Throughout the planning, Sam stayed connected to us via telephone and text messaging. Once we provided Sam with the color scheme, she went to work and provided us with many options. Sam would text photos of different setups, giving us examples of what our wedding could look like. Sam was very flexible and assessable. She would address our changes without delay. Sam met us at the venue two weeks prior to the wedding and conducted a walk-through. Sam later drew up a diagram of the venue which included the table placement. On the day of the wedding, Sam arrived hours early to began the setup. Her team got to work and once completed, the venue was absolutely beautiful. We chose a floral ring with a white drape as our backdrop which was very nicely done. Sam completed our seating chart which was displayed at the entrance of the venue. Sam also, put together our sweetheart table, welcome table and a welcome sign. This was one of the biggest days of our lives and Sam really came through for us. Our guest were thoroughly impressed at the setup as so were we. Sam returned to the venue just as the reception ended. Once again, Sam's team went to work and in no time completed the tear down. What made the situation especially disturbing was that he told me God was going to punish me and that if I parked in front of his restaurant again, he was going to "teach me a lesson." I found those comments intimidating and completely inappropriate. He also appears to reserve parking spaces both in front of and behind the restaurant for himself, as though he has the authority to control public parking. A business owner does not get to simply claim public parking spaces for themselves or confront and intimidate people who park there. If there is a legitimate parking restriction, that should be handled through the appropriate signs, permits, or city enforcement--not by personally confronting people, yelling at them, invoking God to threaten punishment, and telling them you're going to "teach them a lesson." After this experience, I would not feel comfortable supporting this business. The way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable and unnecessarily hostile.

The evening started with us being made to wait 15-20 minutes, despite there being multiple empty tables. We were then seated at what appeared to be the farthest and most isolated corner of the restaurant. I specifically asked the manager, Kevin, if we could be seated somewhere else. His response was that the other tables were reserved for "regulars." Apparently, being a paying customer on a birthday isn't quite enough to qualify for a decent table. What made it worse was that many of those tables appeared to remain empty throughout our visit. When we asked again, Kevin didn't even bother coming over to speak with us. He simply sent someone else. That was a great way to start a birthday dinner. Then there is the restaurant's claim that it has a "business formal" dress code. That was probably the funniest part of the evening. I watched a man walk in wearing torn jeans and a hoodie. I also saw another guest wearing a hoodie. So apparently "business formal" means whatever the restaurant decides it means when someone walks through the door. But the seating and dress code would have been easy to overlook if the food had been worth it. It wasn't. I have been fortunate enough to eat at some of the best Italian and French restaurants around the world. This was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had. The restaurant has all the appearance of a place that expects to be taken very seriously. Unfortunately, the food did absolutely nothing to justify it. We decided to skip the appetizers and order only entrées. Looking back, thank goodness we didn't order more. My wife's entrée was so excessively salty that it was practically inedible. We had to send it back. The restaurant then brought out complimentary arancini as an apology. I couldn't even get through the first bite. We were then given something else that appeared to be some kind of cornbread. At that point, the entire dinner had become almost absurd. A restaurant charging the kind of prices associated with an upscale dining experience should not be serving an entrée that is excessively salty and then following it up with terrible aranchini. For a place that seems to put so much importance on its image, the actual experience was remarkably far from what you would expect. If you want to spend your money waiting to be seated, being treated as though you're less important because you're not a "regular," sitting in the corner, watching the restaurant selectively enforce its own dress code, and sending back food because it is either excessively salty or undercooked, then by all means, come here. Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about the food and the people paying for it. We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Instead, we spent the evening wondering why we chose this restaurant in the first place. Never again.
