I wanted to write this review for two reasons. One to talk about my experience with this store and second to share some insight on bridal industry. If you don't know this the companies that make and design the dresses decide what "sample size" is. They usually base this off a size 4/6 for what they call standard or straight sizes and a 16/18 for plus. Every clothing brand has different sizing and bridal sizing for whatever reason appears to run smaller than normal sizing. Its going to be very hard to order a dress without measurements and the measurements taken are matched against the sizing chart from the bridal companies. Most people are in between sizes. So if you are annoyed about the size of dresses to try on then say something to the clothing brands, post that on insta and facebook and push them for more sizes. My sister's and I went to Bella in decemeber 2019. We were late arriving because of a small accident on the highway on our way there. Even though the store was busy we had our own space and we were not rushed despite going over our appointment time. The woman who worked with us let us try on everything we were interested in seeing. I was excited to go to the Boston store even though I live in New York because they had brands that are not available in the other locations. I wanted to order and pay for the dresses myself and I reached out Brit who helped me do this on the website. Our wedding was going to be in June. In April we realized it would not be safe or smart to go ahead with this plan. I reached out to Brit and she has worked with me to come up with a plan for what to do since we are now rescheduling. Having to plan a wedding once is stressful enough. I never thought i would have to plan it all again, so I am hugely grateful to Brit and Bella for making this process easier read more

Update: After posting my review, a manager called me and offered to reimburse me for any alterations needed to the dress, and asked that after the reimbursements were made for my review to be adjusted. After being sent the receipt for the many alterations needed on the dress, Bella Bridesmaids asked me to send them the dress so they could have a look at it. I have not heard a word back since and have reached out multiple times. No reimbursement whatsoever, and they stole the dress that I had bought from them. I will continue to be in touch until I am both given my dress back and reimbursed FULLY for every alteration that was needed. Absolutely disgusting service. Original review: The dress I ordered fit TERRIBLY--It was as if they didn't take any of my measurements. They also wouldn't return any of my calls asking about alterations. Luckily I was able to find a tailor in the area (who agreed that the dress was poorly made) to help when Bella Bridesmaids wouldn't. read more

I'm reviewing Bella Bridesmaids both as a 2015 bride and a current bridesmaid. In terms of selection and access to designers, Bella has a lot to offer. I found them specifically because they carried the designer I wanted my own bridesmaids wearing the day of our event. That being said, the majority of sample dresses are a size 8 - which in a Bridesmaids dress is the equivalent to a size 4/6. I find this a little appalling. While I'm sure for many women, this may not be an issue, however for ladies who are larger than a size 6 it's simply unacceptable. Dressing rooms do not feature a mirror so you have no choice but to walk out into the showroom in an ill-fitted gown. I rushed through my appointment simply because I was so uncomfortable with the process. Bella Bridesmaid owes to it women to either offer sample sizes closer to the average body type or at least the dignity of private mirrors. Do better. read more

This is such a great shop for bridesmaids dresses. The young lady who helped us, I believe her name was Isabel, was fabulous! My daughter showed her some pics, and she brought out only dresses that were very similar to what she wanted. We were in the shop for less than an hour and had all of our decisions made. I had heard such horror stories of wedding planning, but this shop made it all so simple. And they have absolutely beautiful but affordable dresses. Highly recommend this store. read more

I don't normally leave negative reviews, but unfortunately I feel like this will help other women out there.... My sister and I went to try on some dresses, and while there were plenty of options for her, as she is a size 4 in regular clothes, I found myself (a size 12/14 normally, and I have a larger bust) having to squeeze into everything I tried on. That's if I could even zip it up. I understand that there may be limitations in terms of stock, but there was no sensitivity to the fact that I was clearly uncomfortable, and only once was I even offered a bigger size. I was just brought dress after dress that were the same sizes that clearly did not fit, despite the fact that I was visibly upset and made several comments about how I couldn't tell if I liked anything because they were all too small. No one feels or looks good in something that doesn't fit them. So whether it is an issue with the store itself not carrying appropriate sizes to fit all women, or the saleswoman deciding to focus on the "easier" client (my sister) and not bothering to bring out some sizes that would fit me better, it created an incredibly upsetting experience for me. I genuinely hope this is not what it is always like there, but at the very least I would recommend calling to check on what they'll have for you before wasting an hour and leaving feeling bad. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. the dress was made wrong, needing major alterations, the Boston shop said to have them done and send them the bill for a full refund. Only a 20% or so refund came. We spoke and were told to mail the dress in so they could take a look at it. Months later, they still have the dress, they haven't made a full refund for the alterations and they won't return my calls or emails. We purchased a dozen bridesmaids dresses through them and I purchased a dozen matching shawls for the girls as gifts. Not impressed. read more

