Despite all of that effort, Lalita Davidoff never showed up. I waited in the office until 8:45 AM with no communication. She eventually called me, and based on the call, I highly doubt she was even in the office -- it sounded like she was at home. This was supposed to be my first appointment with her and she created an awful first impression. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed maybe she had an emergency, so I agreed to take the call. Instead, she acted as if nothing was wrong and showed no acknowledgment of how unprofessional the situation was. The only reason I agreed to continue with a phone appointment was because it took weeks just to get this appointment, and I urgently needed care. Honestly, not being seen at all would have been better. I wasted hours of my time. She was extremely cold, dismissive, and immediately started talking about putting me on medication without doing a full evaluation. After researching the medication she prescribed, I realized how inappropriate it was to recommend something that strong without ever meeting me or conducting a proper assessment. It genuinely felt unsafe. I also truly believe that after I mentioned her tardiness, she became defensive and blamed me -- even going as far as to gaslight my mental health concerns. The entire interaction was unprofessional, careless, and unacceptable. I will be reporting this provider to the medical board. No one seeking mental health care should be treated this way.

After Kaiser we went to Facey for recommendations, and it was the same thing as Kaiser. At once, we decided on One Heart and we were greeted by Sheila, she was very kind and considerate, and this of course, made me hopeful that the service here would be satisfying. Within a short amount of time, Alejandra came to meet us, and she brought my daughter into her office. One detail I appreciate is that clients are able to choose the room where they feel most comfortable having their session. Upon first speaking with Alejandra, I felt satisfied with the service, you can tell that she is passionate about what she does, and that she wants for clients to be satisfied, as well as to help them with change. Rather than feeling that the focus was on appropriate patient care, the experience left me feeling that financial considerations were the priority. Overall, I felt the clinic was poorly managed, inadequately equipped to address complex behavioral health needs, and lacking the professional expertise I expected from a behavioral health provider. The tools and techniques I learned in her class gave me the confidence and calm I needed--and I used them again when I gave birth to my second child in June 2023. Both births were completely unmedicated, peaceful, and empowering. I wasn't afraid--I actually enjoyed the experience. Alisha is incredibly warm, kind, and grounded. Her presence alone is calming, and she was always able to soothe any fears or anxieties I had. I even called her while in labor, and she guided me through breathing techniques that helped me stay centered. With my first, I arrived at the hospital already 9 centimeters dilated after laboring at home most of the day. It was a beautiful experience. My husband took the class with me, which was so helpful. He knew exactly how to support me and understood the birth experience I envisioned. Because I had such a positive experience, I even reached out to Alisha while my sister was in labor. Although my sister hadn't taken the course, Alisha generously offered to speak with her and provided much-needed reassurance during a stressful time. To this day, I still use the calming techniques I learned, and I'm teaching my children the importance of mindfulness and meditation.
