The evening bridge view was breathtaking

Highly recommend this sweet motel!! The owner, Sherry, runs it so beautifully! The rooms are SPOTLESS and has cute cotton bedspreads!! Rooms are equipped with small fridge/freezer and microwave. Shampoos and soap as well! A small gas station/mini mart is just a block away, which is convenient!! For breakfast, there is delicious Donut Shop Coffee and packaged muffins!! I enjoyed a nice long chat with Sherry while filling up my cups. People aren't traveling this summer and it's hurting her business. But I can assure you they take precautions here, wearing a mask and cleaning thoroughly. Please spread the word- River View Inn is nothing short of PERFECT!

This place is a treasure; we couldn't believe our luck when we stumbled across it at the end of the day. It is a super clean and reasonably-priced motel with a spectacular view that you would expect to pay a lot of money for. We sat in the gazebo and watched the sun go down. The next day we ate breakfast out by the water and chatted for quite some time with the owner, who is a really nice lady. After breakfast we wandered into town, which is just a few blocks away. I can't imagine getting a better deal for your money. I would make a point of staying here again.

For a road side hotel it gets 5 stars.. Really clean, beautiful view.. ask for room 30.. The owner was super nice, compliments coffee and muffins in the morning . We were pleasantly surprised

Very clean, friendly hotel. It has a great location down on the river front. Great place to stop as we passed through South Dakota.

A few hours before arriving in Chamberlain, I found this place and booked the best room, the one on the second floor overlooking the Missouri River.

Yup, that's right folks, 5 STARS! And it's very hard to get 5 stars from me…read more.. My friend and I were in a terrible accident near Chamberlain, SD, while on a cross country road trip from Virginia to Yellowstone and back. We were both injured, and our car was completely totaled. We were taken to the nearest hospital, which was in Chamberlain, and after getting out of the hospital, we stayed overnight at the AmericInn until places opened and we could recover our things and book a flight home. From the very start of our arrival at the hotel, we received the BEST treatment, respect, courtesy, and help that we could ever hope for. Here we were, hours after a horrible car accident, stuck in the middle of nowhere, 2000 miles away from home, 2 hours from the nearest airport, and didn't know anyone. The front desk clerk (Dianne) offered to take us to the tow yard to recover our personal items when she got off work in the morning, on her own time! Then in the morning, we met the General Manager (Rick Santiago) who asked about what happened, and the entire staff immediately started calling friends, family, Facebook, everything they could to get us a ride to the airport in Sioux Falls, so we could fly back home to Virginia. They didn't find anyone, so Rick offered and took us to the Airport! He didn't even need to go to Sioux Falls for anything else, it wasn't on his way anywhere, or anything. Out of the kindness of these people's hearts, they helped us, 2 complete strangers, and did everything they could possibly do to make sure we got our things, and were able to make it to the airport so we could get home. I have never in my life been in a town where the people were so nice and giving of themselves to help a fellow human being. Props to the AmericInn Lodge and Suites staff, and especially to the Manager, Rick Santiago. What a special place with very special people. On a side note, the Hotel itself, was clean, the room was clean, and with a TV and fridge (which we didn't need, but it was there), breakfast in the morning (included in cost), and convenience to the highway is good for those who don't know.

They managed 2 out of 5. They were inexpensive and clean. It is like every hotel in the town got together and decided to suck so they didn't need to do much. The front desk was not staffed when I entered. There were papers all over the front desk including a notice that said there would be a $200 fee for unregistered pets, smoking or vaping. The button to call for help was the find the handset button of a cordless phone base. The front desk attendant never once smiled. She did not seem welcoming. She did immediately ask for ID. When I explained I had a Service Dog, she questioned what the dog did for me, even though,I had specifically requested the mobility accessible room. It is ok that she asked. It just seemed odd given the situation. She then explained it was ok to take the dog out the back door and around the corner or around the other side but not to take her out front. We soon learned that the back door did not lock at all, despite the fact that it clearly was made to. The area described for the dog was actually the area for the parking area for the dumpster, the a fish cleaning station and the highly littered grass area next to the highway. The woman took forever to get us signed in despite (or because of?) the fact that we had already checked in online. It took less time the last time I went to the DMV. When we figured out that the key goes in upside down, we could finally get in to our room. There was plenty of room with the door fully open. The bathroom was incredibly spacious. Having an emergency phone was a good touch. The no entry shower had a hand hold and a sturdy fold down seat. Full marks there!! The sink was just outside the bathroom. The furniture was battered. But then there was not an easily accessible path between the foot of the bed and the TV cabinet. It was 37" and the drawer handle came out 1". There was 37" between the two queen beds as well.

While we didn't get a chance to swim, I did walk around the pool spa area and it is very nice. Indoor pool is not too large, spa and pool seemed clean and there is a shower and sauna plus they had a large stock of pool towels. Hotel was full yet we never heard any noise from guests. Continental breakfast basic: they had a huge container of fresh boiled eggs, you can make a Belgian waffle, toast bread, bagels, or English muffin. No yogurt. It's free with room and you can fill up enough to tide yourself over for awhile. You can walk across the parking lot for a fairly decent grocery store, there is a restaurant- they do serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner (we had packed our own food), and the Last Chance Saloon which has, oh glory of Texas glories, Shiner Bock beer on tap! There is also a gift shop filled with clothing, shoes, books, and tchotchkes. There is a pretty little pond that kids can fish in and will catch one as you can see the fish and fish come swimming up looking for a treat. Looks like perch. Little play area, gazebo with picnic table, and a fish cleaning hut. There were two pairs of Canadian geese which had goslings and they were super cute. My cons and reason for 4 stars: chairs in room were saggy, views they describe on website are not quite there. Missouri River is seen way off in distance across from highway.
