So here is a warning, that it will take time. I should add, this is for afternoons. If you have open availability (if your child is not in school) hopefully the wait is not as bad. So far their intake has been easy and not too bad. It took about 5 weeks from the evaluation until we began services. We were approved for 15 hours but started with 6 hours. We will take any hours, especially during the shutdown because of COVID-19. ABA is an essential service and honestly I think this is how we got in, because many of their clients were cancelling and putting services on hold. Our BT only paired (basically lets the child play and pick what to do) for 2 sessions and the 3rd session began working on programs. This I am very happy about. He attended SSJ a few times before COVID and I really love the guided social interactions by the staff in a 'daycare'/preschool setting the room & schedule is ideal for preparing kids to be successful in a similar setting. As many kids esp during the lockdown have regressed previously learned social skills or have not had the resources to expand current ones, leaving many young children in their crucial years with abnormal and mixed emotions about when it's ok to play with kids outside and attempting to explain to a 2yr old he can not play ball with a group of kids at a park who he normally would interact with. This definitely leads to mixed appropriate behaviors and frustration that I am sure many parents feel that this ultimately may lead to a more aloof & seclusive behavior. Late post: I recently moved out of the area but when I was looking for a school for my school age…read morekiddos, this place was perfect. I really like how they have the small classroom sizes. The staff are all really nice, caring and supportive of the kids needs and accommodations. I like that they are in a school site and have close proximity classrooms and a playground. The best part was that each kid has specialized curriculum. It is so important for my ASD kiddos to have the variety a typical school setting. If you are looking for a school that goes above and beyond, check this place out. I hope I can find a school like this in my new city.

Although they do provide strong academics, their emphasis is on social and emotional therapeutics.