Our entire experience at Bella Bridesmaids was awful. First of all the space is incredibly uninviting and not at all what my bridesmaids or myself expected. When we walked in we were greeted and asked to go sit on a couch in a smaller section of the salon and told to stay there and not walk around, even though we were the only people there and the group that arrived 15 minutes after ours was much smaller and given the larger space. The worst part of the experience was the sales girl we were working with. She was incredibly disinterested in what we were looking for and when we did tell her she kept saying they didn't have anything like that there, except then she would ask us the same question two minutes later. She did not try to show us anything else and when we asked if they could call me when a dress we were looking for came in they said that would be "too hard to keep track of". We quickly realized that this was not going to be the place we would be buying our dresses from and were out the door in less than 25 minutes. I am so disappointed with this experience and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a fun bridesmaids dress experience. Or even friendly service... read more

The bottom line is that the saleswomen were uninterested in listening to me and clearly attempting to steer me to pricier dresses. My bridal party along with the mothers went to Bella Bridesmaid to look at dresses. My bridesmaid are very different women -- different body types (including a pregnant bridesmaid) and different personal styles -- so I decided to go with mismatched dresses (same color, similar neckline with choice of two types of similar fabrics) so that each woman could get something that flattered her but was appropriate for the style of my wedding. The two women "helping" us were not interested in working with each bridesmaid to find a dress that matched her. They kept turning to me asking my preferences and pushing this one designer (and ONLY that designer) that allowed for mix n match tops and bottoms. One of the saleswomen even tried to argue with me when I reiterated that I wanted them to work with my bridesmaids. We found our dresses elsewhere. read more

My dear friend found the bridesmaids dresses she desired at this boutique. I decided to go in for my fitting since I was in town. I did call the morning of to be sure that it was okay to stop in for a fitting without an appointment. The person I spoke to confirmed that it was. When I arrived, I was greeted by a woman who let out an audible sigh when I told her I was there for the fitting. It took me a few minutes to remove the layers of clothing I had on as it was freezing cold that day. The representative was less than thrilled. She threw the measuring tape around me, showed me my size, and said that the dresses had to be ordered together, so she wouldn't take my payment. The dresses came over a month late, leaving the bridesmaids little time for alterations. When I went to pick up my dress, the customer reps greeted me by asking if I had an appointment. Not hello, not welcome. I explained that I was coming in for my gown. The rep retrieved my gown from the back room. It was completely wrinkled, and the bottom of the chiffon dress was wrapped in the knot with the plastic bag it was presented in. There are also small stains throughout the corset. This is a high end boutique on Newbury Street in Boston. I think it's fair to say that one should be able to expect a great deal of care and concern for these high end gowns. And it's also fair to say that one should expect to be treated well as a customer at any boutique, let alone a high end one. My wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses were purchased at David's Bridal. We had a 5 star experience at David's. Save yourself the stress and hassle and take your business elsewhere. That's my suggestion! read more

Post wedding review: I wanted to follow up on my experience with Bella's after the intial appt. While I think both Brit and Holly are nice. I do not think the professionalism is up to par for either Newbury street or the prices. There were several mis-haps that made me feel unimportant and that Bella's was unorganized and I had to stay on them to ensure they were doing what I paid for.. i.e. ordering shoes; sending order form. Mishaps included: 1) Forgetting to order the maid of honor shoes for a month and having to call MOH to obtain size and style of shoe after she already filled out an order form. 2) Forgetting to email order form and then saying they ' spilled coffee on it and couldn't send it for another day ' 3) After emailing to set a time/date to pick up bridesmaids dresses getting another email asking me when I would be in to pick up dresses? Said I had scheduled a time and fwd prior email- I was written back and told that they were 'hounding brides to get their girls to pick up dresses' Personally I just think any and every service you pay for customer service should be excellent. Particularly when it had to do with a joyous and special event like your wedding. I was dissapointed but alas I never have to work with this store again. read more

