We also ordered the tiramisu and its was custard that tasted like alcohol or was fermented and it wasn't refrigerated. Macarons could use more flavor they all tasted the same. I have personally not visited Bella Cora Bakery but I was given baked goods from them and Oh my!!! Bella Cora Bakery makes delicious pastries. We had the Fresh Fruit Tart, A couple different macaroon flavors, and an apple pastry. First if all the presentation of the "to go" pastries was beautiful in a simple form. Everything we tasted was fresh, delicious, made with attention to detail and love. For example: My Fresh Fruit Tart was beautiful, fresh, tasty, each part of the tart consisted of different flavors and textures as they should be. I mention this because .. I have fallen into thinking a pastry is delicious by its deceiving Physical looks but by taste it was all simply sugar. I come to El Paso to visit family but never really explored the area much. This time around, I was determined to try some places now that more places are opening back up, and I'm all about supporting local businesses, even if I am not a local. Bella Cora Bakery was just a few min away from where I was staying so I gave it a try. The first thing I noticed as I approached the store was the sign, "No Mask, No Service." I don't care what's "allowed" or that some people don't "believe" in masks--support your local biz and respect their workplaces. In I go with my mask on, I was immediately greeted by beautiful baked goods and a friendly voice saying hello. I said it was my first time, the man gave me a few seconds to process the beautiful baked goods, and answered all my questions like a veteran host of a baking competition. I bought a morning bun, macarons, Bunny's Butt cake (omg so cute), and a lemon bar. Some interesting macaron flavors you can find here are Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast. I also took Rose and Coffee. I love that the packaging is recyclable and branded with their logo stamped on the box. Such a humble looking store from the outside, but there's magic happening inside. Small bakery that sells out nearing end of day. I came here for some picks of dessert for a friend's bday. Despite it being more limited when I was there because it was near closing time, I was not disappointed by the quality of sweet and treats here. They are properly portioned for bite size, but each bite filled with so much flavor, not too sweet or overwhelming. Just perfect. I love them and my friends loved them. If you are waiting to check this place out you have been wasting your time. The macaroons were chewy and flavorful and not a flake came off the outer crust. My kids tore up the wreath and the Santa hat and as you can tell by the pictures, the tiramisu was OK too (i'm dropping some DJ Pooh bars now.) This place is one of our favorite bakery shops in EP. They are super friendly and always on point with their suggestions. My husband is a die hard fan of those light, flaky, crispy croissants. And he loves them warmed up from this place. The little cakes they have here are also delicious. The macarons haven't been my favorite, but they are very good. If you want to buy a loaf of bread that varies, this place is it too. Just all around a great place to visit. Go early because the popular items go out quickly! read more

As you know, I hate to give low ratings for local places. And this is only review from the one on the east side. I went in one day to do some window shopping, and someone else who is waiting noticed that one of the cooks was in the back looking at her phone, she put the phone back in the pocket and then started touching go right away without washing her hands in between. After she did that, she came out front and starting boxing for a customer, still without cleaning. The other customer discretely brought this to the cashiers attention, who passed it on to her. The attitude she have, eyes rolling and sassily going to the sink to wash really made me lose any desire to buy any items from the shop again. I will say, the cashier handled everything professionally and made sure that his hands were always clean and that all touch points were constantly sanitized (and he's the reason for the 2 stars). One last thing to mention was the pastry case. On the one one the west side, the macarons are aligned nicely and there were signs indicating what each flavor was. This stores display weren't as nearly arranged not was it easy to tell the flavors. Big no no for getting people to buy just by looking. read more

