I love the food at Bellagreen. The food is fresh and always tastes great. The salmon and the quinoa mac and cheese are my favorites! Ive eaten there for years and the food is consistently. Highly recommend! read more

My kids love this place so much that they asked that I write a review. They devoured the kids cheese pizza.... And then ask for another. Turkey lettuce wraps were quite tasty as well. I got the fried goat cheese and arugula salad with salmon and it was very filling, with lots of texture and flavor. read more

Great burger and fries. Also, the "corn tortillas" are made from almond flour and are absolutely delicious!

This restaurant was such fun! It's in a great neighborhood, cool building with lots of parking. We had no wait which is remarkable for a Saturday night. It was full but didn't feel crowded & loud like some places. I had the fish tacos. They were very good. They come with 3 sauces so you can mix & match your heat. Oh, & try the pickles from the fountain stand. Delish! The manager gave us dessert on the house! Divine!!!! A must try!!! read more

The most hospitable restaurant in the city of Houston. The people here are 5 star all around, as is the food! Found myself in a bit of a bind this morning and Mike, the GM, could not have been more gracious and helpful. He took hospitality and service to the next level to accommodate my requests and made the impossible, possible. My office loves ordering lunch from Bellagreen and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful, healthy restaurant right in the neighborhood. read more

This location is just as good as the City Centre/Town & Country one. I usually get the margherita pizza but this time got the Dale's pizza (bacon, ham, basil, creme fraiche, and cheese). My friend got the grilled chicken sandwich and said the meat wasn't salty enough. That might have to do with her taking out the bacon...and other stuff but whatever, she's a picky eater so I can't validate what she says about food most of the time. The pizza was great. I love their crust here - nice and airy and crisp, not overly doughy. It's also big enough to share and be full afterwards. The service was great as usual and the restaurant clean and with ample seating - much more than the City Centre location. There's also a parking lot so you don't have to meter park or go find a garage. Also download the app for free dessert! Totally worth! Last time I got the bread pudding, this time my friend got the carrot cake. read more

I have been to Ruggles Green numerous times. I have always been pleased with their menu and offerings. This location is new and honestly, it's feels more welcoming than their old location. It's more open and feels like a breath of fresh air. (They even have the words "fresh" on their wall) I got the Blackened Shrimp Salad and White Chocolate Bread Pudding for lunch this time. It was perfect! The shrimp was huge and succulent. The spring mix tasted fresh instead of days old, the strawberries were sweet and the dressing was not overwhelming. I would recommend this light salad for everyone looking for something to compliment this hot Houston weather. Their bread pudding.. I am speechless. It's clear why it's an award winning dessert. It's so creamy and comes out hot and so tasty. It melts in your mouth but it's not too mushy. I would say to try this dish as your first time. Then I would try their red velvet cake for the next time. The staff is very friendly. You just have to order at the register and they will take care of the rest! Only downside is the parking. They need a much bigger lot. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect of this place and after a little difficulty figuring out where to park I ended up pleasently suprsied with my experience. I had a pizza which is plenty big to share and therefore not a bad price at $15. It was full of tasting toppings and cooked just right for a thinner but not crispy crust. Sitting on the patio is nice as well, good ambiance. However, the place filled up on a weeknight which suggests that going here on the weekend might be frustrating. It's not soo "green" that it scared me away, so I bet that most people will find something to enjoy here. read more

The service is really top notch. I had a question about the origin of the shrimp and thr manager was kind enough to go find out where it was sourced. I then ordered shrimp on my salad and the entire thing was delicious! read more

Ruggles Green is a Houston institution. It's healthy, it's easy, and I always overspend but I'm never disappointed. I recommend checking out the specials but you can't go wrong with their salads or their tacos. Counter service makes it perfect for groups and the covered patio allows you can enjoy a breeze without the sunburn. read more