Being a 2017 bride, I have been to Bella several times. Each time I went, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, was making excuses. But when looking back at my overall experience, it was really just awful. I really don't like to write bad reviews, and try to give everywhere the chance to succeed. I gave Bella way to many chances, and at each chance they failed me even moreso. The first time I went with my MOH to look at bridesmaid dresses. I knew what I wanted and had done my research. When getting there and stating the color I wanted, they were snobby, condescending, and kept trying to persuade me otherwise. When talking about my theme, colors etc., they were short, judgmental, and honestly felt like I was being bullied. I left feeling like I lost an argument, and feeling like I had done something wrong. Regardless, I gave them another chance. I decided on a designer that I knew had the color dress I wanted. I asked them to order a dress in this color as a sample, so I would know what it looked like, but they stated they could not. I called several other bridal shops and was able to finally see the color, and some of them offered to even order from the designer so I could make sure I liked the color in full. I was planning to order 10 dresses, and yet they said there was no way for me to see the dress in my color before ordering? Was my sale not important to them? Regardless, I gave them another chance. I brought my 10 bridesmaids to try on the dresses. Whats a little crazy is they give us the same amount of time for 10 bridesmaids, as if I only had 1, which is really unrealistic. We had about 5 minutes left and still had 4 bridesmaids that needed to try on, and they were trying to push us out the door. Again, were we not important to them? Booking a party of 10, wouldn't they expect we need a little bit longer than an hour? And if we are running over, its bad service to push us out the door. Regardless, we still gave them our order. Which this was the biggest mistake ever . Out of 10 bridesmaids that ordered from here, 8/10 had the complete wrong size. When asking Bella about fixing it, they offered to alter 1, and offered to reorder 1 (they sized her as a 0, she was a 6), which was very helpful of them, and I do appreciate that. Every other dress needed at least $50 alterations, and some up to $150, which was more than the dress! If it had only been 1-2 girls with sizing issues, I would have said hmm maybe they lost weight, etc. But for 80% of my bridesmaids to have major size issues that required a completely new dress, or more money in alterations than the dress itself, I would have to say that something went wrong with the measurements. I was completely, beyond disappointed with my experience here. Despite giving them several chances, they continued to prove to be condescending, unaccommodating, and just inattentive given how many sizing issues we had. I was the 2nd of my 10 bridesmaids to be married, and after our experience there I am sure that the remaining won't be using Bella for their services. read more

I had a very nice experience at Bella Bridesmaid two Saturdays ago. I was curious about looking at a particular line of dresses called Simple Dress (http://www.simpledress.com) so we made an appointment and Emily, Emma, Jordan, Sarah, and I had the whole place to ourselves. They even turned away some people without an appointment so that our time wasn't compromised. So, make an appointment here ASAP. Kelly was helping us and she was a total doll. Very friendly and she also measured Sarah R for her groomswoman dress while we were there. Overall, it was a very private space on Newbury Street with a variety of simple, classic bridesmaid designs. I liked Flairs choices a little better (a little more detailing) but Bella is located in a lot of locations around the country which makes it very easy for your bridesmaids who are located all over (like mine) to try on dresses that you're thinking about in their home city. After our visit, Kelly sent me an email thanking me for coming in which I thought was a very nice personal touch. Alas, I decided to go with Coren Moore dresses I had found at Flair instead, but I'd recommend this shop for any bride looking for classic, simpler styles in a variety of colors. read more

I went back again to find another dress after my first trip to Bella Bridesmaid. While I was annoyed that they misinformed me about dress colors and that the e-mail follow-up was not helpful, going in again for an appointment with Jill was great. We found another dress! She was great to work with and was very apologetic about our last trip. After experiencing additional bridesmaid shopping experiences, Bella is now at the top of my list thanks to Jill. read more

I was very pleased with my Bella Bridesmaids experience. We set up an appointment on a Sunday and it was nice because it was just us! The girl helping us was really friendly and we were very comfortable. We tried on several dresses and there were two I was trying to decide between. She wrote down the two options, and I thought about it overnight and was able to let them know the dress I wanted a couple days later. It really scared me that we were pressed for time when we went to look 7 months before the wedding! So GO EARLY! However, their selection was really great so I was pleased to find something I really liked. It cost a bit more than I wanted to spend on the bridesmaid dresses but they will look so lovely! read more

