We dropped in Saturday around 5:30pm. The owner was pouring the wines and he explained the wines he poured. Tasting fee was $10 for 7 wines. Wished I could say I liked the wines. The Duet red blend was the best out of the 7 wines. Most of the wines smelled or tasted aged. It wasn't to our taste. They had live singer when we were there.

I stopped in here with a friend and had the best tasting of 6 wines for a VERY affordable price. AL was very kind and gave so much information with each wine he poured and turned the tasting into a wonderful experience and science lesson! We learned about the different areas each wine comes from and a bit on how they are created. Recommendations: EVERYTHING! My favorites were the Zinfandel, Cuvée, and the Chardonnay. All are very crisp and perfectly flavored with no heavy after tastes. Perfect for sipping and with meals. My friend and I ended up leaving with 3 bottles of wine each because they were TOO good. I'm so glad we came here and found this place. All of the wines were fantastic, even the ones I usually don't prefer (Al changed my mind about Zinfandel's!). This was such a lovely stop in downtown Saratoga. I highly recommend and I will most definitely be back to purchase Roudon-Smith wines as often as I can!

This was a fun tasting experience! They have 3 high top tables outside during this time. The wine tasting is $10 for 6 tastings. We tried a grenache blanc, chardonnay, pinot noir, tempranillo, a duet blend and a syrah. My favorites were the grenache blanc and syrah! The flavors of the syrah were bold and full bodied. I was pleasantly surprised with the grenache blanc because I am not that fond of whites overall but this was delicious and smooth. I liked the environment but would have loved an explanation of the different wines. It definitely makes the experience more personal and fun. At times in the beginning we were about to be given the next tasting when we hadn't finished the previous one (though we were told that we didn't have to rush but, still felt rushed haha). Despite that, I still had a nice experience. The owner came later and was very nice!

Negative; $35 for tasting fee‼…read more You might expect this at a very high-end Napa winery eg, Stags Leap Wine Cellars etc but not in a remote woodsy area at a small boutique winery. Shocking. ** Chardonnay was out of this world. Good nose, legs, and mouth feel, long finish, but we still couldn't get past the $35 tasting fee pp and only $10 of the tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle‼ That still brings it down to $25... Yikes! The wine attendant was drab, seemed uninterested in us..,,., no smile or joie de vivre. Not "welcoming " at all. 20% industry discount (parsimonious) Usually a 30% discount for industry /trade. 20% is usually a wine club discount. Signage is non-existent heading west. Drove by for a couple of miles looking for the sign. Positive: Chardonnay was very well balanced The first Pinot Noir was very well balanced Beautifully decorated for Christmas season Having ability to sit at a round table with the four chairs was a plus for us older folks. The wine attendant waited on us at the table which was a plus. Summary: Being a 70+ person I have a lot of experience growing grapes, a bit of hands on wine making, consuming wine since the early 70's, and pouring at several different winery tasting rooms in Paso Robles and Alameda. won't be back. 20 years ago the winery was booming with customers, the staff was very friendly and informative. The tasting fee was nonexistent if you bought a bottle it was waived. With so many other wineries to choose from we probably won't return.

The outdoor heaters were nice on an otherwise gloomy day. We had a few whiffs of manure while riders would walk by, I guess that's expected. Usually I'm not a fan of reds, but the Test Pilot (all blends, grapes grown on the estate) blew me away! I just wish the pours were bigger, and staggered vs served all at once. As others have mentioned, the cheese plate didn't have the best presentation (basically packaged + paper plates) and the wines all came out at the same time vs a more interactive experience that I've had at other wineries.

This boutique estate offers a refined, artisanal approach to winemaking. A special shoutout to the cellist, who made the entire experience both musical and beautiful. Crowd: Having a reservation definitely helps to get a table here. The vineyard was filled with large groups of people, most accompanied by family and friends, including us. Service: I arrived with my entire family, and we were able to secure a table right away since we had reservations. Although the vineyard was busy, the staff approached us promptly with menus and walked us through their offerings. The overall vibe was relaxed and approachable, less formal than a sommelier, which is perfect for a casual wine-tasting experience. The Sip: We chose the light flight, which included red, white, and rosé. The wines were well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. Going into the tasting, I expected to prefer the rosé, as that's usually my favorite. However, the Pinot Noir surprised me the most because it was light and smooth, with subtle earthiness and soft tannins, which to me is a true classic Pinot Noir. Overall, it was a strong lineup with no weak points, but the Pinot Noir clearly stood out for me. The Pairing: We ordered crackers, cheese, fig spread, and roasted almonds, which paired perfectly with the wines. This vineyard also allows minors to accompany adults, which I really appreciated. We were joined by my six-year-old nephew, and it was great to see that they offer non-alcoholic beverages as well. He ordered a Sanpellegrino Limonata and proudly enjoyed his own "tasting," which was honestly adorable. The One Drawback: The smell from the horse stable. While the stable adds a unique opportunity to see beautiful horses up close, the smell can sometimes detract from the wine-tasting experience. Since tasting relies heavily on all olfactory senses, horse aroma wasn't exactly the afternote I was hoping for. The vineyard was quite a drive from our residence, but aside from the stable smell, it was a wonderful experience.