Manager Aziza is completely unprofessional and immature. We ordered a burger medium rare and it was cooked well, so I walked back inside with the plate and asked her to take it off of the check because we had a toddler with us and didn't have time to wait another 20 minutes for food. She was suddenly silent and would not respond when I asked "so you need my card?" I walked back with my card to a snotty glare. When I sat back down to have my food that I was now sharing with my partner it was soggy and bland (it had probably been sitting in the window while they cooked our burger well done). She came back with the check and I told her this was unacceptable as well. She refused to apologize, ask why, or even be civil but instead was silent. I told her to just take the sandwich off too, so she stormed off again. I am shocked I had to ask for any refund to begin with. The only person that enjoyed their meal was our son, but a kitchen cannot continuously put out food that is soggy, overcooked and flavorless and be paired with a rude, unprofessional manager. I can't be the first person to notice that this manager needs to be replaced - she has the attitude of a 15 year old that was grounded for mouthing off!! When I asked the busser if Aziza was the manager he nodded yes, so I asked him if other customers complain about her attitude and he gave me a knowing look. That sorta broke my heart a little. I hope he and the other employees aren't subjected to her awful behavior as well. That kind of work environment doesn't make anyone happy to be there. I'll spare you the other details that missed the mark because they're little things that happen in lots of counter service places and they're understandable. However, after serving at high end fine dining restaurants for 15 years I have seen quite a bit in the manager-with-misdirected-anger category. This was off the charts: customers at tables nearby saying they were in awe of her behavior under their breath? I understand it was the Monday night dinner rush (let's be realistic though), but a manager on the verge of snapping at a customer because of food issues is a liability. read more

Ok so I just got here to pick up food at the river oaks location and was shocked to see that no one! NO ONE person working in there including the kitchen and pizza making staff was wearing any type of masks, plus the front of the house were not keeping any type of social distancing, there where like 6 people there ( including what looked like a manager) chating and hanging out like there was these pandemic going on, needles to say GROSS and way irresponsable. read more

I'm a fan, mainly because they have an affordable wine menu. You can get a bottle of wine for as low as $16! It totally beats getting a glass of wine or beer there. Also the fish and shrimp tacos are really good and it's a good size portion. They come with 4 mini tacos. Definitely a good place to get a casual lunch. I will say though because it is tucked away in the new gables apartment complex it does feel super college-y since everyone's still in their big tee and nike shorts. read more

My friend got the Veggie Wrap w Fries-she said the first half of the wrap was good because the sauce they have on it made the wrap pretty soggy by the middle of eating it. Other than that, the dish was good. Pretty wide variety of vegetables on it, the fries were thick, steak fries! I got the Fried Goat Cheese and Arugula Salad. And it was amazing. I added grilled salmon for some extra protein. So it was a pretty pricey salad, but definitely worth it! The dressing compliments well with the sweetness of the goat cheese. And it made the arugula not as bitter. It was a great combination of flavors. read more

Gotten take out here numerous times, but today was my first dine-in experience. The food emphasizes american classics with a healthy, sustainable, local twist. The food is decent, but overpriced for what it's worth. Some dishes that I've tried: - The Atlantic Salmon Salad: 3/5, decent, overall fresh, but nothing extraordinary. Your typical slab of fish on a bed of greens. - Ruggles green goat cheese Salad: 3/5, same comment as the Atlantic Salmon Salad. Fresh, with a healthy portion of goat cheese, but without any amazing flavors. - Turkey Buger: 2/5, dry, bland, on a similarly dry bun. Could have definitely done better elsewhere - Crab and shrimp pasta: 2/5, a bit salty and greasy, - Margharita pizza: 3/5, good flavor, would recommend. Parking is a nightmare. While they have their own private lot inside the parking garage, the actual number of parking spots is very limited. Additionally, it does get very crowded, so be ready to wait if you decide to come on a weekend. Not sure I'd want to come back for another dine-in experience. read more

Solid place. I can see why it gets crowded. The menu options are varied but not to the point where you feel they over reach. The atmosphere is a cool collection of indoor and outdoor table vs booth. The staff seemed happy and eager to be working, making it a quick turnaround despite the popularity at peak times. Had the Margherita pizza: just the right amount of cheese, large chunks of tomato, and full basil leaves. The dough was an enjoyable thinness which meant that it was just slightly soggy at the first bite but crisped up at the crust. Appreciated the brick oven taste. My wife had the veggie tacos which were a surprise. I questioned the lack of meat, but one bite in and I was a believer. There is some heartiness to the tacos that makes you not miss the meat filling (can't believe I'm writing this)... read more

I had the shrimp tacos and they were TERRIBLE. The tomatoes and veggies were so wet they were seeping through the tortilla bread. My friend didn't like her veggie wrap either. Service was mediocre, nothing to remember read more

The food here is good and there are lots of healthy options. I really love the tomato basil soup. However, it would be awesome if they could put less cheese in the bowl. Its like 8tbsps of cheese. Seriously. A glop of cheese. I pulled half the cheese out and tore off the potpie like crust. The actual soup is spicy and flavorful. No need to muck it up. Their bread pudding is so good it will put you to tears! If you don't get that...your missing out. Eat a healthy lunch...chase it with bread pudding. Its just the right thing to do. read more