They have a lot of dresses but a limited number for women with curves (at least in the designer I had to look at) so everything looked terrible and made the experience poor. My biggest complaint is that they don't have mirrors in the dressing rooms so I had no idea as to whether I was comfortable showing others before being forced to leave the dressing room. You can buy cheap mirrors and they only have five dressing rooms so it really doesn't make any sense to not have mirrors (or LIGHTS) in the dressing rooms. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Bella Bridesmaid. Brit, the owner, went above and beyond to help me with my July wedding. The stylists were friendly and knowledgeable. I had been very nervous about finding a style that would work for my nine bridesmaids, but they made it possible. The stylists helped to make the selection process fun! I was so impressed by the number of options available in their Back Bay shop. The salesgirls suggested a number of styles that I had not even considered before coming to Bella. I ended up choosing one of their suggestions for my bridesmaids. The LulaKate dresses were absolutely beautiful and they fit my wedding style perfectly. I also bought my flower girl's dress from Bella. We received so many compliments on her custom mix-and-match Lille Couture outfit (ivory satin dress with embellished tulle overlay). Most of all, I appreciated Bella's customer service and attention to detail. After my appointment, Brit reached out to let me know about some new styles from my favorite designer. I was so impressed that she took the time to show me every option available! When my dresses came in, they looked perfect. Unfortunately, one of my bridesmaids had broken her collarbone a couple weeks before the wedding. Bella was able to rush me some of the dress fabric so that we could have a matching sling made! Brit and the Bella girls helped to make my wedding amazing. I highly recommend Bella Bridesmaid to all brides! read more

I went here recently to try on the Two Birds bridesmaid dresses. My appointment was for 3:30 and I showed up early - and the young girl there graciously accommodated us. Cool music was playing while we were assisted. The sales associate did not skip a beat, helping us every step of the way and she also followed up imediatwith an email of all the requested information. There was not a huge selection of dresses there, but the ones I saw were cute. In the Two Birds style, they had the oyster color in regular length and a grey colored one in the extra length jersey style. My one complaint is the difficulty of finding the place (walked past 3 times!). It's a small door with a '715' sign out front and is on the 4th floor. I don't recall seeing an elevator, though to be completely honest, I wasn't really looking for one. read more

I went here for my first visit about a month ago, and I haven't been able to sit down and do the review until now. But I still remember every detail of the experience since there was such memorable customer service! First of all, I called on Sunday and left a message to schedule an appointment for Tuesday. Since they are closed on Sundays and Mondays, I heard from them promptly on Tuesday morning to set it up. Becca was the one who called me and to my surprise and thrill she said she was able to fit me in for the last appointment of the day! When I get there, I am welcomed by a smiling, friendly Becca, who had already established a positive rapport with me on the phone and now had continued to impress me in person with her personable nature. She remembered to show me the dresses of the designer I told her I liked as well as others that fell within the price range that my bridesmaids preferred. It was a very productive evening since I had a little under an hour to try on and discuss the ordering process. I eagerly made a second appointment after a series of follow-up emails from the store. The service was consistent with that of the first visit. As a bride whose bridesmaids are all over the world/country, I was more than fortunate to have Becca as my consultant. Thanks to her, it was as if I had my bridesmaids there with me all along! read more

Consultant did not help us pick out dresses or help clip unless we asked. I honestly didn't know who was helping us until she said we were taking too long and told us we needed to wrap it up. Another approach could have been "It's $20 per half hour, would you guys like to extend your appointment or wrap up" and we would have been more than happy to pay. Not impressed at all and actually told my friend she should buy the dress she tried on at a different store because the service was so poor. read more

I can't say enough good things about Bella Bridesmaids! I haven't received my bridesmaids' dresses yet but we just finished ordering our custom Lulakate dresses and the service was amazing, Brit and Allison let me come in weeks before I brought my girls to check out the dresses in person (it's impossible make decisions just based on pictures online). Then they were super accommodating when I had to book additional appointments for 2 girls that couldn't make the first appointment. I can't wait to see our dresses and I'll definitely recommend Bella Bridesmaids to all of my engaged friends! LP.S. They also have a great sample sale going on right not with a bunch of cute dresses that would be great for a cocktail event. read more

