The main thing overall that you need to get out of this is that Katie and her Bella Destinee Team know how to throw a very luxurious event. In my case it was a Sweet 16 for my baby sister. The theme my sister wanted was of all things a Masquerade Ball theme. If you don't know what that is, I must say I didn't know either when I was asked such a thing as well. I was asking planners for quotes on March 3, 2019 for an event date of May 26, 2019. When I was searching for planners Katie answered back within the day of requesting quotes, and I can tell right away that she was very interested in being involved with the event from all the detailed questions she was asking during our VERY FIRST conversation. In all honesty I didn't have much planned and I was asking for this to be put together in a very short time span, 3 months. A very difficult and quite unreasonable task in my opinion. Katie was very accommodating with my busy schedule and was asked to do all the searching, quote gathering, and execution of all event tasks as I didn't have the time to be involved with the process. She basically was the creative genius that made the event so memorable. At the same time there was nothing but open and constant communication with every part of the process. I was presented with multiple options when it came to making any and every decision regarding the event, whether it be something major like a venue I would approve to the photographer, lighting and decoration ideas, vendors, entertainers, to the minor details like center pieces of the dining tables (which all in attendance absolutely loved and many were asking to keep). Each time always looking to have a great event while keeping in mind what my concerns may be, whether it be the budget, number of guests, type of decorum, anything in particular was up for discussion and if there was even a hint of a concern Katie showed no hesitation to address it. One thing I can say is that Katie is very organized and speaks with sincerity and clarity. She loves what she does and the passion shows in her excitement. For all who are thinking of working with her know that you will be as involved as you wish to be or as absent from the process as you would like, whatever you choose she accommodates. She does an amazing job in handling all the little things that a host would and makes things very clear. Anything comes up, an unexpected situation, and she is quick to address it, and very prompt in coming up with multiple solutions to please her client. Her and her beautiful team love what they do and have such amazing vision to see things beforehand, like an artist painting on a canvas, on how things are going to look and how the event is going to happen. The step by step process of what needs to be done before, during, and after to throw an event couldn't be in better hands. There are many in my friends and family circle that specifically expressed how "grand the scenery" and how "lovely" the event was, "better then wedding receptions" and "better than what you see on TV." The words "amazing, wonderful, beautiful" were all said and there were many who were speechless saying phrases "wow, oh my god, that's crazy." Everyone that was there is talking about it to others who weren't and pictures are going all over the guest's social media accounts. Above all the birthday girl was almost in tears of joy by it (we had to try to get her not to mess up her makeup). My ENTIRE family loved it and are going to be talking about it for quite a long time. Many of the older members of the family never saw anything like it before and the younger ones are wondering how they can incorporate "Camille's Masquerade Sweet 16" to their own events in the future. My husband and I used Bella Destinee, Katie Lee and throughout the process we felt we hired a lazy snobby child with a lot of false promises and a million excuses. It was 6 months from our wedding date, we were busy with work, wanted to try to budget and told her as much at the initial interview. We then picked the highest package she offered us a customized $4200 package, where she promised us that she will take care of everything and this was the right package for us. But in the end not only did she not do what was promised she didn't even do half the items written on the contract. On top of that she started treating me not as her client but as her assistant to do her legwork!! She wanted ME to go to our reception location to measure the restaurant so she can get quotes from HER vendors. Instead of checking, she said the reception venue did not have table placement layouts and I was to take the one she drew up to find out for HER if we can use it. She also forget all about us for a whole 2 out of the 6 months even though over half the needed items from the wedding were not done. We ended cramming almost everything in the month of the wedding. Can we say stressful??? When asked about her poor services she said if we wanted her to do more work then we should of gotten a higher package (which was never offered) and comments of I thought you were trying to save money. Making me feel like her version of saving $ = shitty service. Her definition of "very good" from the photobooth she worked with before were that the shots from the camera was sooooo zoomed in I thought I was