I had my first visit during Madison's Restaurant Week and everything was so delicious. The service was wonderful. The entree was a medium petite filet with a shrimp. The combinations on the plate went together so well! I loved the location and will definitely def go back for a happy hour or date night!

Alas, we have so few, and I'm so excited this concept opened! I came on a fall/winter evening, but definitely would love to come back in sunny outdoor weather. On the top floor of the Moxy hotel, Atico serves up a really lovely array of Mexican and Mexican-themed foods. They've got some really elevated entree options, but also have a host of street tacos. While their menu is a bit pricey (some were actually outrageous), the happy hour specials they had listed on the table were a great deal -- definitely would love to come back here for happy hour. I ordered 2 al pastor street tacos and a carne asada street taco. They're nicely sized and are decently full with meat. Onion and cilantro tops them off just like a street taco should be. I thought they were pretty tasty. I didn't love that the pineapple in the al pastor was chopped on top and was served cold (the pineapple, not the meat), but I still ate every ounce of both my tacos, so take my complaint with a grain of salt. My margarita was also good, I appreciated that they were willing to make it "up" instead of "on the rocks." Our server was very accommodating and able to answer questions. Overall, I don't know that the food is worth the price, but it would definitely be worth it on a rare occasion to enjoy the rooftop ambiance. The happy hour also solves for this conundrum. So, I'd certainly like to be back to Atico.

It was admittedly a little warm inside, maybe because the AC wasn't working. I got the lomo saltado, which reminded me of college days when my dining hall would serve this!! The beef was SO tender, and the fries help soak up the soy based sauce. I also loved the aji verde that comes with the fries - so fresh made with jalapeños, cilantro, and mayo! The portion was honestly huge!! I also got the ceviche, which came with hugeee chunks of fresh fish! There was also big pieces of Incan corn and fried corn!

Upon entering, the first thing that hits: chickens on the rotisserie, and honestly, I haven't seen that since Boston Market a decade ago. I ordered at the counter, and a few minutes later the worker came by offering my dining partner and me chicken soup as a little extra gesture--hot, delicious, and very welcome. I had cilantro rice and black beans alongside my chicken, all perfectly done. The flavors here are solid and a great introduction for me to Peruvian cuisine. Why not five stars? The vibe is minimal and casual--gas station setting and all--so it's more functional than cozy or lively. Still, the food is excellent, and I'll absolutely be back for more.

I came for lunch with a friend and the experience was good! I can see why it is considered a staple. The space itself is large. Bigger than you would expect and has a decent amount of seating and very cute decor. It felt Disney esc and like they were trying to get you to have some interaction and immersion. The service was top notch. Our server was very attentive, informative, and friendly. She did forget to give us the lunch specials menu, but quickly got it when we asked, which PROTIP, there is a lunch special but it's not on the main menu at all. Now, lets talk about the food. We ordered the following - - Beef Empanada: Small, but mighty. Packed full of shredded beef and fried to the top degree, almost edging on too crispy, but realistically can there be too much? Like I said, it was small for $3.75, but was piping hot and I loved the cilantro dip that came with it. -Arroz Con Pollo : Super Flavorful rice that is piping hot when it comes out. I'm not a fan of plantains usually but these were fantastic and went well with the meal. The lunch doesn't come with Fries or a drink, but the amount of rice you get is enough to fill you up -Pechuga al Limon: Fried chicken with a buttery lemony sauce on top. This was a massive dish that also came with fries and salad. -Hazelnut Latte: Not too much hazelnut, lots of milk Overall, I'd probably give them closer to a 3.5, but rounded up as the food was good and the experience was solid. If I'm on the east side I would consider meeting up with a friend there, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
