I am a super fan of Ray's wine. Love that he is local, love his wine making style, and of course like all the wines. Bonus is the wonderful label art, the "bad boy theme" and food at his wine tastings. He has wine tastings on Saturday which I highly recommend!

We love the wine, the Saturday tastings, and Ray. We're finally venturing out again and this was one of first places - it did not disappoint! The tasting room is in a "warehouse" area - isn't that where all the good local gems are these days? Whenever we bring Travieso wine to parties, they ask for more. Ray is super welcoming and he makes you feel at home.

    Super cool artsy labels

Amazing artsy labels with wine that lives up to them. Delightful surprise on SC passport weekend. Cost to worth it rating: 3 (bottles mostly ~$30-40) Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best wine label art Highlights: - Labels: works of art, dark creatures on dark bottles - Naming: not just plain varietal and appelation, but names like la chucacabra and el rey - Wine: syrah heavy (but I like syrahs), some single vineyard, some extended aged, some blends. My fave was the amaranta: fruity, full, intense, yet smooth. - Tasting room feel: welcoming pourers explaining the wines proficiently and with passion, club-like remix and at time ethnic music that had strong beats to it in a close-quartered narrow garage-like space - Snacks: for passport weekend, they had a variety of cheeses, olives, crackers, bread and grapes with walnuts - No tasting fee: gotta love the probono fun Lowlights: - No white tasting: I saw they make a viogner (one of my favorite whites), but weren't tasting it - Only open for passport weekends: 3rd sat beginning each quarter, however I hear you can taste and purchase some of their wines weekends at Pinder a few garages down Serridipitous find I'd love to come back to.

    Coolest wine labels ever

A great stop to have a nice sip and hear a great story Would be an awesome date night surprise before dinner or to start an outing It is in a weird location.....just keep driving and the art alone is worth the drive

Travieso & Pinder have won a fair amount of ribbons recently.

Stonework lines the walkways and is a major element in the physical structures. The buildings are all quietly nestled into the hills thus preserving the rural atmosphere of the property. You are directed to park at the top of the hill and then you take an enjoyable golf cart ride down to the tasting area. On the way day, you get to see a big portion of their beautiful grounds with benches and chairs spread out to sit on if you choose to. I'm sure you can also walk from the parking lot to the tasting area since there are pathways and steps everywhere but I opted for the fun golf cart ride. :) Their wine is fantastic. I even had a chance to meet the wine maker who is incredibly nice. He was pouring the wines and seemed to really care about everyone. They had to red wines to taste and both were so good! As an added bonus, they also had free BBQ! Can't beat that!

Today I planned my visit because I just knew I couldn't keep passing this place without trying it. Upon arrival, there was a food truck there. The food truck was called Fire and Rice. I quickly glanced at the menu and headed inside. They have nice outdoor seating and stand-up tables. There is seating inside and outdoors. We were greeted by one of the owners who told us all we needed to know about Coterie Cellars. We were told about the list of wines and their flavors. We tried 3 of their wines and went with Caries Corner's Pinot Noir. We also bought a bottle of another wine we tried to take home. We grabbed a seat inside the establishment after a lovely conversation with the owners and family. We enjoyed our wine and just had to try something from the food truck. I would definitely return. The vibes were chill, the wine was great, and so was the food truck. It was too crowded although there were a few guests but two tables were available when we were ready to be seated. Please Note: Food trucks are there on Fridays and its a new food truck each time. The menu changes every couple of weeks. Tastings are only on the weekends and not on Fridays.

After sipping on that, we chose from their 5 different tasting flights, all of which consisted of 3 wines at various prices. I went with the saison experience, which consisted of 1 white and 2 reads, and my friend the burgundy flight, which was all pinots. As we worked thorough our tastings we were delighted to be given another extra pour that was similar to our flights. Each time we were given a wine/new wine to try we were provided with some information about the grapes and the style the wine was made - tasting notes with flavor profiles for each wine were listed on the back of the menu with all the wines they had. Overall we had a great experience and both ended up going home with at least a bottle. I went home with the rosé and merlot, and I was tempted to go home with even more than one bottle of that rosé. Definitely plan to come back here and taste again sometime!