I'm part of a wedding party for a bride who lives in NOLA, so this review spans 2 Bella locations (NOLA and Boston). First, the dresses were ordered at the NOLA location and paid for in December for a wedding the first weekend in June. I got notice from the NOLA location that the dress was supposed to be shipped to me in April. I still haven't received the dress (it is the 2nd week of May). I had been communicating with the store via email, so I emailed, and got no response. Called, and apparently the dress has (finally) been shipped from the manufacturer and I can expect it early next week (the third week of May). I mean - are these dresses made by small woodland creatures out of rare butterfly wings? Five months to get the dress - are you kidding me? The damn bridal gown arrived faster. I reached out to the Boston location about fitting, because I was told that I'd be able to get it fitted in Boston. The website for the Boston location advertises "Complimentary Fitting" with hours. But when I explained the situation - guess what location apparently does not offer fittings at all, let alone complimentary ones? For anyone counting, that leaves me less than 2 weeks to get the thing fitted before the wedding (assuming it actually gets to me - I don't have a tracking number yet). The dress is floor length. At minimum, it will need to be hemmed for the heel height - but it's also a v-neck spaghetti strap gown, so the bust is probably going to need adjustments too. Maybe other bridesmaids do nothing but twiddle their thumbs waiting for the wedding day to arrive, but I work. Having a minuscule window to get to the tailor, for the tailor to do the alterations, and for me to go back to pick it up is a big deal. The Boston location at least offered the names of other tailors who could do it, but now I'm stuck paying alteration fees on what will be an express alteration. This dress was almost $300 plus alterations. To all the brides out there - if this is your price range, you can do better (and likely won't be having heart palpitations when none of your bridesmaids have dresses a week before the wedding). read more

Ordered my bridesmaids dresses here (Watters collection) for my wedding in June 2019. The sales associate took all of my bridesmaids exact measurements (taken from a professional tailor or herself) and then convinced us that everyone should order 2-3 sizes bigger than you normally do in dresses (it really felt more like she demanded it!). I spoke with her at length and voiced my concern that they would be huge and that my bridesmaids would have to spend more money on alterations on top of an already overpriced dress. She went on at length at how these dresses all run small and they're not typical sizing and how it would be horrible for them to not fit, etc. When they arrived they are all HUGE and aren't even close to fitting. Two dresses literally can't stay on my sisters, they just fall down! She also said alterations would cost about $50... not true! Only one of my bridesmaids ordered a dress one size up than what she normally wears and even so, it's slightly large. I feel led astray and horrible that my bridesmaids have yet another expense to pay for. I encourage everyone to order the size they usually would wear (or go up only one size if on the fence) and don't listen to the sales associate here. Other than completely leading everyone astray for what size to order, the sales associates and business owner were nice and helpful. read more

