Unfortunately I had a poor experience here. First, I called and asked when I should get a spray tan prior to my nephew's rehearsal dinner and wedding. The young lady I spoke with recommended that I get the spray tan the morning of my nephew's rehearsal dinner, and get my mani and pedi before. So I scheduled the way that she recommended, pedi then mani then tan. The woman who did my mani-pedi told me she'd give me the full service, but she'd clean off all lotions as I was tanning after. Turns out, I got a 2-3 minute foot rub (no massage) with my pedi. When it came time to move from my pedi chair to the manicure station, she didn't help me move my things. That has never happened to me before - my nail technician has always helped me move my things from one station to the next. She did a good job on my gel manicure and she did a good job on my pedicure. Technically she was terrific. But she seemed disinterested in the service aspect of my experience. She actually said at the end of my service, and I quote, "hey, I finished you 45 minutes early so now I have time to work on my own nails!" Yes, you finished 45 minutes early because you gave me very poor service. Then, I go to the front desk and tell them that I am scheduled for a spray tan. After discussing with them what I had been told vs what was stated on their waiver, we decided it was too late for me to get a spray tan. I was really bummed as I am PALE . However, the front desk staff - the only bright spot of my experience here - came to the rescue. There was a woman there who greeted me enthusiastically, showed me all of their products (and I bought a few) and when I ran into this issue with my spray tan, she recommended a self-tanning product that was simple to use and yielded fantastic results. This woman, and I wish I knew her name, was amazing. Never pushy, very informative and she actually demonstrated the tanning product for me. I am from out of town so maybe it doesn't matter about my experience, but when I go back to Akron and I need such services I will not be returning to Bella Bronze. read more

Tonight it took quite a team effort and lots of patience from Brooke to correct my DIY mistake on my daughter's hair. She is now a lovely single shade, and the oil slick is gone. Brooke is amazing and I will never play know-it-all mad scientist again on her hair...PROMISE! Thanks to all who lent a hand and to those who had to be bumped. Been here a few times now. Twice for spray tan and once for haircut. Every visit has exceeded expectations, and I have worked at 2 salon spas in the past. Lauren cut my hair- very friendly, took her time, asked tons of questions-- about what I wanted, how much time I wanted to spend styling my hair everyday, What my general style was..... Just really did a great job start to finish. Spray tan--- get the base and finish (not just the color). It lasts much longer & fades more evenly. I recently moved to the area and went to this place because it had good reviews. I didn't have a problem there, everyone was nice and I really appreciated all the COVID-19 precautions they had in place. Due to COVID, they couldn't blow dry which is why I didn't notice until I got home and my hair was dry that my haircut was completely uneven. One side was cut almost like it was cut straight across, blunt end layers and the other were normal, face-framing and angled layers; it looked like 2 different people cut my hair. I had to ask a friend to even it out for me because I didn't want to risk going back and getting it getting messed up even more. I am not surprised to see many 5-star reviews, as the salon is clean and well-maintained and most of my interactions with staff have been phenomenal. However, I have recently had a "less-than-stellar" experience with Bella Bronze and felt the need to share. I have been going to Bella Bronze for about 2 months, using their tanning services, as I am getting married in about a week. Their tanning beds are always clean and sanitized (something that is of the utmost importance to me). Additionally, in the 15-20 or so times I have been there to tan, I have only had to wait for a bed twice, and it was for less than 5 minutes. As far as their tanning services go, I cannot complain. However, I went to Bella Bronze yesterday evening for a final hair cut and color before my wedding. Everything appeared to be going well, and my stylist seemed to be doing a very detailed and thorough job. However, upon finishing up and blow-drying my hair, she noticed a mark on my left temple (I have no previous scars or skin conditions on my face, and my skin has always been normal for my entire life). She asked me if it hurt, which it did not, and said she must have gotten dye on my hair. I immediately knew something was wrong because my hair was getting highlighted to a light blonde shade, not involving any dark dyes which was the color of the mark that had now appeared on my skin. Upon getting home and examining the "mark" in the mirror, I realize that my stylist gave me a chemical burn on my face a week before my wedding. To be honest, the aspect of this visit that upsets me the most is that my stylist clearly knew what had happened and she tried to cover it up instead of being upfront and honest about her mistake. *UPDATE!!!* After speaking with the manager, they provided me with a full refund for my hair services and provided my sister and I mani-pedis for the wedding. The face that they did their best to write this "wrong" is what gives them their 3 star (as opposed to 0) rating. read more

I was looking forward to trying this place because of the reviews, and had yet to find a nail salon in Akron that I could depend on. I got a Gel mani and a regular pedi, which I scheduled over the phone. I had heard that there is a $20 off discount for first-time customers, and asked about this when I scheduled my appointment. The lady on the phone kept pushing me to get their seasonal mani-pedi because of what a great deal it was. I told her I wanted to try this place out and just wanted a gel mani and regular pedi, and use the first-time $20 discount (I'm on a budget). I was hesitant about the seasonal mani-pedi, because it was way more over the top than what I wanted or needed. She insisted that I would be able to still use the $20 discount on the seasonal mani-pedi and so she booked me for it. Turns out, when I went to pay after getting my nails done and mentioned the discount, I was told that first-time customer discounts cannot be used when getting a seasonal mani-pedi!!! Not only that, but the seasonal mani-pedi was about $20+ more than what I would have paid if the lady had just listened to me and booked me for