I've had plenty of hot stone massages over the years, but this felt different. The warm salt stones seemed to provide a deeper, more soothing experience, and it was so relaxing that I actually dozed off for a bit, which almost never happens. What I appreciate most about Shibui is that it feels genuinely welcoming. It's upscale without being stuffy, and everyone we encountered made us feel right at home. I also enjoyed browsing the spa shop afterward. They have a nice selection of products and gifts. If you're staying at FivePine, put Shibui on your list. The space is very clean and inviting- complete with a lovely hot tea and flavored water. Oh, and how could I forget the complimentary nuts? You can purchase day passes for around $30. If you book a service, you gain access to the sauna and hot tub. I had the eyelash tint and lift and the woman who did was very talented and personable. I booked myself a facial as a rare self-care treat in the hopes that I could relax and enjoy being pampered for an hour. When I arrived, I was asked to complete a form and then sat with a sales associate for 20 minutes as they prepped me for the sales pitch to come post-treatment. The salesperson showed me a series of before and after photos of women who had been granted permission to purchase 12-month packages to the tune of $300/month. (They tell you it is only offered if your skin responds to the treatment-a classic snake oil sales tactic.) When I asked what happens if my skin shows no improvement after the facial, she said I would be "given a hug and told I needed botox and fillers". At this point, I was kicking myself for booking a service here (really curious how they have 5 stars) but was hoping at least the facial would be nice and then I could just pay and leave. I went to use the restroom (which was very dirty) and went into the treatment room with the person who did my service. At the time of booking, I was assigned Duran, the aesthetician on their website who had great reviews. When I arrived, they assigned me someone else without notice. The other aesthetician (Kristen?) was nice and knowledgable, but I felt so uncomfortable from my first 20 minutes in this place it was hard to relax. She took up close photos of my face with top-down lighting as "before" and "after" pictures. I was not asked permission and felt really uncomfortable with this. At this point, I realized I made a huge mistake in coming here. I also knew the hard sell was going to hit me as soon as I was done. I was offered a glass of water and told to sit down and drink it while the salesperson showed me the pictures of my face and neck, pointing out every imperfection she could find. She said I responded "beautifully" to the treatment (I honestly looked worse afterwards) and offered me the $3,600 package to help me "turn back the years". When I declined, she offered me 40% off of a $375 serum and $250 exfoliating peel. While the products seemed nice, I was so off-put by the entire experience I asked to just pay for the facial and leave. I'm leaving one star because Kristen was nice and zero stars is not an option on here. If you are looking for a relaxing spa treatment without the hassle I went through, I suggest looking elsewhere.

The whole time they are trying to make a pitch to sell their medical grade red light therapy wand and their overly priced products. It lasts about 40 minutes, but I couldn't wait to get out of there so I was happy it was cut short. Once the "facial" is done, you sit with their sales ppl and that's where they try to close you on a 6500.00 purchase showing you several before/after photos of clients. I have no idea how this place has such good reviews. I can only imagine these individuals have never had a real facial and don't have a proper comparison. There was nothing relaxing about it. It was a waste of money and a horrible experience. Really makes me question reviews now.