I stopped by Bella Cora East today to pick up my Yelp awards and WOW... I'm sad and glad there's a Westside location because I'm going to get diabeetus since everything looks amazing and the recipes are the same per the staff as when the old owner left and he just won another baking competition. I got some well recommended macarons (abuelita hot chocolate, pistachio, eggnog, dulce de leches, and eggnog) for $9. I also got something that apparently sells out all the time the chocolate devil cake covered chocolate with strawberry jam and cream Knock Knock for $5.15. They have a cute reindeer cookie kit for $20 and other baked goods I really wanted but my pancreas was shouting, "no mas, save it for Xmas!" Absolutely everything from this bakery is amazing. Every holiday I take advantage of their specialities, the most recent being a rosca. It was amazing and my family agreed. My kids love the macaroons and eat them all in less than 10 mins, so make sure you get enough to share. The bread they offer over the weekend is great! Amazing, amazing bakery! I think this has to be one of the best in El Paso. It's a bit pricey but everything tastes so fresh and delicious. I feel it's alright to splurge here every so often. I've been to the westside location more than this one. Me and my son visited after I took him to get a haircut a couple of doors down. Bella Cora was festive for Halloween. The clerk recommended their brains dessert to me and it's amazing! I wish I would've taken a picture of it before I ate it. It sort of reminded me of a chocolate pudding with crumbled Oreos. I can't exactly recall what all it had but it was outstanding! The 'brains' were made from raspberry jelly and frosting. It was very sweet but not completely over the top. I also had a bite of my son's brownie. It was amazing too! It had a chewy texture to it. It was straight up perfection! The rectangular shape of it was even perfect! You can tell that the bakers are passionate about their baked goods while using the freshest and finest ingredients. Bella Cora is well-known for their macaroons so I had to get some of those too.They're $1.70 each. The brownie was $3 and the brains dessert was $5. I had a Reeces and chocolate macaron. I preferred the chocolate. I got a few others but unfortunately they were gone before I got to take a bite. I forgot...I also had a small bite of an Apple Jacks macaroon. Not bad at all, either! I spent $16.50 for all of it. I saw a $5 strawberry pop tart I was tempted to buy but I didn't. Yes yes and yes I'll return to Bella Cora! They even change up their menu pretty often. Decided to try this bakery out due to the good reviews. Overall, it is a good bakery but not my favorite. I am not a huge fan of macaroons and this is their specialty. In my opinion the best macaroon was vanilla and coffee. Didn't really care for the rose one at all, the macaroon literally tastes like a rose so it was an odd flavor to me. The almond croissant was my least favorite , I just don't care for roasted almonds. The best pastry was the cream puff. The cream was light, not super sweet and very tasty. I was asked to leave the establishment after not having a mask on July 6,2020. When I walked into the business no employees were wearing masks. They walked into the back baking area, put on masks and told me if I did not have one they would not sell to me. I told them the mandate was lifted and is not a requirement now in Texas if you are vaccinated or have a health condition that does not allow you to wear one. The employee stated it didn't matter and refused to sell to us. It is unfortunate that this business chooses to operate and turn away customers even after how much small businesses have struggled during this time, especially when their employees were not following the "owners rules". read more

I'm a regular. I love coming to this bakery. I recently brought my dad to the bakery. He's an older man who wears dentures and some stuff is hard for him to chew. So I thought the French macarons would be perfect. Even more so, because they had a rose flavor. My dad is Indian and rose is a popular flavor in India. He was excited. So there was a Caucasian family in front of us, and the employee/attendant was a guy with dark hair, very deep voice.... kept asking the family which macarons they would like to try. (He was offering free samples). He handed them a few and then it was our turn. So my dad asked to try the rose flavor and the young man replied, "is that all?" And because we're not sample freeloaders we nodded. I waited for him to hand it to my dad.. but instead he rushed to the register and charged us for the one French macaron. It was awkward. I had planned on buying several other pastries... but instead he rushed us to the register. He turned to the family that was still deciding on what to buy and said, "I'll be right there," and then he looked at us as if he was annoyed. He just wanted to get it over with. I just payed the guy... and he rushed back to attend the family... we decided to leave. I ended up taking my dear ole' dad to Madeline's French cafe for pastries and coffee. It was worth the drive. Sucks because Bella Cora (East) is the closest bakery to my home. It was my favorite go-to place for goodies. Especially when I was pregnant. My dad usually gets mistaken for someone who is middle eastern. Is this why the young man was rude to him? Or was he just in a hurry because maybe he was a close friend of the family that he was attending? I don't know. If you don't know about Belle Sucre first of all let me welcome you to El Paso, because you must be new (or an incredibly intelligent baby, which still makes you kind of new to El Paso), then let me tell you that they are the best bakery in town. Belle Sucre is a true El Paso gem, and we are all fortunate that they finally opened in the Eastside. For starters there are the Macarons, a delicious little treat that goes great with anything. Belle Sucre makes excellent macs and they have seasonal flavors as well as regulars to keep things interesting. Rest assured the Eastside macs are as yummy as their Westside counterparts. But this place goes way beyond macs, they make excellent pastries, cakes, and tarts. I highly recommend you try their caramel pecan tart, it is delicious, but you really can't go wrong. Lastly they offer a plethora of non-sweet breads, which are great, but the ones I buy the least due to my massive sweet tooth. This location is bigger than the Westside, with lots of tables to kick back and enjoy your treats. WiFi is available for time warner cable users via-hotspot. Belle Sucre is one of those El Paso businesses that would deserve a 5 star rating in any city, I'm not rating on the El Paso curve. Yeah, it's that good. read more

