No complaints. It's cheap and clean. Also actually in town, not right off the exit. I'd stay there again.

Yup, that's right folks, 5 STARS! And it's very hard to get 5 stars from me…read more.. My friend and I were in a terrible accident near Chamberlain, SD, while on a cross country road trip from Virginia to Yellowstone and back. We were both injured, and our car was completely totaled. We were taken to the nearest hospital, which was in Chamberlain, and after getting out of the hospital, we stayed overnight at the AmericInn until places opened and we could recover our things and book a flight home. From the very start of our arrival at the hotel, we received the BEST treatment, respect, courtesy, and help that we could ever hope for. Here we were, hours after a horrible car accident, stuck in the middle of nowhere, 2000 miles away from home, 2 hours from the nearest airport, and didn't know anyone. The front desk clerk (Dianne) offered to take us to the tow yard to recover our personal items when she got off work in the morning, on her own time! Then in the morning, we met the General Manager (Rick Santiago) who asked about what happened, and the entire staff immediately started calling friends, family, Facebook, everything they could to get us a ride to the airport in Sioux Falls, so we could fly back home to Virginia. They didn't find anyone, so Rick offered and took us to the Airport! He didn't even need to go to Sioux Falls for anything else, it wasn't on his way anywhere, or anything. Out of the kindness of these people's hearts, they helped us, 2 complete strangers, and did everything they could possibly do to make sure we got our things, and were able to make it to the airport so we could get home. I have never in my life been in a town where the people were so nice and giving of themselves to help a fellow human being. Props to the AmericInn Lodge and Suites staff, and especially to the Manager, Rick Santiago. What a special place with very special people. On a side note, the Hotel itself, was clean, the room was clean, and with a TV and fridge (which we didn't need, but it was there), breakfast in the morning (included in cost), and convenience to the highway is good for those who don't know.

There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. We had to lug heavy suitcases up the stairs. Late night…read morearrival.

The lady at the office took the time to move us to what would work. #46 pull thru. we had to lower the nose all the way down on our 5th wheel. But it worked. Cable available *could not get any channel, antenna NO channel. ice is expensive at the RV office. The view was worth the effort. The Bridge Restaurant in the Hotel has great steaks, and salmon dishes. We were told mix review. but a couple of folks from a cattle company stayed in the park, said it's food. It was, 10 ounce sirloin medium well with baked potato and hand crafted brew. Visit the "Alta Lakota museum and cultural center" across the Missouri in Chamberlin. Then close to I-90 @ exit 264 see "DIGNITY of earth &Sky" 50foot Indian maiden. At the visitor center. I would visit again. NOTE: the best level spots are occupied by long term, or summer residents, backed up to the river. There are still good spot, just have to deal with the leveling AND no TV ( Wi-Fi is available)

Highly disappointed! Made the reservation ahead of time for a two bed and a crib. They said a roll…read moreaway would cost $10 more so we opted for the crib. We got there late and checked in but, THEY GAVE AWAY THE CRIB TO SOMEONE ELSE. They said they had one crib and they didn't see the note that was left and gave it away. I relented and asked for the roll away and she wasn't sure if they had any. She said she would have to call her manager, then she would bring it to the room. About 10 minutes pass and we have already got the kids in the beds and one of them had also discovered half the floor was soaking wet from the A/C unit. She comes to the room and lets us know there is no rollaways and they do not carry them. Absolutely the opposite of what the reservation lady told me. She said she was told she could offer us a different room with a pull out sofa bed in it and we agreed. She asked if we messed up the beds... of course we did! Then told us if we did switch rooms now she would have to charge us for two rooms for the night because they couldn't resell the room. I asked her if she would sell the room knowing it's soaking wet on the floor for half of the room? She said if someone was desperate enough we would let them know. WHAT?!? And it's pretty close to midnight by that time. To top it off there were mosquitoes in the room. It's disgusting this company treats people like this. Will never stay at a Howard Johnson again.

While we didn't get a chance to swim, I did walk around the pool spa area and it is very nice. Indoor pool is not too large, spa and pool seemed clean and there is a shower and sauna plus they had a large stock of pool towels. Hotel was full yet we never heard any noise from guests. Continental breakfast basic: they had a huge container of fresh boiled eggs, you can make a Belgian waffle, toast bread, bagels, or English muffin. No yogurt. It's free with room and you can fill up enough to tide yourself over for awhile. You can walk across the parking lot for a fairly decent grocery store, there is a restaurant- they do serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner (we had packed our own food), and the Last Chance Saloon which has, oh glory of Texas glories, Shiner Bock beer on tap! There is also a gift shop filled with clothing, shoes, books, and tchotchkes. There is a pretty little pond that kids can fish in and will catch one as you can see the fish and fish come swimming up looking for a treat. Looks like perch. Little play area, gazebo with picnic table, and a fish cleaning hut. There were two pairs of Canadian geese which had goslings and they were super cute. My cons and reason for 4 stars: chairs in room were saggy, views they describe on website are not quite there. Missouri River is seen way off in distance across from highway.
