Had a lovely visit to the Lounge. Leela was so warm; I immediately felt comfortable and welcome. The services went well and she followed up to see how things settled. Also, the space is super cute and parking is easy :)

With that being said, I was extremely satisfied with my first consult and treatment today, Hannah listened to me and considered my specific hair growth pattern, came up with a plan and package to target my concern areas, and had great bedside manner throughout. I also feel like the pricing was extremely reasonable compared to what I've received outside this area, but I did benefit from a "buy 5, get 3 free" package they are running until Nov 22nd. Also love that after those 8 treatments, they offer 50% off for "maintenance" treatments on spots that just need a refresh! I know I sound like a paid advertisement but I truly was so happy with the process today!

When I raised my concerns, I was told by Taylor, the injector that it was due to "my budget," and my request for a corrective session was outright refused. On top of that, the minimal results faded unusually fast...less than a month, making me question whether genuine Botox was used or the injections were not in proper area. I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience. Proper technique, transparency and respect for patients are essential, and unfortunately, I didn't see any of that here.

I have seen both Tana and Traci (there's not many electrolysis places in Bend) and at first, it felt professional with Traci's nice studio and Tana's sweet demeanor (a little weird at times waiting in her driveway for your appointment at her home studio) but my last treatment with Tana I was rushed out the door, charged $80 for an incomplete 30min session (super noticeable hairs not being treated) even though she prides herself on being thorough and I was shocked how unprofessional she was treating me. I could go on but it was so bad and will never give her my business. They both insist on scheduling all your appointments but it feels better for them (and slightly desperate) rather than making sense for your needs and the science behind the hair growth. My new Electrolyist's session felt different during the treatment and after talking, she mentioned that the hairs being treated might have been plucked (faster during the session but increases hair growth). Just keep this in mind as your looking-

I couldn't pick a favorite part if i tried, but the highlights included the hot towels and steam, the scalp, neck and shoulder massage, the amazing products and the noticeable, visible results. I appreciated that she informed me about what she was doing, but also let me quietly relax. I didn't want it to end. I'll be back, and I highly recommend her!

This is completely untrue since I never received a phone call or voicemail message or letter in the mail. The ONLY communication from them regarding this was the letter saying I've been referred to their collection agency. Bend Dermatology charged me a $3.70 collection fee and I had to pay the collection agency $2.50 to pay the balance (which was $23.18) via credit card (checks are free) so I paid $6.20 more than the balance due to these shenanigans. Save yourself the inconvenience and incompetence of this business and look elsewhere. I should have looked at Yelp before making an appointment with Bend Dermatology as the low ratings (that are well earned) would have caused me to go somewhere else. BTW, my PCP referred me to Bend Dermatology so the next time I see her, I'll let her know that this is a disservice to her patients.

I needed to focus on my daughter first, but I also feel a responsibility to share our experience for others who may be seeking care. I am a Bend native, and Bend Dermatology has always been the go-to in town. When my child was diagnosed with alopecia areata, we were referred there by another doctor. Unfortunately, our experience with the physician who specializes in alopecia areata was one of the most disappointing and upsetting medical experiences I've ever had. From the very first appointment, this doctor showed no bedside manner, no sensitivity, and no grace. My daughter and I left multiple visits in tears--feeling unheard, unseen, pushed, and disrespected. At one point, very private information about my daughter's diagnosis was spoken loudly from across the hall, leaving her embarrassed and humiliated. The language used was blunt, cold, and unnecessarily harsh for a vulnerable preteen. The doctor suggested procedures like scalp biopsies requiring stitches, explained in such a clinical and frightening way that my daughter felt terrified. When we asked about other options, she called in her superior--who confirmed that those procedures weren't even necessary and that alternatives existed. This contradiction only added more stress and confusion. What concerned me most was their push for my daughter to start a medication that wasn't FDA-approved for her age. She was 11 at the time, and the drug is only approved for 12+. The suggestion to start her on it early felt careless and dismissive of the very risks they themselves had emphasized regarding insurance approval, bloodwork, and safety protocols. Neither of us felt comfortable moving forward, and I was disturbed by the pressure to do so. To make sure it wasn't just me, my sister--who has decades of professional experience attending doctor's appointments with clients--came with us to one of the visits. She told me it was one of the worst appointments she'd ever witnessed. That, to me, speaks volumes. I will not name the doctor, but Bend Dermatology will know who I am referring to. What I will say is this: if you or your loved one is dealing with something as personal and vulnerable as alopecia areata, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Thankfully, we found a new dermatology office above the Old Mill that has been a complete breath of fresh air. They welcomed my daughter with compassion, validation, and professionalism, creating an environment where she felt safe and supported. The difference was night and day. Good riddance to Bend Dermatology. I would not recommend them for alopecia areata--or any condition that requires sensitivity, empathy, and respect.
