I have been to Gali's tasting room twice and have tasted their wine when they participate in events like wine walks. I must have tasted the wines about 5-6 times. This place is owned by a husband and wife team. The tasting room in Los Gatos is cute with several tables, couches and seating at the bar and limited seating outside. You can walk in for a tasting or a glass or two of wine but it's best to make a reservation if it is a larger group. Tasting is $20 that is waived with purchase of 2 bottles or if you become a wine club member. The parking is the difficult part, but it's just to this tasting room. Downtown Los Gatos in general has limited parking. The first time I arranged a meetup event tasting here, it was not that busy on a weekend. Gail, one of the owners served us. What all of us noticed is that while she poured the wine for our tastings, she did not linger to talk about each wine nor did she promote the wine club or even ask us if we wanted to purchase anything. It was not busy at all so can't blame it on that. We wrote it off as a fluke. But, this happened the next time we went as a group and at the various wine walks. Gail will be smiling and will pour the wine for the people in front of us but as my group and I approach, the smile is gone. She will pour the tasting but wait for us to move on - again no explanation on what she is pouring etc. This past week, I was talking to her at an event and she just brushed me off with her hand and talked over me to some one else. I met the husband at the 2024 Vine to Wine event and we had a long conversation, which was a welcome change. This place is tucked away in Los Gatos, super cute interior, excellent, I mean excellent customer service, I was beyond impressed at their customer service that I will definitely be back! We tried their cheese platter, and it was good, nothing exceptional, but not bad either! Their wine and champagne is good, and the interior is inviting, clean and cozy. They also have a tasting on only tempo. The last tasting of mine was Tempranillo& I really liked it. I love Gali's tasting room downtown. I call it "Location B". It's like another living room but swankier. Very comfortable. I recommend that you get a tasting and when they ask you to join the wine club you say, "Yes!" enthusiastically. I promise you won't regret it, because they frequently have fun events at the tasting room and there is always a new art exhibition hanging on the walls. Last week, they offered an artisan chocolate pairing to go with the tasting. It was excellent! And last fall, I attended comedy night there. It was great! Their charcuterie boards are beautiful. 4 stars for the venue, 1.5 for the wine. I so wanted to like this cute little place. I've been searching for wine clubs closer by than Napa/Sonoma. But we didn't like a single one of their wines... Wine tasting is $20 per person (five 1oz pours) and free with a 2 bottle purchase. I never like to waste wine and always buy bottles over tasting fees. But the wines were so bad, we poured a few out and definitely didn't want bottles. It's not that it's outrageous at $30-50+ per bottle. It's just all were either too tart, watered down tasting, bitter on the nose, way too much minerality/acidity. It was a hard pass on all but the Tempranillo, but even that wasn't good enough to justfy buying. Staff is nice and they didn't rush us at closing. I feel bad writing a not great review but I did round up for the venue and staff :) That being said, this really is a cute place! Nice mix of modern wine bar / wine country date spot with well-lit bar seating and little couches and tables. You can probably have groups up to 6 here comfortably or more if you squeeze tables together. read more

