This beignet stand was at the Murrieta Hot Springs food truck festival a couple Tuesday nights ago. I was so excited to try it, we ordered a half dozen classic with lemon curd on the side. The gentleman working the Sunset Market in Oceanside on Thursday was so kind and generous. We ordered the chocolate ones and he asked if my niece likes sprinkles. We said yes thinking he was going to add sprinkles on top. But he ended up making a special one just for her . Besides the kindness, the actual beignet were delicious, fresh, and hot. Although the beignets at Disneyland are pretty good. I tried the cookies and cream with real chocolate cookies pieces. Although it is good my recommendation is to add the powdered sugar. I've never had beignets before stopping at this food stall in the Sunset Market, so I have nothing to compare them against. I just know that I enjoyed the warm, fluffy goodness while walking around the fair. I opted for strawberries with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and whipped cream. It could have used more strawberries, and only one beignet was covered in a glaze. I wasn't sure I'd like the cereal but it was fresh and added a nice crunch. We used cash; he accepted cards as well. Quiet but friendly guy. I would definitely come back and try a different flavor combination but there's so many other dessert options that it might be a while. Plus, I was informed that funnel cakes exist somewhere here and I've never had one of those yet! These looked to die for when we passed by their stand at the Oceanside farmers market. Unfortunately, the flavor wasn't there. My friend and I got the Spectacular, which is supposedly a "crowd favorite." The beignets tasted like they were old and had been sitting out for a while as they were hard and not hot at all. Thank god the strawberries were at least fresh. We got it with chocolate ice cream, which was an additional $3 charge. Not worth it considering it was just a small scoop. I've had beignets in New Orleans before and they are supposed to be fresh, hot and fluffy. They 100% missed the mark on this. Very disappointing and I will not be returning. read more

We tried this family-owned business at the Ocean Beach farmer's market and had a wonderful experience! Service: Fast and attentive. It's family run and there were 2 individuals working the tent, they were doing their best and it's worth the 5-10 minute for your food because they're so friendly and truly do a great job! Ambience: You get to see the fresh dough being transferred from the freezer/cooler directly into the hot pan and you can see them decorating it with the different toppings, which totally adds to the experience. Food: We got 1/2 classic powdered and 1/2 cinnamon sugar. It was 5 large beignets for $8, which is such a good deal! My friend and I split them and this easily satisfied our sweet tooth and left us wanting to come back for more next time. There was so much powdered sugar we were re-dipping our beignets in for more and the cinnamon flavor was good as well! read more

We enjoyed Beignet Belly at the Asian Night Market last summer. Since the other vendors were absolutely SLAMMED in terms of business, we opted to have Dessert for Dinner. Don't get me wrong, there was still a significant line and the team was obviously trying their best to keep up with the demand. The anticipation continued to build. We saw those at the front of the line indulging in this decadent dessert. Our willpower and patience were tested but we saw things through til the end. It was tasty. We decided to try the spectacular beignets, which was covered with powdered sugar, strawberries, and fudge sauce. You can also add ice cream for an extra cost. After paying, there was a wait to get our dessert, but it was worth it. The beignets were freshly made and exactly how I remember eating them in New Orleans. Had a wonderful day at the Gator by the Bay. We stood on line for a good 25 minutes to order our beignets and another 15 to get them. My grandkids had never had them before so the wait was worth it. The youngest one loved the powdered sugar and the older one said it taste like a hot powdered donut. I just loved sharing the experience with them. We sat down on the grass on a blanket and ate beignets while powdered sugar flew all through the air and all over our clothes. It was all over my face and my girls. Belly Meals was our go to for Valentine's Day. It was delicous. You pick up the food a few blocks away from Convoy Street. The owners are enthusiastic and make it a quick and friendly maneuver. We enjoyed chicken adobo and the roasted veggies. We had enough left overs for a tasty lunch the next day. Their beignets are what first tasted a few years ago at the Oceanside Thursday Night Market and also at December Nights . This was a line we were willing to wait in. I hired Beignet Belly to cater a Fall Festival on a college campus and they were such a joy to work with. At first it took me a while to get in touch with them, but the more than made up for the shaky start with a discount, excellent follow up communication, and tasty treats. We got the pumpkin stuffed with ice cream and carnal sauce, chocolate strawberry with ice cream, and classic power surface. The service was quick which kept the lines short and people could help but go back for more. Make sure to taste one at the local farmers markets or hire them for your next event. I wish I could give this business 0 Stars because they deserve nothing more. I contacted them in October to hire them for my wedding for the following year. I was contacted by Angela and was told she'd forward my venue and head count information to the owners. A month later, she asked me for the same information. (She only contacted me once I sent her several follow up emails asking for the status of my booking request). I kept following up with her, but did not receive a response for months. She barely contacted me today and told me AGAIN, that she would "forward the information to the owners". Not sure where the lack of communication and follow through is, but this company clearly does not want business. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time because they're certainly not wasting theirs. read more
