We found out from our regular veterinarian earlier in the…read moreweek that our beloved pet kid had a mass on her spleen that could be cancerous so it needed to be removed ASAP and we were told to bring her here. We were so nervous throughout the whole ordeal and from the first second arriving here the staff was so kind. Dr. Scavelli took us in for a consultation and was very informative, patient and professional within the next hour our baby was in for surgery. We received a phone call about 2 hours later explaining that she did extremely well in surgery and that we could come visit her at anytime. When we came to visit the nurses were so sweet and our girl seemed so happy. Our dog has extremely bad anxiety issues as well as allergies and dietary restrictions and we must have bombarded them with many requests and questions and not once did they ever seem bothered but more like pleased to help. The next day when we came to visit one of the nurses even offered her some turkey cold cuts bc she hadn't eaten in a while. That night when we called to check in, Dr. Rawdon, told us that she was really anxious and that he took her out of the cage and put a blanket next to him and let her hang out with him to make her feel more comfortable. That really made us feel great. The whole staff went above and beyond to make our baby feel comfortable and to do the same for us, the overbearing pet parents. Dr. Meeking was the one to discharge her yesterday and answered all of our questions and gladly. She came home and was acting like nothing had even happened, her happy little self! Today we got the call that our baby is cancer free! I cannot stress enough how amazing GSV is. I wish they did routine vet work ups. If your pet is very sick or need emergency help DO NOT HESITATE to bring your pet here. It's so rare to find a place with such a caring staff and knowledge. I am blown away by everything they did for us! I will recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you GSV for making a very hard time for us feel more positive and hopeful. We are forever grateful!

Great staff cute cats-you can't lose!…read more So I've been wanting to come here for a while since I love pets and always seem to go to the Humane Society in Newark to look at them. This is a rather small place; a trailer so to speak with super cute cats of all sizes and ages. When I first walked in, I was greeted by 2 very nice ladies that was extremely helpful and patient while I looked around at all of the cats. They will ask you if you have any pets and if you do- they will ask about their personalities. The one cool thing I liked about this place is that they let the cats walk around and allow you to play with them and hold them to get a feel for your future potential fur baby. They (the ladies) weren't pushy and was genuinely interested in getting to know who would be adopting those cats. One of the ladies even took me next door to show me another cat that might be a great companion for my cat that I have at home. They also have dogs here for adoption as well although very minimal. There is plenty of parking however when you come in drive very slow since there may be cats walking around. Overall, I would recommend adopting from here as you can tell the staff really cares about the pets. Although I didn't adopt today- I could totally see myself coming back as there were a few cats that I really liked.
