I initially had a concern about my bill because I thought I was overcharged for an item. When I called, they explained that the owner had already gone home for the day, but assured me he would contact me the next day. Sure enough, the owner personally called me back, apologized for the misunderstanding, and quickly corrected the issue. That level of customer service really impressed me. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but what matters is how a business handles them, and they handled it professionally and respectfully. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back!

We were surprised to see we were the only ones in the entire dining room. The staff greeted us right away and got us seated immediately. The dining room does not have the typical decorative flair of most middle eastern restaurants in our area, but they are fairly new. When our waitress came to the table, we asked about recommendations and she offered a few. I decided on the chicken and beef shawarma dinner combo and my wife went with the Chicken Tawook. The waitress pointed out the traditional spits that they cook the shawarma on in the kitchen. Both meals came with a lentil soup and salad, which we picked the fattoush. To start, the lentil soup was decent, nothing out of the ordinary. However, the fattoush salad was excellent and dressed perfectly. They topped it with fresh pomegranate seeds and the right amount of dressing. We ordered a small hummus, which was nice and creamy. I wish they made the soft pillowy bread in house, but it was just the standard pita bread. The amount of food you get for the price is outstanding. The shawarma combo was a great way to try a couple items. The chicken shawarma was pretty good (I am not always a huge chicken shawarma fan) as it was a little dry. However, the beef shawarma with the garlic pastes and rice were on point. The real winner was my wife's Chicken Tawook. The chicken was moist, flavorful and just delicious. You can definitely split one meal for two. To end, the waitress surprised us with a delicious dessert she called the Beirut Dessert, it was yummy. Overall this place was good. We will definitely go back to try some other options. It is hard in an area with so many middle eastern options, but I hope they do well. Stop by and show them some love.

During colder weather, I often give in to my cravings for Mediterranean cuisine. Since I had…read morealready bookmarked Levantine Grill, I thought I knew where I wanted to go, and was temporarily confused by Google Maps which provided some really odd directions. The restaurant was emptying out when I arrived. Luckily, there were a few booths available after a quick cleanup, that is. The menu is varied, with appetizers (spinach pies, baba ghannouj, majadra), entrées (shish kebab, shawarma, lamb chops, and gallayah), and vegetarian and seafood options. I tend to order either shish tawook or shish kebab and did not deviate from this. Why mess with a good thing? I selected the side salad (instead of soup) and grilled vegetables (instead of fries or rice) to accompany my kebabs. The pita bread was less puffy/ yeasty than what I am accustomed to, but good nonetheless. The salad was crisp and cold while the shish kebabs were tender and flavorful. I loved the (healthy) grilled vegetables that came with my meal. Of course, I had to have extra garlic sauce - the all-purpose condiment for the pitas and shish kebab. Service was outstanding. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

The food is even better than its predecessor in the same location. In my opinion, it has the best fahsah (even better than another Canton location or their Dearborn twin restaurant). More flavor, more meat, and a tastier crunchier bread to go with it. The other options have more variety than many other places. I like the broiled chicken, the chicken shawarma, shawarma combo... tons of delicious options. I can't stop thinking about the fahsah, though. It's a "stick in your mind forever" kind of dish, especially the way they prepare it here. The appetizers (Kibbee, Ghanouj, Hummus, Spicy Potatoes) were all fantastic. Careful with the veggie grape leaves, though! They tasted like a pile of bitter lemon and were a bit tough to eat - only bad thing I've ever had here. One of the biggest improvements over the restaurant that was here before is the service. Previously, we went and felt ignored as the servers left water cups empty and didn't bring parts of our meal and chatted with their friends - the service was terrible. This new restaurant, with a different menu but with some familiar items, doesn't share the same fate - the team members here are attentive, and friendly, and the place feels cleaner and more well-kept. I highly recommend going to Al-Jannah. Did I mention the fahsah enough times yet? :)