taking my photos at the DMV!! The booth was sized for 2 people and on top of that it took 2 minutes of doing absolutely nothing before you can hit shoot again. When asked Katie told me "its because you wanted something budget friendly, I gave you more expensive options." Making me feel like I deserve what she gave me because I didn't want to blow a fortune on a 1 day event. Let's get this straight, I had a $60k budget with a Chinese restaurant reception allowing BYOB, I was not being "cheap", but she made me feel like if you don't plan on spending outrageously high dollars on all your vendors she can get away with referring some crappy vendors because all decent vendors should cost an arm and a leg, right? Sigh.... In the end we hired someone who caused us more stress than help, so my tip would be to save yourself the headache and use someone else. read more

TLDR; she took care of all the details necessary to execute our vision, and the wedding went better than we could have hoped. When my wife and I first began planning our wedding, we intended to keep it as small and simple as possible. Accordingly, we didn't initially plan on hiring a wedding coordinator because we didn't think things would get that complicated. As we began scouting venues and lining up vendors, however, we quickly realized we could use some help. We turned to Katie after we picked our venue (the Vineyard at Saddlerock Ranch), and thankfully she knew it -- and our caterer -- well. She provided great recommendations for our remaining vendors (flowers, DJ, furniture rentals, photographers, etc. -- reviews all forthcoming). She was prompt to all our vendor meetings and even helped us negotiate good deals so we could fit everything in our budget (more or less). She was also very responsive to our questions and concerns, and was able to anticipate many of our needs. On our wedding day, she personally attended to the proceedings and didn't rely on her assistants to do the grunt work. We appreciated the hands-on approach, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our celebration with our family and friends. One of our guests even booked Katie to coordinate her wedding later this year after seeing her in action. All-in-all, our wedding went great. If I can give Bella Destinee 10 stars, I would do it. :) It was the perfect decision for us to work with Bella Destinee for our wedding on 4/20/2013. Katie is a professional and I mean it. She always replies to all my emails promptly, and I never had a hard time contacting her over emails, phone calls, or even with text msgs. Katie not only helps planning our wedding, but she makes us to bring out the best ideas for our wedding. She provides suggestions on our ideas and she always tries to accomodate whatever we want at our wedding. She also suggests not to do certain things if things don't match the whole theme of the wedding or things are not sticking to our master plan. I mean, if you are planning your wedding for months, you will end up wanting to do this and that and everything. I was like that. Too many researches and hearing comments from married couples did actually overwhelmed both me and my husband, and we almost felt like we didn't know what exactly we wanted at some point. However, Katie always puts us back to the right track to stick with our original plan that we envisioned together through our meetings, and she REALLY did make it happen. She will definitely work with the budget you have and find you the right vendors to work with. She doesn't push you to go with her vendors, she's pretty much open to all the options. She has lots of connections where we got sweet deals, and it really does seem like she knows everyone in this industry. She recommends at least 3-4 different vendors for each category which was really convenient for both of us. Less than two months before our wedding date, my wife and decided to change venues from the beautiful rooftop of the Beverly Hilton to the artful gallery of ArtShare LA. A few things I learned through this whole wedding planning process: 1. The bride and groom will also have to put in a lot of work and time to achieve your dream wedding. Don't expect your planner to do 100% of the work. 2. Expect the budget to go up. I thought that our budget planning could've been better because there were many unexpected last minute add-ons. 3. You still need to do your own research and shopping. 4. If you are Korean, you have to just accept that old Korean ajumas are never satisfied. No matter what, they will complain!! 5. The butterfly message (frame) project and the name card table decor weren't bad, but didn't come out as we envisioned. 6. The handling of the butterflies for our butterfly release could've been communicated better. 