was really excited to find curry leaves here, which is used in a lot of Indian cooking, but I typically have a hard time finding them. At just $1 a bag. I felt like I hit the jackpot! I brought my husband along as well, and he stocked up on the great selection of snacks they had. I was also able to find all the spices I was looking for: Kashmiri chili powder, amchoor powder, and chaat masala. My only dismay was that all the spices are sold in pretty big bags, which I think would be appropriate for a family who uses these spices every day, but it would have been great if they had a bulk option instead so I can get a smaller amount. In any case, we came out with a great haul, and the cashier even offered us a freshly made samosa on our way out, which was delicious. Here's to supporting more local businesses in 2020, and the beauty that ethnic groceries have to offer!

I like that they have most of the things I need from raw material to prepared food. The owners are nice and friendly. I visit this place almost every weekend and always found what I was looking for. I have never had to ask the owners about anything but I am sure they are helpful if you ask them any questions. They also have occasional exhibits of jewelry of Indian origin if anyone is interested. A nice neighborhood grocery store.

We started with the Frickles, crispy pickle chips served with honey mustard and sriracha 1000 island dressing. The sriracha 1000 island is so good that we always ask for an extra side to dip our fries and chips in. I ordered a house salad with the Bumbleberry Poppy Seed dressing, which was fresh and flavorful. My youngest son stuck with his usual favorite, the Smoked Brisket Poutine, which never disappoints. My husband ordered the June special, the 5-OH Burger. This massive burger features an 8-ounce patty topped with ghost pepper cheese, Hawaiian BBQ candied jalapeños, bacon, onion straws, a grilled pineapple ring, and a cream cheese jalapeño popper. The flavor combination was outstanding, and the spice had a delayed kick that sneaks up on you a few seconds after each bite. My oldest son went with the BBQ Burger, loaded with smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, house bacon, onion straws, pickles, and horsey sauce. Another excellent choice. To wash it all down, my husband enjoyed two beers: the Hazy Headhunter and Hop Thunder from Down Under, both of which he really liked. The food is consistently great, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. Today we sat outdoors on the large patio. After all these years, Fat Head's continues to be one of our family's favorite places to eat. Highly recommended!

I stopped in last minute while out running errands. I was seated immediately on a busy Saturday late morning and greeted right after. The menu is fantastic. Great options, wonderful seasonal specials. (Short rib omelette?! Hell yes!) I wanted basic, so I built my own omelette with a side of bacon and a hot tea. They have a great drink menu- coffee, specialty cocoas, tea, cocktails, mocktails, and refreshers. I was on my way to see a friend, so I grabbed us each a refresher to go. My meal was out in just minutes. Expertly prepared, fresh and delicious. Also a very nice portion. Sourdough toast was excellent. Generous filling for the omelette too. The only drawback was a common plight for strip mall restaurants- entrance that opens straight into the dining room. No foyer or vestibule means the cold January air nipped you in the face every time that front door opened. On cold days, get a table in the back. I'd like to highlight the mocktail concept, too. I often want a spirited drink but don't imbibe booze often. I love that they have offerings. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. I can't wait to come back!