How disappointing was my experience at Bella Bridesmaids this spring? Let me count the ways! 1. Disinterested salespeople. 2. Inadequate communication. 3. Failure to meet expectations on arrival of dresses. 4. Incompetent ordering. 1. Disinterested salespeople. From the start of the process, I was made to feel like I didn't belong there and that my business was unimportant. I arrived a few minutes before the bride to our scheduled appointment, and I was met at the door of their new Boylston location with a raised eyebrow and puzzled expression. "Are you the bride?" the salesperson asked. I was not. She seemed equal parts flummoxed by, and disinterested in, my presence She pointed to a couch in the middle of the room and then walked into the back without a word while I waited for my friend to arrive. There was no one else in there. At this point, I am confused. I am a bridesmaid. With a credit card. AM I NOT YOUR CORE MARKET? Once my friends arrive, we are told they are expecting another group, so we are unceremoniously herded into the far back corner of the store where the four of us can share one dressing room. Although it is only the first weekend in March, and the wedding is in late July, we are eager to find our dresses and the three of us end up purchasing dresses from Bella. We'll have them by the start of June, we are told. 2. Inadequate communication. Although I gave my credit card and contact information, only the bride receives a confirmation email. I have virtually no record of the transaction or any way to see the dress I ordered in case I wanted to, you know, buy shoes to match? Or something similarly outlandish. No updates on our orders. Zero. This lack of communication becomes a bigger problem once our dresses are MIA. 3. Failure to meet expectations on arrival of dresses. Early June comes and goes and we start to feel a little apprehensive. Did we actually order bridesmaid dresses in early March? By the end of June, we begin to call. The wedding is in Washington state and some of us will be away for the entire month preceding the wedding. It would be nice to have it. Between June 29th and July 7th, I call seven times and leave 3 voicemails. At this point, I'll be flying to the wedding in just over two weeks and would *cherish* the opportunity to try on my dress beforehand. My calls are never returned but I do receive an email on July 8th saying my dress is ready to be picked up. No explanation as to why it was over a month later than expected. I pick up my dress on July 9th, and have a similar experience to my first with a different salesperson. I say that I am there to pick up a dress (I had emailed the night before to say I would be in at 5:30). "Are you the bride?" she asks. I reply that I am not and tell her the name of the bride. (I think: NO, I AM NOT THE BRIDE, BUT THIS IS A BRIDESMAID STORE AND MY $269 DRESS IS FIVE WEEKS LATE.) She hands me the dress and then walks away. Doesn't ask if I'd like to try it on to make sure it fits. Doesn't apologize for the delay. Despite this, I am lucky. My dress was the first to arrive. My friend in SF has not received her dress (see more below) and my other friend's dress has not arrived yet. Said friend is headed out West on the 11th until the wedding, in an area with a very unreliable mail system. She had to order a Rent the Runway dress as a backup because we were legitimately concerned that she would not receive the dress in time. Bella fortunately agreed to pay for overnight shipping, but she still did not receive her dress until Monday, July 20th...3 days before she has to be in Seattle and 5 days before the wedding, and over a month and a half from when we were told we would get the dresses. 4. Incompetent ordering By July 11th, my friend in SF has received her dress. Woohoo! Except for one minor issue - the dress was floor length. Although she had tried on the SHORT version of the dress, had never expressed interest in seeing the long version, and was part of a bridal party of SHORT dresses, Bella somehow managed to order her the floor length version. Two weeks out from the wedding, just starting a new job, she has to spend numerous nights at the tailor getting the dress shortened and fitted appropriately. The wedding was this past weekend and while I must say that we looked AMAZING, it was definitely with no thanks to Bella. I will not be recommending them in the future and I encourage others to use other services, including the bridal suite at Nordstrom, which actually stocked all three of the dresses we ordered from Bella. read more

I made an appointment here for my wedding dress. I made it very clear in all of my communication beforehand that this was for BRIDAL and not bridesmaids dresses. I got there and were told that they didn't have bridal but that we could try on bridesmaids dresses by the same company to see how they fit and then order online. I don't know anyone who would order a wedding dress online after having only tried on a bridesmaids dress by the same company. I feel like we got the old bait and switch here when they didn't tell us they didn't have bridal. It was a complete waste of time and the salesgirl was awkward. Also, the store is way too small for the amount of people they schedule appointments for. read more

This was not the experience we were looking for in choosing bridesmaids dresses. The store is cute in the upstairs studio and does seem to have a fair amount of options. I didn't find the staff to be friendly or helpful and was almost scared to ask questions. I think during the trying on you could just about hear birds chirping, no friendly conversation at all. Compared to our appointment at Priscilla's it fell flat on the expectations. We did find some dresses we liked but I would not buy them from here, I'm sure you can have better experiences. In trying on wedding dresses I found lots of stores where the sales staff were much more interested in what you were looking for and working with you. read more

This place was hugely disappointing, particularly given the cost of the dresses (not worth the price). The showroom was disorganized and it was difficult for the sales people to find the dresses we needed to try on when we were there. So we wasted lots of time waiting around, even though we had made appointments and they knew we were coming. The sales people also grossly mismeasured everyone in our bridal party so massive alterations were needed. They were more than happy to refer us to their short list of expensive Newbury Street tailors, though. Their hours were also inconvenient for working people. Avoid this place! read more