7. I also received a complaint about some confusion in seating arrangements. Aside from these things I thought my wedding turned out pretty well. I don't think my wedding would've turn out the way it was without Katie. My husband and I chose Katie as our wedding planner after video interviewing several planners. The main reasons we chose her were (1) she was clearly passionate about wedding planning and viewed it as much more than a mere job and (2) she is a bilingual Korean American, which was important for our majority Korean guests. We decided to go with the partial planning package. Over the months of planning leading up to the wedding, Katie was very detail oriented, responsive, and listened carefully to what we were envisioning. It was clear to us that she was going above and beyond to try to make us happy. She recommended many excellent vendors (especially for Korean clients) and created a very thorough wedding worksheet that we completed with all the details leading up to the wedding. We were fortunate in that Katie had previously worked at our venue numerous times and had a good relationship with the team there. She was also present for our menu tasting, meeting with our florist, and rehearsal and was very helpful at all of these. Our main complaint regarding the planning process is that Katie did not seem to be tracking our budget. We felt that the onus was on us to stay within our budget despite the fact that we had discussed the budget with her at the start and reminded her multiple times throughout the planning process. She presented multiple options for our wedding and vendors (usually on the expensive side which was understandable given our venue and taste) and we were the ones who had to choose among the many options to fit our budget. This was certainly a source of stress for us during the planning process and definitely something we expected our wedding planner to help us with more. As for the day of coordination, Katie and her team got the job done smoothly and there were no major errors on our wedding day. She coordinated with all our vendors and ensured that everything was running smoothly. A few minor hiccups on our wedding day: - Katie had mentioned that she would time us at each table during our table greetings but she was nowhere to be seen at that time on the wedding day and we did not end up having enough time to visit each table. This was certainly disappointing as it meant that we didn't get a chance to personally greet a number of our family and friends. - Katie never mentioned a champagne toast or family introductions during the reception. Many of our guests were left wondering why these never occurred. Despite the above minor hiccups, overall our wedding day was a great success and we acknowledge that there are countless moving parts that Katie and her team were able to successfully coordinate. First off, I would like to say I am a VERY VERY picky and difficult to deal with bride. Not difficult in the sense of screaming and yelling at people if things went wrong, but rather having a mouth that speaks consistently nonstop! I always repeat myself and make it a point when I want something done, and done in a specific way, and honestly, it gets tiring sometimes, even for myself. I have ALWAYS dreamed of this idea that my wedding will be a certain way and Katie Lee made that happen. I've been to a lot of weddings, and having a wedding planner made all the difference. What I didn't realize was that the wedding planner itself made the only difference between a wedding, and a WEDDING. I was referred to Katie Lee through some of my other vendors, and when I met with Katie, I was a little hesitant to hire her because she had a soft voice, and she didn't do much talking, probably because I was doing all the talking, I don't know. I felt like I was eating her alive. One thing that's very important to find in a wedding planner, is a person that can really delegate and take charge when things go wrong. Katie was definitely that person. It's funny because I never really saw her of that type to be firm because she is ALWAYS so sweet to me, even when I call her in the middle of the night for some ridiculous thing like wedding favors, because to me, it was the end of the world if I didn't figure it out. It was until I found out of from another vendor that she has been hounding him every minute of the day to make sure he does his part right in the wedding because that is what I wanted, and she is going to make sure it happens for me. Then I thought to myself, oh wow, if he didn't call me to go over some of the wedding stuff and brought that up, I would have never known how hard she works to make it special for me when all I'm doing is relaxing on my bed drinking a coke or something. When the wedding day came, things didn't always go smoothly, for example, one of the employees at the venue had a really bad attitude towards my guests, so I told Katie to "take care of it." That seemed to be my favorite line of the night whether it was verbally or physically with my face. Another example was when my guests didn't want to get seated for reception, but decided to harass the open bar for more shots, I gave Katie one look, it was the "take care of it" look, but she was already on it. Or when my drunk bridesmaid danced so hard that she ripped the back of her dress, Katie was already there with a sewing kit, sewing her butt back up. That rip was seriously 6inches! It is very impressive to be able to get to know someone in a short amount of time and KNOW what they are thinking, what they need, and what they want. Katie definitely had my best interest 100% of the time from the beginning of the planning process to the end. My wedding turned out BEAUTIFUL. Other than the little things that we had to deal with, it was nothing compared to the whole event. Everything