what I wanted! I was super irritated at that. I really dislike when I am pushed into something that I never wanted originally with the promise of a discount, only to end up paying more than intended. I was also annoyed that there were mixed messages on their staff, with one person telling me I could use the discount and the other saying I absolutely could not. I honestly feel ripped off. Moreover, the gel mani started chipping the same week after getting them done, and my cuticles looked like a mess the same day that I got them done! What did I pay for? After calling the salon later to voice my concern about the whole thing, they assured me that the owner would give me a call...it's been weeks and I never got a call back. Everyone was very friendly, and the girl who did my nails was really awesome to chat with. It's just that when I get my nails done I want to feel relaxed and pampered -- not ripped off into getting something way pricier than I wanted, and for something that I could have honestly just done myself. I moved to the Akron area in November and wanted to find an all inclusive salon for my hair and nails. I originally went for nails after getting a Groupon for the services. Everything went great and I scheduled my hair appointment. This hair appointment was not bad, it was basically covering up my roots- I had yellowy-blonde hair. Brooke did a good job coloring my hair and the cut was fine. I've been back to the salon 2-3 times for my nails and made an appointment for my hair. I wanted a white blonde look and even showed Brooke the exact picture of the color and cut I wanted. From the moment Brooke looked at the picture and began mixing the color, I knew something was wrong. After the application of the color I had my hair washed like usual. The only problem was that Brooke continued to put more and more toner on my hair. I was worried. Once getting back into the chair and my hair was revealed, it was a grey, purple, brown color from the mass amounts of toner. After Brooke blow dried my hair and attempted to style it, I asked for my hair to be cut so it would be more full. She did a terrible job cutting it...I hate even saying that because she is truly a sweet a girl. She cut very short layers and none of them fell correctly. After paying $186 (for hair, nails and the tip) I called back to the salon and told Brooke I didn't like my hair and it needed to be fixed since it was not what I asked for. Brooke was very understanding but told me "it's looks ashy doesn't it? Just wash it a few times; I figured you saw it so you would have known". I was really taken back. Brooke did reach out to me through Facebook but NEVER followed through with making me an appointment to fix my hair. I told her days I was available and she never bothered to message me back even though she said she would fix my hair and wanted her customers to be happy. I ultimately went to my boyfriends mom and she had to cut almost 3 more inches off my hair from it being so over processed and damaged from this dye job. I've never hated my hair so much! And in fear of ruining my hair further, I won't be able to dye my hair for several weeks. I can't express how disappointed I am with my hair and the lack of follow through from my stylist. As a new client I was very satisfied! The staff was super friendly and made me feel like I had been going there for years. The salon is super cute and clean. Cheree was the first stylist that has ever done exactly what I wanted to my hair. I highly suggest seeing her, although I'm sure the other ladies in the salon are just as great! First of all I want to start by saying that this salon is absolutely amazing. The front desk employees, the stylists, everyone is always so warm and welcoming. I experienced that from the moment I walked in the door the very first time I became a customer. Before I started going to Lauren K. I had been getting my hair done with my previous stylist for 10+ years. I would often go tanning at Bella and noticed every time how good she treated the person in her chair but most of all I noticed the outstanding job she did on everyone's cut and style. One thing lead to another and It came time for my old stylist and I to part ways and Lauren K was just the person I wanted to see. She was so friendly and took her time. She really gets to know you and what your style is before she gets started. Which in my opinion, is fantastic. I get my hair cut by her every 6-8 weeks and have been going to her for a couple of years now. Not one time have I ever left that salon upset or unsatisfied with my hair or even when she has colored it. This is one of those rare local businesses that combine a friendly, personable staff committed to excellent customer service with a cool, Gen Y atmosphere. My stylists are Lauren and Rose. Both of which are extremely talented and provide the same level of service to men as they do to women. Little things all add up to make a big difference here, such as: putting your feet up when they wash your hair, providing coffee and water while you wait, and greeting you by your first name as soon as you walk in. My sister and I got gel manicures and regular pedicures last week for an event and I had a wonderful experience with Alina (I'm not sure if that spelling is correct). The pedicure was very relaxing, even though I am very ticklish and it was my first pedicure. For the gel manicure, Alina asked me if I wanted two or three coats of gel and was perfectly fine with me wanting three. It has been 5 days now and they are holding up well. In general, I think Bella Bronze is on the pricey side, but keep an eye out for Groupon and if you are a new customer, make sure to ask about a discount. I have been to the salon a couple of years ago for tanning and that is great. I have even had a blow out in the past, also great. Most recently however I had a shellac manicure and am very disappointed. Gotten the shellac many times at walk in nail salons but thought why not pamper myself. Got my shellac manicure on a Tuesday night. The manicure was excellent, and my nails looked and felt great. Thursday night I had two of them chipping & peeling. I am not hard on my nails or in water a lot so figured just a fluke. The salon happily had them redone (never made me feel bad, they were great) on that Friday. Problem is here we are on the following Wednesday and I have superglue on four nails already. Not sure if it is the actual gel they use or if they apply it too thin. Compared to all the shellac I have had in the past these are very thinly painted. I would recommend the salon in general, it is lovely and the staff is friendly but just be weary of the shellac. read more