I'm pretty disappointed that the beautiful dresses my bridesmaids bought were handed to them in a wrinkled mess! Maybe Bella's could have shown a little effort by steaming or pressing them, at least for the girls who were picking them up in-store. The major issue for the 1 star was that the dresses came in over 1 month late. They never let us know to expect the dresses late - we had to call persistently for updates. This left us with barely any time for the girls to get their dresses altered. The stress of that alone is not worth the risk of ordering your dresses through here. The selection of dresses was OK.. staff was not helpful. It's basically a closet sized place. I'd recommend walking across the street to Flair. Much cleaner, dresses on time, and better selection. read more

I saw a bunch of not so great reviews but decided to give this place a try anyway as it was convenient to where I live and one of the few places carrying Donna Morgan bridesmaid dresses. In full disclosure, when I called I was told they do 1 hour appointments and we were 10 minutes late for ours. (I did call to say we were running late). Their new store on Boylston isn't great - just an open room with not a ton of space for parties. We were given 1 dressing room for 4 girls (luckily all 8 of my bridesmaids couldn't make it!) When inquiring about another dressing room I was told that they did 1 room per party. Therefore the girls kept having to switch off in the room which was pretty annoying. As if this wasn't challenging enough, at 3:22 the girl helping us said "I could start doing some of the measurements because you have about 7-8 minutes left." REALLY? Turns out not only do they book 1 hour appointments but there is NO room for running over. The party coming in after us had to stand in the corner for 5 minutes while we finished up. Long story short - the girls who worked there were fine, they weren't rude or unkind. I just was not happy about the experience. What should be a fun time for girlfriends became a hassle. Since you don't even order the dresses that day (they send you some kind of cryptic email with a link) I decided to order elsewhere. No need to give them my business if they really didn't seem to care about our experience. I was actually happy that a couple of the girls didn't make the trip because it was a pretty lame time! If you're looking for a fantastic place and don't mind making the trip try Alexandra's in Fall River. They have a big building, give out champagne (Isn't what all this wedding stuff is about?!) and are so friendly and helpful. They talk through the process, the dress styles and do not rush at all. read more

The girls here know what they're doing. I worked with Alison and Brit for a little under a year on various needs for my wedding (bridesmaids dresses in shades of coral, Kendra Scott earrings for the girls as gifts (they get a discount here on them if you order in bulk!), flower girl dresses, white dress for my shower, etc) Basically, they hooked the girls that matter the most to me UP. They are such a pleasure to work with, super communicative in person, phone, or email, very helpful with styling decisions and give their honest opinions and suggestions. I am so beyond pleased with how all the dresses turned out and the prices were very fair. The new space they have is gorgeous too. Thank you so much Brit and Alison, you girls are the best!! I do not understand how anyone can rate this store a 4 or 5!! If I could rate it a 0 and not 1 star I would! As a bridesmaid I came with the bride and 4 other members of the bridal party. Our experience at Bella Bridesmaid was horrific! It should have been a sign when there was no signage outside of the building. You would not haven known it was there unless you had the address written down. As we came up to the door to the shop, the door was locked which to us did not seem very welcoming. As we stood waiting for them to let us in, there were 3 other bridal parties and we were told we had to stand there and wait until it was our turn. As we continued our consultation, the employees were very unwelcoming and rude. They were talking bad about the other bridal parties that were there. Who knows what they would say about us when we left. The employees also were not professional dressed. It seemed like they only cared about themselves as they talked amongst themselves and cared more about their own appearances that helping the bridal parties. The bride explained what she wanted in her bridesmaid dresses and the samples that the bridesmaid were trying on was NOTHING the bride had asked for. Also, it was very hard to look at the dresses if they only carried small sizes so that more then half of the bridal party could not try these dresses on. I think this store is very overrated and would not recommend this store for any bride or bridal party that would want good customer service, a array of sizes and dresses, a large array of dresses to choose from or a welcoming store. read more

Incompetent staff with no care for customer experience. I came here for a fitting and was swimming in the sample dress. 4-6 inches of fabric had to be clipped to see the actual fit of the dress. The employee then took my measurements and told me I needed to order a dress larger than the one I just tried... When I questioned the sizing she gave an I don't care response and went back to her desk. The entire time the employee seemed annoyed that I was there. read more