FINALLY! A Belle Sucre on the Eastside! I no longer have to drive over half an hour to get to the one on the west side. If you've been to the location on the west side, the first thing you'll notice here is that there is more than two tables. It goes without saying that we're going to be regulars here. I've loved everything I've ever purchased from Belle Sucre. My absolute favorite is the Nutter Butter cookie --it'll change your life. Followed closely by the tarts. They have tons of other bakery items: scones, croissants, and french bread to name a few. I know on the west side, once they've exhausted their supplies for the day, they won't continue to "stock their shelves." So the later you go, the less likely you'll be able to try their more popular items. My buddy had their nitrogen-infused coffee and was adamant I try it. Luckily for me, they were nice enough to poor me a small amount to try. It was something different, but definitely in a good way. It almost feels like you're drinking a Guinness beer. They used Picacho Coffee from Las Cruces, so it's always a plus when they're going local. If you haven't visited Belle Sucre, you have no idea what you're missing out on. With this new store on the Eastside, you'll be hard pressed to find an excuse not to visit. read more

Knock, knock! No, I don't mean a corny joke question, I mean you gotta get their awesome creation called the Knock, Knock! It's basically a grown up version of Hostess's Ding Dong, hence the modified name of knocking instead of the the doorbell. See what they did there?? ^_^ I believe I bought it for 5 bucks and it was every bit worth it! The size was practically brick like, yet when you actually bite into it, (if you can manage it that is!) the texture is perfectly fluffy with just the right hardness to outer layer of the chocolate coating. And besides the vanilla bean filling, they also took it up a notch by adding layer of mixed berry jam. Amaze balls! I was also feening for some delicious iced coffee, which is basically every time I have some kinda cake lol. I asked them what they had, and they offered the standard brew but also this iced coffee concoction. I forget what it was they used to blast chill the coffee but damn did they make it taste good! They made it taste like some Jamocha ice cream from Baskin Robbins which is one of my all time faves! I noticed the flavors were slightly different for their macrons and the staff mentioned the East location has a set of different flavors from the West. Both places have the standard 5 or 7 flavors, and the rest is their own doing. How awesome! It was really tough to decide what to try besides their delicious macrons, so the Knock, Knock really got my attention in all it's beautifully wrapped ways, like a Christmas present waiting to be picked and make this fat child's wish come true lol. The macarons were good and like many things this is a fad. Don't get me wrong they are good but at $1.70 for a bite size cookie. Come on! I could maybe understand if you were in a nice upscale area you would over-pay for a cookie but this place is in a strip mall. Apparently they are family owned. As they had their young daughter there and kept walking in front of us and talking, interrupting while we were trying to make a decision. A unique bakery for El Paso. I've only had the carryout experience due to COVID-19, so can only base my review off that. You go online and order for pick up. Sometimes the website will mix up the pick up dates so you have to pay attention to that. Pick up is super easy and service was friendly. I wonder if everything is made at the west location because the shop on the east side didn't have that buttery smell wafting in the air- at least on the day I went. All items were served cold and didn't give me that 'fresh baked' feel. We tried the chocolate chip and the oatmeal cookies, and Karen brownie. Some of the creations look suitable for plating and a good sub for when you're too lazy to make yourself something fancy (Or just don't want to purchase all of the ingredients). The cookies are big enough for two people. They're tasty, but hard to bite into. I was hoping to enjoy a car cookie with my honey on the ride home but waited to warm it up for later. The brownie is ok. Fudgy and must be served cold or room temp or it gets too soft. I've tried both ways and we prefer it cold. I really like both locations! They had a great selection of interesting macarons when I went today (3/20). There were alot of cereal flavors like honeycomb, fruity pebbles, frootloops, and cinnamon toast crunch(which I chose). I also got a coffee flavored macaron which as absolutely delish!! It reminded me of a cup of coffee with just the perfect amount of milk in it. I had a croissant which was the best croissant I've ever had and I got a white chocolate raspberry mousse cake. I will have to say that I personally did not enjoy the cake. Well, I did not enjoy the outside of the cake. The texture and flavor of the moose was weird to me. But the actual cake on the inside was delicious. Again unfortunately I can only give the Bella Cora Bakery a four-star rating because of the distance you have to travel if you live in the Northeast area. read more