The new location just down the street from the old is much more roomy and seems more comfy too. Parking is a bit tricky because every space in the new building is very narrow. We went for an early lunch. So, the usual throng of people had yet to arrive or were not aware of the new location. The thing that really stands out to me about Ruggles Green is the attention to technique and execution of the food they serve. Of course, starting with really good quality ingredients doesn't hurt. read more

I really love this place. I get the cheese steak panini. It has great bread and lots of grilled veggies and huge mushrooms. The meat has good flavor and the sauce it's cooked in is pretty good too, almost like an asian tasting sauce. I also get the sweet potato fries. They're more like a guilty pleasure since they're pretty salty and taste amazing with ketchup, you could eat them forever. The crowds here are never too bad the times I went and the service is really nice. I also like their togo boxes, they're not styrofoam or plastic, but more of a earth friendly material. The parking is a little tight and can be scary if you have a big/long car. read more

This place is the best place for salad - and A LOT of it. I ordered the Ruggles Green Goat Cheese salad with grilled shrimp. (You only get five pieces of shrimp, but that's typical of almost every restaurant the serves salad w/ shrimp) The dish is made with mixed greens, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes, sliced apples, parmesan cheese; tossed with creamy sun-dried tomato vinaigrette with almond crusted goat cheese medallion. I like my salads to be cut up in small, bite sized pieces, and to not be overwhelmed with dressing. That's what I got here. There was a generous serving of goat cheese and the vinaigrette to greens ratio was just right. The apple was also sliced up into tiny pieces (other restaurants give me these huge pieces of apple and I'm always struggling to get a little bit of it in every bite). I didn't even finish my salad because they served me so much of it, what a deal! My husband ordered the margherita pizza and he did not like it all. He said there was too much cheese and tomato sauce for it to be truly a margherita pizza. I didn't taste it but the man's obsessed with margherita pizza so I'd believe him. Anyway, I loved my salad too much to let his critique affect my rating. read more

This is my favorite place all over houston. I've been coming for years, since it was Ruggles Green. The food is amazing, I have tried most of the items here and no plate has disappointed me. I have brought friends and family many times to make them try it. Today I am writing this review to qualify the service of specifically the cashier who made our meal a disaster. It was me and my family (6 people in total). I arrived to the cashier to order our food. I was totally ignored, even if the cashier was right in front of me. I have to say "hello" just to receive a bad look and a "hi" back. I asked, "can we order?" Once again he replies basically rolling his eyes and looking at me like - what a stupid question- telling me: "of course..." I order 6 plates in total, and I order 6 glasses of water. Bad looks from his side during the entire process of ordering. He did not double check the order, I just paid and I went to my table. Food arrives for 4 of us. 10 minutes pass and I go to ask for the other two plates. I had to speak with the same cashier and I tell him we were waiting for 2 more plates. Bad looks again, he checked the order and he tells me he just put 1 salmon instead of three. He looks at me like : what do you want me to do and he tells me: "So, we do it?" I reply, of course, two members of my family don't have food. Then I pay the remaining plates and at this point I ask for his name. He gets close to me with a challenging attitude telling me these exact words "you may call me Kevin." I go back to my table and the 2 remaining plates arrive. I wanted to double check the name of the person and I asked to another member of the staff about the name of the cashier, I give his description and the member of the staff tells me his name is Daniel (he lied to me about his real name). I love this place and I am really disappointed about this visit, not sure when will I be back after this experience. Just a heads up to the manager to be careful with his/her people. It is not fair that one person ruins the image of an entire team. read more

Always a favorite of mine. Delicious food, fast service. I haven't tried too many things on the menu because I love their Ceaser wrap so much. If you order DoorDash catering and leave a tip, the restaurant pockets it. Our DoorDash group has had several posts about this happening at Bellagreen lately, and when we contacted EzCater, the company that helps them cater, they told us they are allowed to "make the decision as to how that tip is allocated". Be aware!! Edit: they have responded that they use your tip to tip share their workers instead of the DD driver. I work as a server and to-go, and we don't get tipped on DoorDash orders, because they weren't intended for us. We get over it. That's wrong of you and you should make a note on your DoorDash page that customer tips will be pocketed by you. read more

Looked up a gluten-free place when going southwest from downtown to accommodate a member of our work crew. The four of us ordered three different items, and everyone's was superb. I must say, the Mac and cheese prepared fresh in restaurant was much more tastier than the delivery and it was still nice delivered but what can you really expect with it being gluten free. The service was polite and prompt. The actual restaurant is cute with a homely feel and it is self service. For me bellagreen is my go to "cheat meal" as when I do want some tasty carbs my go to is always pasta, fries and cake!! Bellagreen do all three and gluten free!!