After a not so stellar experience at another Back Bay store, I was very hesitant about trying another - but I was so pleasantly surprised with Bella Bridesmaids. From the email convo ahead of time to make they had what we were looking for - to the timeliness, helpfulness and efficiency during our appointment - I was blown away. I cannot say enough good things about Bella Bridesmaid, Brit and her staff. I went with my mother to select a bridesmaid dress for my wedding party. Brit and her staff spent a good amount of time with us, were patient, informative and most of all just enjoyable to work with. We selected a beautiful long, champagne color Ivy and Astor gown. My bridesmaids came in to be fitted and they all just loved the gown. Not typical bridesmaid attire. Their selection and service are top notch. My mother even found a gown for her mother of the bride gown! She did not want a traditional mother of the bride gown, so Brit helped her to find a simply exquisite gown. I picked all up last night and they are just beautiful. Definitely make an appointment early, as it does take a few months. But, well worth it! Wonderful experience overall. I went with my MOH to Bella Bridesmaids this weekend to try on a few different bridesmaid dresses. When making the appointment I shared my color, designer, and budget preferences and was excited for a fun morning of trying on dresses. We arrived a few minutes before our appointment and had to wait in the hall (the door was locked and although there were people in the store they didn't invite us in). When eventually we were allowed in, a kind woman greeted and told us she would be helping us with our bridesmaid dress appointment. She asked for information about color and designer which I thought was a bit strange since I had already submitted all of that information when making the appointment. She also didn't ask any questions about the style of the wedding or my dress, which would have been helpful information for her to have. Additionally, she didn't ask about body types and sizing for my bridesmaids. It was also disappointing that none of our requested designers or colors had been pulled in advance. Nonetheless we were excited to get started and select dresses! The kind woman helping us pulled several dresses according to the description I gave her and my MOH began trying them on. There was no mirror in the fitting room which was a bit annoying for my friend. While the dresses were nice they weren't quite what we were looking for, however we did feel we were unable to get a clear picture on some of the dresses because the sizing on the samples was so bizarre (some dresses were a size 2 or 4 others were a 12). While my MOH was trying on the dresses our stylist browsed the racks searching for more options, which we really appreciated. However, she didn't seem to be particularly experienced or have a good sense of what we were looking for or of what was available in the store. For example, when my MOH asked if a dress she had on was padded the stylist said no and then another stylist chimed in from the back to say that actually it was. She also had us try on a dress we were interested in in a floral pattern although it was available to try on in our preferred light blue. At the price point of the dresses we were hoping for more guidance from our stylist. We completely understand that not every stylist is very experienced but we were surprised that no one else jumped in to support us. Overall we were disappointed with our experience at Bella Bridesmaids and wouldn't recommend to our friends. read more

What a friendly store, and the manager, Kelly was wonderful. I have found the most beautiful, simple and elegant WEDDING DRESS for a very good price. I only had about 6 weeks left before my wedding day, and Kelly was so helpful. The moment I arrived the store, I got to tried on at least 5 to 6 different designer gowns. Kelly placed a rush order for me and the dress came in three weeks before my wedding. The measurement was PERFECT!!! No major alterations needed!!! All I had to do was to hem the dress about an inch. That was so easy. I had the most elegant gown for my wedding day, and everyone, commented on how beautiful the fabric, the style and the sash were. I could not have my beautiful wedding without the help of Kelly and everyone who works at Bella brides maid. I have worked with Bella twice and had a great experience both times. I was a bridesmaid in two of my friends weddings and we ended up buying dresses from Bella for both occasions. The selection is pretty good and Kelly, the manager, is super helpful and willing to go the limit to help you find what you are looking for. She was very knowlegable and honest about all the dress lines, fabrics, sizes, delivery dates etc. It's right on Newbury Street which is a great location but you feel like you get very individualized service when you come in for your appointment. I would recommend Bella to any newly engaged bride-to-be! read more

I was a little nervous to get my girls' dresses at this Bella after all the negative reviews here, but with bridesmaids in 3 different cities, it was the most convenient place. It ended up being the perfect place for me! I changed my mind on styles multiple times throughout the process, so went back for appointments three times to look at different styles. The consultants were always patient and helpful, and one time we ran about 10 minutes over and were not rushed. Brit was very helpful in determining the best way for my bridesmaid in Europe to get her dress, and everyone was always friendly and laid back. Dresses are perfect and came in over a month earlier than anticipated, all beautiful and correctly sized. Taking off one star because their online showroom is a little hard to use and weird to look at, but actual in-store service was great! read more