from the rehearsal, ceremony, reception, and the after party was PERFECT. My family and friends had the best time of their lives! All of them came up to me and told me how wonderful my wedding planner is and wanted her info because she is that good. She does everything with a smile on her face, she never shows any frustration, or the "I'm too busy look", she was ALWAYS on point. How great of a wedding planner to me is about how she handles the situations especially when things don't go your way. Its how she solves the problem and the attitude she gives to other people. People in general are hard to deal with, and realistically, they can piss you off all the time because they just never seem to listen or their vision isn't the same with yours. I don't know what other things happened behind the scenes, because I was too busy enjoying my special night, but I didn't hear one complaint about Katie and her services. One thing I can say about Katie is, she can deal with ALL types of people, even drunk ones like me crying up a storm at the end of the night for no apparent reason (I have no recollection of that). It was my husband who told me of my embarrassing night, but Katie never brought that moment up after the wedding since she knows how embarrassing I might feel. Well, I brought it up anyways and we just laughed about it, and she kept telling me I was great, the wedding was wonderful, you was just too happy, and etc. She always makes me feel special and justify my actions even though its apparent that I'm just totally crazy. I never really appreciate exactly how much she did for me, until I meet other planners who doesn't do half the stuff she does. Now I know I made the best decision I could with hiring her as my wedding planner. I'm definitely on a Katie lee withdrawal, I'm trying to figure out future events to have her plan just so I can work with her again, because she is that good. read more

Where do I start? We can't express how amazing Katie Lee & the Bella Destinee team are and how pleased and impressed we are with their work for our wedding!! When we first started planning our wedding, we had just an idea of what our wedding wanted to be, but didn't know how to put it all together. My husband & I had a long distance engagement and found it difficult to get things done with our living and work situation, especially since we were unsure of where to start with planning the wedding. Katie was introduced to us from our very good friends. She helped them create one of the most beautiful and amazing weddings we have ever seen. From attending their wedding as guests, we could already see how hard working and organized she was throughout their entire wedding. Because of our long distance engagement, the both of us were not able to make the initial meeting together, instead my husband was able to meet in person with Katie (along with our other good friends who also booked Katie for their wedding the following week after ours, that was so beautiful it deserves a yelp review all to its own!) while I was on the phone. Even though I was not physically present to officially meet Katie, just by speaking with her over the phone, I knew immediately that I could trust in her and having her coordinate our wedding was the best decision! We shared our ideas with Katie and she quickly gave both of us a real image of how our wedding could be like. We had done some scouting for vendors before we met with Katie and shared with her some of our proposals. She reviewed each one of our proposals and even suggested some of her vendors that would give us the same materials for the better price! We had a budget already set for our spending and also shared that with Katie. She worked with her vendors to help keep us within our budget and each one she recommended did an amazing job. She made our wedding planning a lot easier and fun! On the day of the wedding, we both were in awe of how beautiful and perfect everything looked. With Katie and her awesome team, everything went smoothly. They took care of everything. We are still getting compliments on how beautiful and organized our wedding was. Katie would always check in with us during the wedding to let us know what was next on our time line, so that everything in our timeline was done on time. But not only that, she checked in with us to make sure we were having fun and enjoying the wedding. I remember her telling us, "Don't worry about anything, we'll take care of everything. If there is anything you need, let us know. Let it be known that I'm probably one of the few guys that will ever write a review for their wedding planner. I honestly don't even know where to begin. Reason being is because Katie Lee made the entire process so smooth and "effortless" for myself and my wife. We came in completely blind and scared out of my mind with planning a wedding with 200 guests. She was there every step of the way making sure all the I's were dotted and T's were crossed. And at the end of the day... I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. The best part is... my wife and i actually got to enjoy and experience our wedding stress free. You can ask any bride or groom who didn't hire a coordinator and ask them how many things they had to take care of/ how stressed they were on their own wedding day.