What a beautiful tasting room and fabulous service! Visited Gali over the recent holiday weekend and had such a nice experience, I can't wait to go back. They offer wine and bubbly by the glass for $15 or a tasting flight of 5 wines for $20. We opted for the flight and enjoyed each and every wine on the menu. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the tempranillo to enjoy after our tasting and I also got a bottle of the syrah to go. We were greeted by Janice, the owner, upon arrival and were able to pick our seat in the luxurious looking tasting room. We sat in some of the compfy chairs in the window and settled in before quickly being given the tasting menu and wine list. When Janice mentioned the bubbly and saw my excitement (I had been eyeing their bubbly on instagram) she gave me a taste of it, even though it wasn't on the tasting menu. We walked in on Saturday around 5pm and it was busy. There was an artist gallery until 5pm. We wanted to be seated outdoors and there was only 2 tables outside. One was taken by 4 people. We didn't mind if some of us end up standing so we took the table with 2 chairs. $20 for 5 wines. The wines didn't really wow us. Super cute and beautiful wine bar around the downtown Los Gatos area. My friend and I were on a wine tasting adventure and decided to check this place out after we finished a wine tasting in a nearby winery. We were first greeted with their beautifully furnished and nicely AC-ed tasting room. I love how their wine bottles are so nicely placed against the wine cabinet (not sure what it's called?) behind their bar. Given we were tasting on a Saturday, we were pleased that we were able to walk in without needing any reservations. I really enjoyed all of their wines! My friend and I both prefer white wine (sauv blanc to be exact), so we were both pleasantly surprised when we really enjoyed Gali Vineyard's Pinot Cuveé. We loved it so much we even decided to get a bottle after our tasting flight. Their tasting flight, wine bottles, and food were all very reasonably priced. Their staff were all super nice and even let us stay a bit past their closing to finish our bottle. I also really like how we didn't feel rushed with finishing our glasses during our tasting as this is something I've noticed a lot of wineries do. This was such an amazing place to go on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely be coming back and bringing more of my friends to enjoy their wines! read more

Gali tasting room is absolutely stunning inside. They have excellent seating packages with tons of natural lighting & magnificent artwork that is available for purchase. Parking is not ideal, however it is walkable if you're out shopping. We did not have a reservation and were able to walk right in and sit down which was convenient. Customer service wasn't consistent between both hosts working; one was outstanding and very excited to explain what we were drinking, the other barley knew what they were pouring and clearly didn't want to be there. Unfortunately this threw our vibe off. It is very pretty, and for the price point it's worth the visit however I would not come again. read more

Gali is a gorgeous wine bar and I was excited when we walked by and decided to go in and check it out on a whim. Unfortunately the decor was about the only positive thing from our experience. While the wine tasting is well priced at $20 each - the wine just didn't deliver. We did the tasting of the 5 different types of wine - Rosé, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Syrah. The rosé smelled so off I was a little hesitant to even try it - the others tasted water down, bitter or too much tannins that dried your mouth and left a bad after taste. Also the woman pouring the wine didn't even tell us anything about what we were having - she seemed to just want to do the bare minimum and close up shop (mind you we were there a good hour before closing and left within 20 minutes after we suffered through the tasting). Really cute new tasting room - was really excited about something new in town. Unfortunately we found the wines uninteresting, lacking any depth or character, and the Chardonnay downright awful. I only drink non-ml fermentation Chardonnay but this had zero Chardonnay characteristics at all, even for an unoaked. Two of the reds had such gripping tannins, and with no water or palate cleansing crackers we were ready to go pretty quickly (we didn't want a charcuterie plate as we were on our way to dinner after). The Pinot Cuvée was the only wine of the four in the tasting we found drinkable. At $15 a glass for wine if you prefer not to taste, I'd rather go to Dio Deka or somewhere else in town for a good wine. I do wish them success, but please when a customer expresses an opinion about a wine needing more time in the bottle to soften, pointing out that it received an award isn't an appropriate response. Yes... Wine is subjective, but I just can't recommend based on the current tasting. read more

Walking into this tasting room brings an upscale feeling unlike found at other local places. As we sat down, we were offered a tasting or glass of wine for only $15. We selected to each have a tasting. The first one was a well balanced Chardonnay which tasted sophisticated and having a gentle mouthfeel. The second tasting was a Pinot cuvee that was smooth and seemed to be a lighter pinot. We then got a second pinot, this one had a very subtle oak yet complex aroma and mouthfeel. We were told by one of the owners that this pinot only had three clones grown in their estate vineyard. This was one of the best pinots I remember having in quite some time. Third tasting was a Tempranillo-a red Spanish grape. It was amazing and I would say the taste was similar to a Sangiovese and a Cabernet. We were told the winery was one of the only ones growing this fruit in a cooler Monterey climate. ( the vineyards are near the Monterey peninsula) After our tasting we enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of the Tempranillo along with a charcuterie plate they offer and enjoyed our Saturday afternoon. These wines are all great and was hard to pick out one to enjoy in a glass. read more
