Stains on their towels (thin as paper)

Can I give this place a negative one million? The worst experience I've ever had (and I travel internationally). I have never met someone so condescending, arrogant, rude, and dismissive in my life. Once you book, the owner is hard to reach. He said to just text him, so I did and it would still take a few days for him to respond. He has a cat that roams around the house, but he doesn't disclose it. When I arrived, I told him I'm very allergic to cats and why he didn't tell me before I booked, he said, "Well, your here now. You seem fine." (As my eyes are watering and nose is running) Them he told me to just take my allergy medication. I was the first person to book months in advance and I was very specific with what I wanted in a room. Instead, he put me in a room with tons of light (no curtains), the world's smallest shower (we couldn't fit in it), ripped sheets, and it was the cats hang out room too (cat kept clawing at our door the next day). When I noticed another empty room that had a decent shower and was empty, I asked if we can just stay there. He said sure, but we can't move our stuff because he wasn't done cleaning yet (keep in mind, the check in time is between 4-6 and this was past 6pm when I asked). We told him we were hungry and we'd like the room when we get back. He said it's fine. When we came back, he gave the room away. I tried calling, but he didn't pick up, after several texts, he said I could stay in the other open room (that was smaller, no curtains, no a/c, and another tiny shower). Considering the cat ruled the house, and was hanging out by the dishes in the sink when we came back from dinner, we decided to cut our losses and not stay a 2nd night and not attempt to have breakfast on dishes with possible cat dander.

Where do I start? ! This was a Groupon I had picked up. We arrived at 3pm, and the host, Aaron was tending for 2 young children inside the home. When he greeted us, he stated he still had to clean the rooms and wasn't even sure what room we had booked! He said to give him until 4:15!. We got back at 4:15, and he was still cleaning or room. There was a cat roaming around, which caused a slight of odor inside. It did not look like a B&B inside. In order to get ice and glasses, we had to rummage through the kitchen cabinets. No ice buckets or adult glasses available. The carpeting in the hallways were stained. He keeps all the rooms, including the front door unlocked 24/7, making me feel very unsafe! He managed to find a key in another door so we could lockup or room. It appeared to work on all the guest room doors! Once inside for the night, we found stained towels inside the bathroom. Our room and bathroom was, on the other hand, quite clean and spacious. That was the only plus. We heard the 2 children running around and screaming on and off until 8:30. We were told checkout time was around 11:00 and breakfast would be served between 8:30 and 9am. Really? A half hour span for breakfast? There are no bars around and really no restaurants in the area. The only plus about this stay was our dinner at Aroma del sol restaurant about 2 miles away. Awesome traditional Columbian food! Needless to say, we were woken up by screaming kids and stomping around at 7:30am! We decided to shower and leave, even though Aaron offered us a seat at the kitchen table with 3 other people. No thanks. Would not recommend this place to anyone!

If you're looking for a fancy place to stay with new amenities, this is not for you. Bella Vista is cozy, family friendly, homey and clean. Free WiFi and flat screen TVs in every room. While we really enjoyed our stay, the best part was breakfast. Everything was delicious... especially the pancakes! I enjoyed the conversation with other guests as well as Aaron, the owner, who is friendly & down to earth. It is located close to downtown Lancaster... only 15/20 minute drive to get anywhere we wanted to go. Also there is a cat that roams around. His name is Oliver and he is very friendly.

I stayed in the floral room and it was clean, beautiful and cozy...

I woke up the sound of the friendly goat baaa'ing and the spectacular array of colors of the sky in Lancaster. Pristine grounds, wonderful country area but very close to "civilization" if you want to pop out to restaurants or stores (I didn't even rent a car and just grabbed a Lyft). Ben and Emma are excellent hosts. Ben will answer any question you have! Emma is a great cook, and also an amazing hostess who will answer your questions. I learned so much!! And a wonderful buggy ride!! And fresh eggs from the hens. Ben is kind to his animals which I appreciated. So a couple of things - there are open grates in all the rooms and the bathroom. I guess so that heat is evenly distributed. But this is a tad odd as it means like zero privacy through the rooms. Also, for an animal lover like me I really hope Ben (or his tenant) will get the mama cat on his property spayed - and the kittens.

Don't get me wrong, the grounds are nice as well, but we were usually stuck by the pool I have been trying to drag all my friends with kids to Sue's place since my friend and I discovered back in Oct (?). It is just a wonderful place to come to. The B&B is a house with 4 rooms (5th as an add-on to another one only) and a enclosed pool area that has picnic seating and lounge chairs, hot tub and entry lounge area with a dining table that we used to eat dinners and lunches by the pool. The rooms were pretty quiet - the downstairs one is ADA compliant and ok for pets, but we loved this room most because it was open to the pool area. Just keep in mind that this room tends to run colder than the other 3 rooms in the house for those of you who are sensitive to the cold. Above the pool-side room is what I like to call "honeymoon suite" it has a nice bed area with deck overlooking the pool and upstairs bathroom (i didnt get to try all those fancy buttons on the whirlpool tub, but I did end up having a tri-head shower along the way) The other 2 rooms are smaller, but one has an en-suite and the other has the hall bath with the option to book the room next to it for bigger parties. Do you know what else is nice? Sue leaves the Netflix and Amazon logged in on the TVs - I did not have to go through the annoying task of loading all of my accounts on and trying to remember to log-off when I was leaving. It is a really nice touch. Let's move on to my favorite part - THE FOOD. Holy smokes Sue can cook. Sure, I love her fancier meals, but the more homestyle, comfy ones area just... wow. I feel about 3x bigger just saying this. She will keep feeding you if you are still hungry (Don't judge.. I did get seconds almost EVERY time). She has a little refrigerator and though to stock it with drinks (who ever remembers to bring bottle water anyway?) and freezer with ice cream (the kids went nuts). Sue also leaves out the Keurig and a baked good on the table so you can help yourself to your ever expanding waistline as you relax in this quiet little retreat. I've been to some of the most incredible B&Bs (stuffy and not quite-so), but as nice as those were, I felt like I could put my hair down, relax with the kids, and just ENJOY my time with them as the pandemic raged on outside what felt like "home" to me. GO...and keep going (but not when I go - jk). Eat, swim, stroll the grounds, sleep...and just RELAX and let Sue handle everything - she's made for this

There's nothing that annoys me more than B&B operators who feel they have to be so nice and helpful that they smother you. The Lititz House wasn't like this at all. John and Heidi, the owners, made us feel like we were visiting friends, but were very professional and competent at the same time. Not an easy trick to pull off. The rooms were cozy, with bathrooms for all. Keeping in mind this is a 100 year old house, the retrofitting is mostly seamless. A couple of the bathrooms were on the small side, but no smaller than your own house. Breakfast was excellent, and the coffee and juices are a standout. (I know that sounds silly, but they were fantastic)
